Peddling Cycle Safety in Collingwood
More and more cyclists are riding on Ontario's roads. As the population grows in cottage communities such as Collingwood, so has the sport. But its popularity has caused some tension and confusion for others on the road - including local police. Ontario Hubs field producer Jeyan Jeganathan gets to the root of the problem.

filmed over an hour on an iphone 5s
got my new 5s the other day and really wanted to make a decent video with it, didnt really ride at 100% as our bikes were in pieces 10 minutes before this from spraypaint, and it was starting to rain, but I took some time to do a decent editing job and play with the slo mo the 5s gives, 120fps is AMAZING to say the least...

Awenda to Craigleith Provincial Park - Ontario Bike Tour #2 - Day 4 of 10
This video summarizes Day 4 of my 10 day solo bicycle trip along the shores of Lake Simcoe and Lake Huron in Southern Ontario, Canada. All of the clips in the video were filmed on Monday July 23, 2018.
Starting from Awenda Provincial Park I exited the park along Awenda Park Rd. I followed Concession 16 E, MacAvalley Rd, Robbs Rd, Champlain Rd and Robert St W into Penetanguishene, ON. After a few stops in Penetang, I headed west along Poyntz St and the Rotary Waterfront Trail to join Overhead Bridge Rd. I turned when I reached Concession 12 E and turned again at Tiny Beaches Rd N. I stayed on this road through Balm Beach and into Wasaga Beach. The name of the road changes to River Rd E. I turned right when I got to Main St and crossed over the Nottawasaga River. After stopping for lunch I continued following the shoreline along Mosley St, 27th St N, 28th St N, Linda Ln, Shore Ln and Beachwood Rd. Eventually this road merges with Highway 26 which lead me into the town of Collingwood. I rode along Hume St past the watertower then turned onto Huronario St leading into Collingwood's historic downtown. After a stop at the Loblaw grocery store I rode west along First St where I eventually joined the Georgian Rail Trail. This trail follows the route of the former Northern Railway Line which goes right past Blue Mountain, Craigleith Ski Club and the Alpine Ski Club. It also goes past the Craigleith Heritage Depot. Shortly after that I turned off the trail at Arrowhead road and entered Craigleith Provincial Park.
Strava for Day 4:
The bike I used for this trip is a New York made Linear Recumbent Bike which I believe is from around 2004. I carried my gear in 2 Giant Waterproof Panniers, and mounted my tent and sleeping pad on the top of the rack.

The Shipyards - Collingwood Waterfront Living
The Shipyards is a landmark development located on the waterfront at the base of Collingwood's downtown. This 40 acre development is the ideal place to enjoy the four season lifestyle that Collingwood has to offer. The Shipyards lies in the middle of Wasaga Beach for summer fun, and Blue Mountain for winter enjoyment, that combined with a lock and leave lifestyle makes it an ideal place to be. Visit for more information and see what's going on in Collingwood this weekend.
GoPro Hero Helmet Snowboard Test @ Blue Mountain - Collingwood ON Canada
I bought myself a GoPro Hero Helmet camera this holiday and took it up to Blue Mountain in Collingwood Ontario for an afternoon of snowboarding with old friends. This was my 4th time on a snowboard, which is also the first time I've tested this camera. Shot all of this footage at 720p 60fps (r3). Edited in Final Cut Pro.
I didn't run any of the footage through Cinema Tools so I still have to find out how to utilize the 1/2 speed recordings. Realizing I should have tried a few other settings with wider angles (r2) & (r4). Next time I plan on tilting the camera up just a bit to capture more of the horizon. I've also built a pole mount with the mountain bike seat post attachment that I need to try out. Also needed to apply a solid layer of hockey tape to the inside of the quick-release device on the helmet in order to reduce camera wiggle. This is definitely the biggest flaw of the mounting / quick-release device for the camera.
This is a great camera for action sports and works best when shooting outdoors with lots of natural light. This camera is also great because you can review your form and work on improving your snowboarding skills, or whatever else you are into. As you can see, I need use my arms more to assist my turning & balance. This day at Blue Mountain was quite overcast & cloudy, filmed between 1:00pm and 4:30pm on Jan 2nd 2011.
Please rate & enjoy!
