Nicaragua Surf Camp 2017
In May of 2017 I decided to learn to surf at Chica Brava Surf Camp in San Juan Del Sur, Nicaragua.
Swimming from Playa Maderas to San Juan del Sur, Nicaragua!
One of the crazier things I've done in a while, but that doesn't even compare to my friend Joey who did the swim with me - He broke his back 4 months ago, so this was extra crazy for him!!!
Had an amazing time, saw some incredible scenery, got to hang out with an awesome person and share really cool experiences and nearly die a few times i'm sure! Definitely don't try this by your self - feel free to message me if you want to do because i'll definitely join you haha!
The last part, swimming into the Bay of San Juan del Sur was by far the hardest..the wind and the current turned against us..just what you need at the end of a 4 hour open ocean swim!
When we arrived, we ate all the food and drink in town that we could find, ice cream, coconut for the street vendor, and i don't even remember what else, but it was a lot and it was good!

Playa Remanso
This is the closest break, just 10 minutes south of town. It is a beautiful white sand bay with a small bar on the beach and shaded areas open to everyone. This beach provides long gentle rollers, making it an easy paddle out and fun for all standards of surfing. Ideal for learners!
When swell is too big Playa Remanso boasts some incredible waves. Make sure to ask in local surf shops when is a good time to visit this break depending on your surfing level. If you like cruising longboarding waves this is the beach too head to.
