The Wake By Josh Woodward -
St Mary Redcliffe, a beautiful Church - located in Bristol, England
St. Mary Redcliffe is an Anglican parish church located in the Redcliffe district of Bristol, England. The church is a short walk from Bristol Temple Meads. The church building was constructed from the 12th to the 15th centuries, and it has been a place of Christian worship for over 900 years. The church is renowned for the beauty of its Gothic architecture and is classed as a Grade I listed building by Historic England.[1][2] It was famously described by Queen Elizabeth I as the fairest, goodliest, and most famous parish church in England.[3][4]
Little remains of the earliest churches on the site although a little of the fabric has been dated to the 12th century. Much of the current building dates from the late 13th and 14th centuries when it was built and decorated by wealthy merchants of the city whose tomb and monuments decorate the church. The spire fell after being struck by lightning in 1446 and was not rebuilt until 1872. Little of the original stained glass remains following damage in the English Civil War with extensive new glass being added during the Victorian era. The tower contains 15 bells designed for full-circle English-Style change ringing. Other music in the church is provided by several choirs and the Harrison & Harrison organ.
Christianity:
Christianity[note 1] is a Abrahamic monotheistic[1] religion based on the life, teachings, and miracles of Jesus of Nazareth, known by Christians as the Christ, or Messiah, who is the focal point of the Christian faiths. It is the world's largest religion,[2][3] with over 2.4 billion followers,[4][5][6] or 33% of the global population, known as Christians.[note 2] Christians make up a majority of the population in 158 countries and territories.[6] They believe that Jesus is the Son of God and the savior of humanity whose coming as the Messiah (the Christ) was prophesied in the Old Testament.[7] Christianity has played a prominent role in the shaping of Western civilization.[8][9][10][11][12]
Christianity grew out of Judaism[13][14][15] and began as a Second Temple Judaic sect in the mid-1st century.[16][17] Originating in the Roman province of Judea, it quickly spread to Europe, Syria, Mesopotamia, Anatolia, Transcaucasia, Egypt, Ethiopia and the Indian subcontinent, and by the end of the 4th century had become the official state church of the Roman Empire.[18][19][20] Following the Age of Discovery, Christianity spread to the Americas, Oceania, sub-Saharan Africa and the rest of the world through missionary work and colonization.[21][22][23]
United States:
The United States of America (USA), commonly known as the United States (U.S.) or America (/əˈmɛrɪkə/), is a federal republic[16][17] composed of 50 states, a federal district, five major self-governing territories, and various possessions.[fn 6] Forty-eight states and the federal district are contiguous and located in North America between Canada and Mexico. The state of Alaska is in the northwest corner of North America, bordered by Canada to the east and across the Bering Strait from Russia to the west. The state of Hawaii is an archipelago in the mid-Pacific Ocean. The U.S. territories are scattered about the Pacific Ocean and the Caribbean Sea, stretching across nine official time zones. The extremely diverse geography, climate and wildlife of the United States make it one of the world's 17 megadiverse countries.[19]
At 3.8 million square miles (9.8 million km2)[20] and with over 324 million people, the United States is the world's third- or fourth-largest country by total area,[fn 7] and the third-most populous. The capital is Washington, D.C., and the largest city is New York City; twelve other major metropolitan areas—each with at least 4.5 million inhabitants—are Los Angeles, Chicago, Dallas, Houston, Washington, D.C., Philadelphia, Miami, Atlanta, Boston, San Francisco, Phoenix, and Riverside.
St Mary Redcliffe - A Gothic Church in Bristol UK
St Mary Redcliffe Church has stood here in Bristol for over 800 years. The skills, talents and attention to detail of craftsmen and craftswomen over the centuries, and the faithfulness and care of a multitude of generations of Christians is what makes this particular Church so magnificent.

