Japanese Street Food Tour | Eating in Togoshi Ginza, Tokyo ????
In this video we try Japanese street food in Tokyo! There are several markets and pedestrian zones to visit in the city, but on this particular day, we decided to go to Togoshi Ginza (戸越銀座商店街) which is the longest shopping street in the city, and also a good place to try street food in Tokyo.
Because we decided to visit on a Monday morning, we found that many of the places were not open, but we still managed to find some Japanese food to try, and many of the dishes were completely new to us.
Of course, we also had our friend Rob join us on this adventure since we were travelling in Tokyo together. You can find his channel here:
But now let's dive into the street food! Here is a complete list of the Japanese dishes that we tried during our visit to Togoshi Ginza (戸越銀座商店街):
1) Korokke (コロッケ): this is a Japanese croquette that can be made with a mixture of meat, seafood or vegetables / ¥ 130-370
2) Melonpan with cream and fruit: this is a sweet and fluffy bread cut in half and filled with cream and fruits like mandarins / ¥ 320
3) Oden (おでん): this is a Japanese dish that is very popular during the winter months. It is a broth with a lot of ingredients such as tofu, radishes, egg, fish paste, etc. / ¥ 320
4) Doughnut: we found a place called Floresta that sold cute doughnuts in the form of animals like cats and dogs. ¥ 180-200
5) Melonpan (メロンパン): this is a sweet bread that bears the name 'melon' because of its shape, but it does not have any melon inside. They sell various flavours such as chocolate, cinnamon, and caramel. / ¥ 180
6) Japanese Whiskey: we ordered a Suntory whiskey with soda to finish the day. / ¥ 400
7) Fried Chicken: we also ordered a plate of fried chicken to share, but it was already towards the end of our visit and after a few whiskeys, I can not remember the price - maybe about ¥ 600-700.
And that concludes our Japanese street food tour in Togoshi Ginza (戸越銀座商店街), Tokyo. We hope you enjoyed this video, and that it gave you some ideas of what you can eat in Japan!

Japanese Street Food Tour | Eating in Togoshi Ginza, Tokyo ???? Travel Video Transcript:
we have another street food video coming your way. Today we are visiting Togoshi Ginza (戸越銀座商店街) which apparently is the longest shopping street in Tokyo. 1.3 kilometers over 400 shops. So this should be exciting. We brought our appetite. We purposely skipped breakfast so let's go eat Japanese street food. Yes.
Oh my goodness so of course we have the bros. Look who is back again for some Japanese street food. Are you hungry my friend? I'm really hungry. And I hope we find some good food. I thought this was going to be more like a Pedestrian street. Yeah. Yes.
Same here. But it is just kind of a there is a decent amount of traffic I have to say. There is a lot of traffic. I mean no foot traffic but there is a lot of real traffic.
Alright let's go in search of Tokyo Street Food.
Got the goods. Yeah. So this is our first street food (Korokke - コロッケ) item here in Tokyo, Japan. So I'm going to unveil here. Check this out. It is a fish. With its tail. Breaded fried fish (Korokke - コロッケ). Breaded fried fish. I've got the shrimp over here. A little shrimp-y.
It kind of started out slow and we might be on Japanese television. And that last stall was filled with interesting characters and good flavors. So all in all just a fun time. It sure was so that concludes our Japanese street food tour. And we will see you with more Japanese food and travel content soon. Ciao for now.
This is part of our Travel in Japan video series showcasing Japanese food, Japanese culture and Japanese attractions.

Street Food Tour in Da Nang Vietnam
While in Da Nang, I joined a street food tour to sample some of the city's specialties and local favourites.
The tour included 5 stops:
Banh Beo
Small steamed rice cakes, most common in Central Vietnam.
They’re topped with a variety of ingredients – typically cooked or dried shrimp, green onions, fried shallots, and mung bean paste. And, it’s served with fish sauce for dipping.
Bun Cha Ca
Fresh fish cakes, served over a bowl of rice noodles in a sweet fish and vegetable broth. It’s accompanied with fresh beansprouts, a variety of fresh herbs, and you throw in chili, pickled vegetables and lime to taste.
Banh Xeo
Vietnamese pancakes stuffed with shrimp, diced green onion, mung bean paste, bean sprouts and pork. You’ll always find a big plate of mixed greens and herbs to go with it.
Banh Mi
Vietnamese banquette stuffed with mayo, pate, pork floss, cucumber, fried shallots, cilantro and topped with pork shoulder.
Rau Cau Dua
Vietnamese coconut jelly.
I highly recommend joining a food tour if you're new to the city and want to learn from a food expert!

