A Trip Around Sheldon
Quick test around Sheldon (Birmingham) with a cheap n' nasty DVR D011 bike cam. Stitched together with Windows Movie Maker, compresssed with FFmpeg using Xvid, 2000 bit rate.
Note: the timestamp can't be removed, is a pain to set and easily lost hence WRONG in video.
For the record my bike isn't White and the wind hasn't blown through my hair in a long while.
A Weekend in The Cotswolds | Sophie's Suitcase
The Cotswolds is a magical place. And only two hours from London, it’s hard to remember the hustle and bustle of the city, when you’ve entered the peaceful villages of The Cotswolds. The Cotswolds is one of my calm places. Beautifully rural, with rolling hills, stone villages, winter walks and a beer by the roaring fire in a local pub, but with easy accessibility from London. It is also becoming a foodie capital of the country with amazing pubs, restaurants and cafes popping up all over the region. Whether you fancy a good walk, pub lunch, or a pamper at a spa, there is no better place than The Cotswolds.

Inside Meghan Markle's low-key Soho Farmhouse hen do
As a future member of the royal family, Meghan Markle could have indulged in the most lavish of hen dos ahead of her big day.But the fuss-free bride-to-be chose to keep her celebrations simple with a low-key weekend away - albeit at one of Britain's most exclusive country retreats. The 36-year-old, who will tie the knot with Prince Harry at Windsor Castle on May 19, was whisked off to A-list favourite Soho Farmhouse, in Oxfordshire, for a two-night stay with some of her closest friends earlier this month.Organising the weekend was Markus Anderson, a consultant at Soho House Group, according to a new report in OK! Magazine. And for those who couldn't make the party, including her mother Doria, who lives in LA, and the heavily pregnant Duchess of Cambridge, there will reportedly be a second bridal shower taking place closer to the wedding itself. But first FEMAIL takes a look at what happened at the hen party of the year, including their long lunches, early nights - and complete ban on social media. While Meghan Markle previously joked about having her hen do in Cardiff, it appears she changed her mind and opted for one of her favourite UK retreats instead. The £6,000-a-night Soho Farmhouse at Great Tew in the Cotswolds has been labelled 'Butlins for toffs' and boasts celebrity guests such as Eddie Redmayne, Mark Ronson, Poppy Delevingne and George and Amal Clooney. It also holds fond memories for Meghan as she has previously stayed there with former Made In Chelsea star Millie Mackintosh and visited twice with fiance Harry, 33, during their whirlwind romance last year. The private members' club-cum-hotel, which has become a haven for stars who want to go under the radar, offers a number of luxury cabins that cost up to £725 a night.Meanwhile the main Farm House, which can sleep 14 adults, is £6,000 a night.Soho Farmhouse also offers a range of dining options, including an all-day restaurant, a country pub and a Japanese grill.Crucially, Soho Farmhouse has a total ban on social media, making it the perfect getaway for a high-profile bride-to-be like Meghan. Two of Meghan's closest friends, Pilates instructor Heather Dorak and New York-based TV producer Lindsay Jill Ross are believed to have made the trip from the US for the weekend event.Meghan describes Lindsay, whom she met at Northwestern University, as her 'sister' and was her maid of honour at her wedding in Greece in 2016.Mother Doria Radlan, 61, will play an important part in the wedding but did not make the journey from Los Angeles, the Sun previously reported. Also missing was her future sister-in-law, the Duchess of Cambridge, 36, who is heavily pregnant with her third child. While Millie Mackintosh was once thought to have been in the running to be named a bridesmaid, OK! claims this is no longer the case, adding that the reality star was not present at the hen do either.Other members of Ms Markle's high-profile girl gang including Serena Williams, actress Priyanka Chopra, Suits co-star Abigail Sp
NECHELLS AND DUDDESTON REDEVELOPMENT 1958
It is hard to believe that this film is 61 years old.
The first ever high rise flats to be built in Birmingham were known as The Duddeston Four, they are called: Home Tower, Queens Tower, High Tower on Duddeston Manor Rd & South Tower (which is situated about 100 yards away from the main 3 tower blocks, due to Loxton St School being in the way (which was later knocked down and replaced by Duddeston Manor School)
High Tower (the last block in the 3) was one of my 6 Nechells homes from 1970-1972 as my Father was a Caretaker of all the 4 different Nechells Estates from 1961-1979.
The flats were truly modern, the whole estate had Central Heating Radiators & running hot water all supplied by the boiler house, located in Home Tower (the block of flats nearest to the camera) a kitchen sink that had a waste disposal system in for household rubbish, a hot towel rail in the bathroom. They even had an outhouse where you hung up the washing to dry, you didn't need to go out, you can actually see these outhouses by the communal staircase windows in the middle of the block as the camera pans up.
I eventually left the area in 1982, but have dozens of old friends who still live there.
The estate has just undergone a multi-million Pound refurb:
EastSide City Park Opening 2013
Here is the musical event from when the new EastSide Park in Birmingham City Centre opened. Filmed & Edited By Calum Wilkes
The Ghosts of Old Yardley Park
A survey of the haunted park, the site of which was an old Medieval Graveyard. Old Yardley Park is located in the district of Yardley, Birmingham, England. It is located in the most historic area of the district, called Old Yardley, around St Edburgh Church, a 13th Century construction and one of only four remaining Medieval Churches within the city of Birmingham itself.
Though the graveyard of St Edburgh is free of Gravestones (most were cleared in the 1980s) the original size of the Medieval Graveyard was much bigger than the Graveyard today. Old Yardley Park was founded upon a Medieval Graveyard. The Medieval dead were not removed, they were just forgotten about.
It is believed the hauntings which occur are generated by these Medieval Ghosts. None of these Ghosts can be identified by name and the few times they have been witnessed by the living is normally in the shape of dark shadows, ethereal and fleeting by nature. These Ghosts do not seem to notice the living.
St Edburgh is not haunted itself, but has a haunting attached to it. St Edburgh holds the Grave and mortal remains of a Reverend Charles Wigley ( 1804 - 1830 ) who is known to haunt a building called Malvern Hall, in Solihull, only 6 miles away, since his untimely death.

A History Of Birmingham
A History Of Birmingham Narrated By Jenny Wilkes.
This superb film charts the history of Birmingham from its Anglo-Saxon origins up to present day. Looking at the effect of events like the Norman Conquest, The English Civil War & The Industrial Revolution on the town & industries.
The video also covers the expansion of Birmingham following its inauguration as a city when it took in areas like Aston, Kings Norton, Northfield, Yardley, Sheldon & Edgbaston.
It looks into the history of three of Birmingham's best known companies: Cadbur, B.s.a. & Austin, and brings the development of Birmingham up to date with the opening of the International Convention Centre.
It is informative, entertaining & provides A fascinating insight into the growth of Birmingham from A tiny Saxon settlement to Britain's provincial capital.
