British Columbia's history was built on small towns with industries that were at sometimes good and sometimes not so good. Pretty well as was the case in Europe and USA. They had jobs that paid well allowing people to move up the economic scale.
How things change as almost everywhere we travel, tourism and service sector jobs dominate.

Best of TCT-Columbia & Western
At 912m, the Bulldog Tunnel is the longest tunnel in southern BC, and perhaps the longest that is part of the Trans Canada Trail. It is found on the Columbia & Western Trail, near Castlegar.
Kekuli Bay - Kal-Crystal Waters trail loop hike
This 7.5 km loop hike begins at Kekuli Bay provincial Park. Get on the rail trail and go south to about KM 11. 25 (ish) You'll see the marker and trail head for the Kal-Crystal Waters trail. Follow the trail north, back to Kekuli Bay.
GOFAR | Rail Rides & Dirt Roads Ep. 9
I have wanted to do this ride for the past two years and for one reason or another it never happened. Well, this year I found a couple of new friends to ride. Jason and Meaghan.
Even this years ride was in question as it was put off till October and when we headed out it was a little chilly but it did warm up and turn into a nice day.
We road from Castlegar B.C. to Christina Lake on an old railbed that had been donated for trail use and then from Christina Lake to Rossland via the Old Cascade Highway.