Top 5 Thai STREET FOOD Noodle Dishes to Try in Bangkok, Thailand - with Mike Chen!
Join Mike Chen and I as we discover 5 Thai food noodle dishes!

Mike and I decided to go on a Thai street food noodles tour, where we tried 5 different types of Thai street food noodle dishes in one day. Mike was in Bangkok visiting from New York, and we got along very well - both of us are food lovers, and both of us are a little obsessed with spice.
Here are the restaurants where we ate in the Thai street food noodle tour of Bangkok.
1. Wattana Panich (วัฒนาพานิช) - This place is legendary for serving braised beef noodles, and most importantly for their giant everlasting cauldron of simmering meat that never stops. Their classic bowl of beef noodles is a little expensive due to the area and fame, but it’s so good. If you’re more adventurous you can also try their Soup Number 5, and the goat soup which is outstanding.
Kuay teow neua tukyang (ก๋วยเตี๋ยวเนื้อทุกอย่าง beef noodles with everything)
Soup number 5 (ตัวเดียวอันเดียวแพะ bull penis soup)
Sup peh (ซุปแพะ braised goat soup)
Total price - 765 THB ($22.01)
2. Nay Lao Radna Yodpak (นายเหลา ราดหน้ายอดผัก) - At this little restaurant you’ll find one of the best versions of Thai pad see ew in all of Bangkok. It’s smoky, full of flavor, and the egg makes it incredible.
Pad see ew sen yai (ผัดซีอิ๊วเส้นใหญ่)
Pad see ew sen mee paem kai jeow (ผัดซีอิ๊วเส้นหมี่เพิ่มไข่เจียว)
Sen yai radna (เส้นใหญ่ราดหน้า)
5 bowls of noodles - 275 THB ($7.91)
3. Kuay Teow Reua Khon Mee Sen (ก๋วยเตี๋ยวเรือคนมีเส้น) - Boat noodles are probably one of the most locally popular Thai street food noodle of choice in Bangkok. We went to a place that’s a little far out, but it was pretty good. There are also many places to eat boat noodles within Bangkok.
Kuay teow reua nam tok moo (ก๋วยเตี๋ยวเรือน้ำตกหมู)
แคปหมู
Price - 10 THB ($0.29) per bowl
4. Uan Bamee Giew Guangdong (อ้วน บะหมี่เกี๊ยว (กวางตุ้ง) - For years now, this has been one of my personal favorite Thai street food stalls in Bangkok for Thai Chinese egg noodles.
Bamee giew moo daeng haeng (บะหมี่เกี๊ยวหมูแดงแห้ง)
Price - 40 THB ($1.15) per bowl
5. Pad Thai Je Tim (ผัดไทยเจ๊ติ๋ม) - To be honest, we sort of just ran out of time, and needed to take the baby home to sleep, so we weren’t able to eat a better version of Pad Thai. This place was pretty average, but it finished off our 5 Thai noodles tour of Bangkok. For a better Pad Thai, I'd recommend:
Pad Thai goong sod (ผัดไทยกุ้งสด)
Pad Thai haw kai (ผัดไทยห่อไข่)
Total price - 95 THB ($2.73)
Thank you for watching, hope you enjoyed this Thai street food noodles tour of Bangkok!

