Oh how i wish we were in DC to see the New MLK JR memorial. I hope we can return one day to see it.
All I'm saying is simply this, that all life is interrelated, that somehow we're caught in an inescapable network of mutuality tied in a single garment of destiny. Whatever affects one directly affects all indirectly. For some strange reason, I can never be what I ought to be until you are what you ought to be. You can never be what you ought to be until I am what I ought to be. This is the interrelated structure of reality.

Cast of 'Homeland' attend Season 3 premiere in Washington
'HOMELAND' SEASON 3 PREMIERES IN DC
The Corcoran Gallery of Art rolled out the red carpet in Washington on Monday night (9 SEPT 2013) for a private screening of the third season premiere of the hit series Homeland.
Showtime and Fox 21 hosted the event, attended by series cast members Claire Danes (Carrie Mathison), Damian Lewis (Nicholas Brody), Mandy Patinkin (Saul Berenson), and Morena Baccarin (Jessica Brody), as well as the show's executive producers, Alex Gansa and Alex Cary.
The psychological drama revolves around bipolar CIA officer Carrie Mathison (Danes) and her efforts to thwart an Al Qaeda attack on American soil.
Officially, the latest episode premieres on Showtime September 29 at 9pm ET/PT, though a pirated version leaked online earlier this month and was said to be downloaded more than 100,000 times.
I don't think everyone was best pleased about that initially but I think it turns out no one is actually to blame, explained Lewis from the red carpet.
I just think it was bad security online. Anyway, so it got hacked. I think, you know, if I was an exec I would think, 'A little bit of publicity, that's quite nice, lets make sure not too many people see it so we can hold it back for the premiere.'
So for those who haven't seen the leaked version, what can fans expect from the new season?
Well Carrie has a rough go of it. I mean, when does she not really? said Danes of her character.
I think she feels profound guilt for having failed to anticipate this attack, you know, obviously the attack that devastated so much of the CIA in the finale, so she's just reeling from that really and the CIA is held under serious investigation and they're having to defend their existance basically. Saul is in a position of authority and leadership, which we haven't necessarily seen him assume, so that puts him in a new light, which is interesting.
You get to see a bit more of the home life without Brody, how they're picking up the pieces and moving forward, said a heavily pregnant Morena Baccarin.
There's a lot of conflict between Jessica and Dana, a lot of growth that happens there and a lot of heartbreak.
Patinkin wouldn't reveal any spoilers but instead hailed the show's writers.
I won't give you any details. I will say that as an actor in it I have not been disappointed one iota as each script has come to me, he said.
I think it is thrilling what these writers are doing. I think they go into new territory that I haven't imagined. I'm already able to see where some possibilities are existing for season four by what's happening and I think these writers are as good as they come or have ever been.
Homeland is currently nominated for 11 Emmy Awards, including best drama. The show is based on the Israeli television series, Prisoners of War.

SUMMARY
=======
Washington, D.C., formally the District of Columbia and commonly referred to as Washington or D.C., is the capital of the United States. Founded after the American Revolution as the seat of government of the newly independent country, Washington was named after George Washington, first President of the United States and Founding Father. Washington is the principal city of the Washington metropolitan area, which has a population of 6,131,977. As the seat of the United States federal government and several international organizations, the city is an important world political capital. Washington is one of the most visited cities in the world, with more than 20 million annual tourists. The signing of the Residence Act on July 16, 1790, approved the creation of a capital district located along the Potomac River on the country's East Coast. The U.S. Constitution provided for a federal district under the exclusive jurisdiction of the Congress, and the District is therefore not a part of any state. The states of Maryland and Virginia each donated land to form the federal district, which included the pre-existing settlements of Georgetown and Alexandria. The City of Washington was founded in 1791 to serve as the new national capital. In 1846, Congress returned the land originally ceded by Virginia; in 1871, it created a single municipal government for the remaining portion of the District.
Washington had an estimated population of 693,972 as of July 2017, making it the 20th largest American city by population. Commuters from the surrounding Maryland and Virginia suburbs raise the city's daytime population to more than one million during the workweek. The Washington metropolitan area, of which the District is the principal city, has a population of over 6 million, the sixth-largest metropolitan statistical area in the country.
All three branches of the U.S. federal government are centered in the District: U.S. Congress (legislative), President (executive), and the U.S. Supreme Court (judicial). Washington is home to many national monuments and museums, which are primarily situated on or around the National Mall. The city hosts 177 foreign embassies as well as the headquarters of many international organizations, trade unions, non-profit, lobbying groups, and professional associations, including the Organization of American States, AARP, the National Geographic Society, the Human Rights Campaign, the International Finance Corporation, and the American Red Cross.
A locally elected mayor and a 13‑member council have governed the District since 1973. However, Congress maintains supreme authority over the city and may overturn local laws. D.C. residents elect a non-voting, at-large congressional delegate to the House of Representatives, but the District has no representation in the Senate. The District receives three electoral votes in presidential elections as permitted by the Twenty-third Amendment to the United States Constitution, ratified in 1961.

