2.8 Hours Later Asylum - Liverpool
I took part in this years Sling Shot production Zombie game 2.8 Hours Later Asylum.
Set in modern britain in a politically apocalyptic themed story line. You have to navigate around several parts of the city centre listening out for clues & co-ordinates, avoiding super fast and very real like zombie volunteers.
The orange zombie at the end of this film was not only the fastest but the scariest too. I highly recommend this to any type of zombie fan as a player or a zombie volunteer.
As a single player with no team I managed to survive but I did go down hard and hurt my elbow & knee right at the end in zone 10.
A good night out to say the least.
Haunted Leicester Castle : The Horrific Haunting of Black Annis
A site survey of the Haunted Castle. Leicester Castle was built by the Norman Hugh de Grantmesnil, circa 1070 AD. It is located in Leicester, Leicestershire, England. It was built incorporating the Roman town walls, Leicester having been a major centre during Roman occupation. However the site itself holds a Haunting which predates both the castle and town walls - a Haunting which dates back to the Bronze Age - and is possibly the oldest haunting in the British Isles.
Leicester Castle is Haunted by a Demonic Witch who goes by the name Black Annis (sometimes also called Black Anna or Cat Anna). She is said to dwell beneath Leicester Castle in an underground network of caverns. The roots of Black Annis relate to the worship of the Bronze Age Celtic Gods. A few miles to the west of Leicester Castle lies a district called Dane Hills, there used to exist a cave called Black Annis Bower, which was the entrance to the Witch's lair - stretching all the way to underneath the now ruined castle. The cave entrance was filled in at some point back in the 20th Century and is no longer accessible.
Black Annis is a horrific sight to behold. She looks like a woman with long wild black hair. Her face is said to be blue, and her long fang like teeth and sharp talon nails are said to be made of iron. Black Annis is a cannibal and is said to devour her victims flesh whilst they are still alive. Pure evil in nature, Black Annis is driven by the need to consume human flesh and then chew on her victim's bones until they are gnawed away to dust. Sometimes she takes the form of a beautiful woman, but that is only so she can lure her prey into her bower. Once there she will reveal her true form and eat her luckless victims alive. The floor of her cavern is said to be a carpet of bones which stretch back to the Bronze Age.
On the 30th May 1645 Leicester was besieged, invaded and ransacked by the Royalist army during the English Civil War. A large massacre took place, the streets of Leicester being littered with corpses. It is said that Black Annis crawled up into the city streets and dragged many of the corpses down into her lair. Black Annis feasted well on that night.
POSSIBLY THE OLDEST HAUNTING WITHIN THE BRITISH ISLES.
Another possible contender for that title is a Haunting which stretches back to the Bronze Age, and is located mainly within the North West of England and also the Peak District - That of Jenny Green Teeth. Jenny Green Teeth has much in common with Black Annis. But Jenny Green Teeth is an aquatic version of Black Annis.

Essex Police Museum - Past and Present
The Essex Police Museum, at Essex Police Headquarters in Chelmsford is a treasure chest of historical objects and information, dating back to 1840, all providing clues as to how the police service has developed to be the organisation it is today.
The Museum preserves the history of Essex Police giving visitors, both young and old, the opportunity to get involved in educational and craft activities covering a variety of subject areas including the Victorians and World War II.
Visitors can also view a range of historical materials including personnel, disciplinary and other records together with more general documents and a large photographic collection.
The museum has now become well known as an outstanding educational resource for school children and community groups including Scouts and Guides associations.
In the last five years visitor numbers to the museum have doubled but sadly, due to the current economic climate and pressure on the force budget to find savings of up to £43 million by 2014, the police museum is at threat of closure.
Working with the community on a daily basis Essex Police would like to give local organisations the opportunity to become a partner with the force by sponsoring the Museum. Working together we can help to ensure it stays open to the public, preserves the history of Essex Police officers and staff and continues to inspire even greater achievements from future generations.
The opportunities for organisations to directly support the Essex Police Museum take many forms, for example, you may like to sponsor a particular display within the museum or contribute to educational activities that run throughout school holidays.
For more information on the Essex Police Museum or sponsorship opportunities visit or call the Museum - telephone 01245 452395