Okra glass in Wordsley - The birth place of British glassmaking
Okra glass in Wordsley, West Midlands, (The birthplace of British glassmaking) is a long established glass studio that produces unique objets d'art of the highest quality that I personally have to liken to the likes of Faberge or Lalique.
Richard Golding, Master Glassmaker, is now passing on his unique skills and knowledge to his new Master Glassmaker partners, Karinna Sellars and Dean Hopkins.
One of the keys to their ongoing success is the development of their own recipes for clear and coloured glass, teamed with constant exploration of surface decoration. Working with the most demanding of creative materials, they have created a distinctive colour palette of rich tones and beautiful iridescent effects that are now the hallmark of Okra.
Over the years Okra Glass has been through many changes and has relocated a number of times but it still remains one of the most successful and recognised glass studios in Britain today. The creations of new designs by the dynamic alliance are eagerly awaited and every piece is specially hand made, a timeless record of Richard, Dean and Karinna's skills.
This year will celebrate 30 years of Okra Glass so now is the perfect time to join our 'Okra Glass Collectors Guild'. Launched in 1997, it continues to flourish and offers members invitations to demonstration days and the chance to view and purchase exclusive pieces as well as preview new designs. First hand feedback from our collectors is always of paramount importance and is highly treasured.

Willie T. is an 8 metre marine ply built boards cruiser. She has a host of marine spares for those who are renovating a vintage vessel.
Bristol Harbour Auction Item 5
Country Girl, is a Classic Impala 20. No 50243. This classic river cruiser was last registered in 2013 sadly it has been left idle since then. The rain has got in so the boat has about 3cm of standing water in the main cabin. In Main cabin there is a fitted stainless steel sink, with a 2 burner gas ring, and a cassette toilet by Porta Potty. The floor in the rear seating and helm area is in need replacing in-fact she is in need of a little TLC. That aside the boat has a steering helm with remote engine and gearbox controls which leads to a Suzuki DT 40 outboard engine engine not started but has compression. With some hard work the Country Girl could once again grace the waterways of Gloucestershire and Somerset.

Bristol Harbour Auction Item 6 Island Rose
sland Rose, is a 8 metre Broads Cruiser No 78508. Once again this vessel has been abandoned and left idle for a few years. There is approximately 3cm of standing rain water in the main cabin. The large main cabin has approximately 6ft standing hight, fitted sink, table and separate WC with cassette toilet there is also a raised sleeping area. The Island Rose is powered by a Ford diesel 4 cylinder marine engine, “The engine has not been tested therefor being sold as no-running”. This well proportioned vessel with it’s sleek lines, sliding windows and mains power supply “not tested” with a little imagination and commitment can be rejuvenated into a wonderful family cruiser.

Item 13 Marguerite is a 6 meter day sailer, ideal for a novice sailer, the cabin is not fitted out and she is in need of new rigging. We believe she has a full set of sails including a spinnaker with spinnaker arm and boom along with the helm located in the cabin. With a little TLC she could be ready for the summer, as alway there is about 3cm of rain water on the cabin floor.
Carriage
A carriage is a wheeled vehicle for people, usually horse-drawn; litters and sedan chairs are excluded, since they are wheelless vehicles. The carriage is especially designed for private passenger use and for comfort or elegance, though some are also used to transport goods. It may be light, smart and fast or heavy, large and comfortable. Carriages normally have suspension using leaf springs, elliptical springs or leather strapping. A public passenger vehicle would not usually be called a carriage – terms for such include stagecoach, charabanc and omnibus. Working vehicles such as the wagon and cart share important parts of the history of the carriage, as is the fast chariot.

Aviation in World War I
World War I was the first time that aircraft were used on a large scale. Tethered observation balloons had already been employed in several wars, and would be used extensively for artillery spotting. Germany employed Zeppelins for reconnaissance over the North Sea and Baltic and also for strategic bombing raids over England and the Eastern Front.
Aeroplanes were just coming into military use at the outset of the war. Initially, they were used mostly for reconnaissance. Pilots and engineers learned from experience, leading to the development of many specialized types, including fighters, bombers, and ground-attack aeroplanes.