CLIENT REPLAY Machine that hands out random compliments
1. Mid shot, couple walk past compliment box
2. UPSOUND: (English) Audio from Compliment Box:
People look to you for advice.
3. SOUNDBITE: (English) Tom Greaves, artist:
It's really just to explore, I guess, the idea of compliments - how people give them, how people receive them, the different types. Maybe you get one that really doesn't apply to you but maybe it aspires you to maybe be more like the compliment said, you know. So that was the idea.
4. Pan of man listening
5. SOUNDBITE: (English) Nicholas Williams, Washington resident who lives near the compliment box:
It said 'people are drawn to your personality'. I don't know. They are drawn to my height, I can tell you that, but not about the personality. I'd like to think so.
6. UPSOUND: (English) Audio from Compliment Box:
You add a little mystery to life.
7. SOUNDBITE: (English) Mike Reynolds, Washington resident who lives near the compliment box
I just... I guess I noticed this week and I walk by this block about twice a day and I think it is kind of a fun, neat idea. I think they have funny little quirky art things around these buildings and so it is always something new to pay attention to and to look at.
8. Various views of Greaves at his stall at Eastern Market
9. SOUNDBITE: (English) Tom Greaves, artist:
On the machine, at first I was messing with a motion detector so that when people would walk up, you know, they would get a compliment or they could push a button or maybe a mat you stepped on that activated the machine - but you don't always get that in life. You don't get compliments when you want them. So, it is kind of a random kind of act and then you take them when you get them. Hopefully you do.
10. Close-up as woman walks past box, tilt up to bookstore sign
11. SOUNDBITE: (English) Candida Mannozzi, owner of bookshop near the compliment box:
Yeah, people are mostly having a good time with it.
(UPSOUND: (English) Audio from compliment box: You appreciate small things.)
They are intrigued, they enjoy it. They laugh with it. One of my customers came in and said it told me 'I smell good, I know I don't I just finished jogging'. He was covered in streaming sweat, so yeah - people are having fun with it.
12. Close-up as Donald Taylor walks over to compliment box
13. SOUNDBITE: (English) Donald Taylor, Washington resident:
The box out here is very nice. It makes their day be more cheerful. People walk by, if you look at people they smile while they are here. It gives out good pleasant thoughts.
14. Pull back from compliment box as people walk by
15. UPSOUND: (English) Audio from Compliment Box:
You really know how to take a compliment.
STORYLINE:
Fishing for compliments will certainly be rewarded if you head for a small corner of the US capital Washington, DC.
A small white box with red stripes, located on 14th Street, is handing out random compliments to all passers-by.
The brain child of local artist Tom Greaves, The Compliment Machine is part of SitesProject D.C., an arts project by the Washington Project for the Arts and the Corcoran Gallery.
The compliments given out by the machine are completely random, and Greaves admits they probably won't suit all of their recipients.
Maybe you get one that really doesn't apply to you but maybe it aspires you to maybe be more like the compliment said, Greaves surmised.
For the most part, the residents of this part of north-west Washington seem amused, sometimes puzzled, by the machine and its compliments.
Resident Mike Reynolds thinks it is kind of a fun, neat idea, while Nicholas Williams said that the machine was wide of the mark when it said people were drawn to his personality.
