Hey guys, today we are here at Manuel Antonio National Park, we're here with Daniel who is going to be our guide today and so we're hoping to see some really cool wildlife and get to know the park a little better with our trusty guide so we can't wait to show you guys so let's go.
Although it is the smallest national park in Costa Rica, Manuel Antonio National Park is the most visited national park in the country and the second most visited in Latin America. Just 3 hours from San Jose International Airport, Manuel Antonio is one of the must see places in Costa Rica thanks to the beautiful white sand beaches and exotic wildlife.
For anyone who really wants to see wildlife in the park, we highly recommend getting a guide. Manuel Antonio National Park is home to over 300 species of birds, over 100 species of mammals and over 300 species of plants. In this park alone, you can see three different types of monkeys and both the two and 3 fingered sloths.
By getting a guide, you will have greater chances to see the wildlife. Our guide found lots of interesting animals for us like sloths, a laughing falcon, insects and other birds and he shared a lot of fascinating information about the rainforest, beaches and mangroves inside the park. You can find guides to hire at the entrance of the national park or you can book a tour which also includes transportation and the national park entrance fee.
The park has several trails, including one universal access trail and you can hike to a waterfall and to several different viewpoints. There are a few beaches inside the park which are very nice for swimming.
It's worth spending one full day at Manuel Antonio National Park to enjoy the stunning beaches, hike a little through the lush rainforest and see the wildlife that call this amazing place home.

Good morning everybody, today we're doing the Damas Island mangrove boat tour. Hopefully we'll see a lot of cool wildlife in this beautiful place near Manuel Antonio, so let's go and check it out.
Just a 15 minute drive outside of Manuel Antonio lies the Damas Island, an island surrounded by estuaries lined with coastal mangrove forest. Tourists can take a river boat safari tour through Damas Island to see the surrounding mangroves and estuaries and to spot the exotic wildlife that lives there.
On our 2 hour boat tour, our guide taught us about the incredible mangrove ecosystem including the different types of mangrove trees. As we boated through the mangroves in our covered riverboat, we saw a ton of wildlife including a crocodile, monkeys, a boa constrictor that only lives in mangroves, herons, kingfishers, iguanas and bats all thanks to our boat captain and guide's sharp eyes.
They also offer this tour by way of kayak and visitors can choose which one they'd like to do. Kayaking through the mangroves allows you to get closer to wildlife without disturbing them and to go through channels where large motorized boats can't go.
For anyone who wants a fantastic, leisurely wildlife watching experience in Manuel Antonio, the Damas Island is an excellent tour, especially for families.
We just finished the Damas Island mangrove tour, it was very beautiful, it was actually really cool we got to go around the mangroves to learn about the different types of trees and saw a lot of wildlife. So I hope you guys enjoy this video and if you want to learn more about doing this tour just click on the links below and thank you for watching.

Manuel Antonio National Park, in Spanish the Parque Nacional Manuel Antonio, is a small National Park in the Central Pacific Conservation Area located on the Pacific coast of Costa Rica, just south of the city of Quepos, Puntarenas, and 132 km (82 mi) from the national capital of San Jose.
Established in 1972 with an area enumerating 4,014 acres (16.24 km2) (the smallest of any Costa Rican national park), it is the destination of as many as 150,000 visitors annually and well known for its beautiful beaches and hiking trails.
Four beaches are contained within the limits of the park: Manuel Antonio, Espadilla Sur, Teldoro, and Playita. With their large light sand beach, it is easy to see why they attract beach goers of all ages.
Both Manuel Antonio and Espadilla Sur contain tidal pools and offer the possibility of snorkeling.
Although Manuel Antonio National Park is Costa Rica's smallest national park, the diversity of wildlife in its 6.83 km2 (3 sq mi) is unequaled with 109 species of mammals and 184 species of birds.
Both Brown-throated Three-toed Sloth and Hoffmann's Two-toed Sloth (perezosos) are a major feature, as are three of Costa Rica's four monkey species at the Mantled Howler monkey, Central American Squirrel Monkey, and White-headed Capuchin monkey.
Black Spiny-tailed Iguana, Green Iguana, Common Basilisk, White-nosed Coati and many snake and bat species are also common in the park. Dolphins can be observed there, as well as the occasional migrating whale.
Scuba diving, snorkeling, sea kayaking, mountain biking, and hiking provide opportunities to experience the tropical wildlife that enriches Manuel Antonio.
Manuel Antonio is Costa Rica's second most visited park behind the Poas Volcano National Park which lies very close to San Jose, the country's largest urban area.
The park's popularity has led to development of the surrounding areas, with environmental impacts to nearby forests and beaches..
The Pacific Ocean in front of Manuel Antonio National Park is also world renowned for its fishing.
From November to April it is not uncommon for a typical angler to release multiple billfish in the over 100 pound range.
Manuel Antonio is the most visited national park in Costa Rica, attracting over 250,000 people each year to its wide beaches and troops of monkeys that frequent the area.
The park consists of mangrove swamps, primary rainforests and marshy woodlands and is bordered by the clear waters of the Pacific Ocean.
It is a haven for over 100 mammal species including the highly endangered squirrel monkey.
The park has white sand beaches ideal for swimming, and forest trails snake along the coast to breathtaking lookout points.
Visitors can hire their own naturalist guide for around $20 per person to tour the national park a great deal considering the guides are well-versed in native flora and fauna, and the income helps support the local economy.
There are several islands within the park s boundaries that serve as important nesting grounds for birds like the brown booby, frigate bird and anhinga.
The shores are also occasional nesting grounds for Olive Ridley and Pacific green turtles.
The park is accessed by crossing the Camaronera stream that varies in depth from ankle to knee-deep.