NEW Rairai Ken is 3-D.29.2012! T.I.C. Restaurant Group
There's no denying that a ramen craze has swept New York City.
Since opening in 2000, Rai Rai Ken has always served MSG-free, Tokyo style ramen in its shitamachi, dive-like restaurant and we're proud to have been one of ramen pioneers. To keep up with demand, we've decided to expand to a bigger space which is twice the size, and to revamp our menu.
That being said, our ramen will continue to be carefully prepared with the best ingredients to achieve that light yet complex taste that our patrons have come to love. We believe that our customers' health and their wallets should not suffer for a mouthwatering bowl of ramen.
So what's new?
Upon stepping into our new Rai Rai Ken, you'll be mesmerized by its festive color and antique pieces inspired by Yokohama's Chinatown --one of the largest Chinatowns in the world and dates back to 1859 when Yokohama Port was opened.
In addition to our new renovations, we're excited to reveal our new menu items such as Simmered Pork Buns, Wonton-men with thin noodles, and Rai Rai Ken salad with kurage. We have many vegetarian friendly items on the menu such as a special ramen prepared with a kelp-based stock and vegetable-rich fried rice.
We also encourage you to try our summer specials: Cold Hiyashi-Chuka Ramen with crunchy vegetables, chicken and our special sauce, and our smooth and creamy Mango Pudding with chewy tapioca and coconut milk.
So come visit our new space on 218 East 10th St. (2 doors down!) and slurp away to your heart's content.
You Bet Your Life: Secret Word - Door / People / Smile
Julius Henry Groucho Marx (October 2, 1890 -- August 19, 1977) was an American comedian and film and television star. He is known as a master of quick wit and widely considered one of the best comedians of the modern era. His rapid-fire, often impromptu delivery of innuendo-laden patter earned him many admirers and imitators. He made 13 feature films with his siblings the Marx Brothers, of whom he was the third-born. He also had a successful solo career, most notably as the host of the radio and television game show You Bet Your Life. His distinctive appearance, carried over from his days in vaudeville, included quirks such as an exaggerated stooped posture, glasses, cigar, and a thick greasepaint mustache and eyebrows. These exaggerated features resulted in the creation of one of the world's most ubiquitous and recognizable novelty disguises, known as Groucho glasses, a one-piece mask consisting of horn-rimmed glasses, large plastic nose, bushy eyebrows and mustache.
Groucho Marx was, and is, the most recognizable and well-known of the Marx Brothers. Groucho-like characters and references have appeared in popular culture both during and after his life, some aimed at audiences who may never have seen a Marx Brothers movie. Groucho's trademark eye glasses, nose, mustache, and cigar have become icons of comedy—glasses with fake noses and mustaches (referred to as Groucho glasses, nose-glasses, and other names) are sold by novelty and costume shops around the world.
Nat Perrin, close friend of Groucho Marx and writer of several Marx Brothers films, inspired John Astin's portrayal of Gomez Addams on the 1960s TV series The Addams Family with similarly thick mustache, eyebrows, sardonic remarks, backward logic, and ever-present cigar (pulled from his breast pocket already lit).
Alan Alda often vamped in the manner of Groucho on M*A*S*H. In one episode, Yankee Doodle Doctor, Hawkeye and Trapper put on a Marx Brothers act at the 4077, with Hawkeye playing Groucho and Trapper playing Harpo. In three other episodes, a character appeared who was named Captain Calvin Spalding (played by Loudon Wainwright III). Groucho's character in Animal Crackers was Captain Geoffrey T. Spaulding.
On many occasions, on the 1970s television sitcom All In The Family, Michael Stivic (Rob Reiner), would briefly imitate Groucho Marx and his mannerisms.
Two albums by British rock band Queen, A Night at the Opera (1975) and A Day at the Races (1976), are named after Marx Brothers films. In March 1977, Groucho invited Queen to visit him in his Los Angeles home; there they performed '39 a capella. A long-running ad campaign for Vlasic Pickles features an animated stork that imitates Groucho's mannerisms and voice. On the famous Hollywood Sign in California, one of the Os is dedicated to Groucho. Alice Cooper contributed over $27,000 to remodel the sign, in memory of his friend.
In 1982, Gabe Kaplan portrayed Marx in the film Groucho, in a one-man stage production. He also imitated Marx occasionally on his previous TV sitcom Welcome Back, Kotter.
Actor Frank Ferrante has performed as Groucho Marx on stage for more than two decades. He continues to tour under rights granted by the Marx family in a one-man show entitled An Evening With Groucho in theaters throughout the United States and Canada with piano accompanist Jim Furmston. In the late 1980s Ferrante starred as Groucho in the off-Broadway and London show Groucho: A Life in Revue penned by Groucho's son Arthur. Ferrante portrayed the comedian from age 15 to 85. The show was later filmed for PBS in 2001. Woody Allen's 1996 musical Everyone Says I Love You, in addition to being named for one of Groucho's signature songs, ends with a Groucho-themed New Year's Eve party in Paris, which some of the stars, including Allen and Goldie Hawn, attend in full Groucho costume. The highlight of the scene is an ensemble song-and-dance performance of Hooray for Captain Spaulding—done entirely in French.
In the last of the Tintin comics, Tintin and the Picaros, a balloon shaped like the face of Groucho could be seen in the Annual Carnival.
In the Italian horror comic Dylan Dog, the protagonist's sidekick is a Groucho impersonator whose character became his permanent personality.
The BBC remade the radio sitcom Flywheel, Shyster and Flywheel, with contemporary actors playing the parts of the original cast. The series was repeated on digital radio station BBC7. Scottish playwright Louise Oliver wrote a play named Waiting For Groucho about Chico and Harpo waiting for Groucho to turn up for the filming of their last project together. This was performed by Glasgow theatre company Rhymes with Purple Productions at the Edinburgh Fringe and in Glasgow and Hamilton in 2007-08. Groucho was played by Scottish actor Frodo McDaniel.
