Winter at The Hopewell Rocks
Here is an insider's peek at The Hopewell Rocks in winter. This short clip is a combination of walking on the ocean floor, flying overhead with a drone, and even capturing a faint bit of Aurora during a night shoot. As always, please remember that the Hopewell Rocks is a dangerous place in the winter so please to not attempt exploring without an experienced guide.
The Northern Lights at The Hopewell Rocks
On September the 10th, 2014 there was a large solar flare resulting in the possibility of Northern Lights in Southern New Brunswick on the 12th. My son and I headed down to The Hopewell Rocks on the off chance we could capture something. After a few test shots, I decided to set the camera to create a time lapse. I shot one photo every 18 seconds for approximately an hour and a half. We started just after full dark and ended after the moon was well above the horizon (washing out the brilliant aurora).

The Hopewell Rocks - OFFICIAL Time Lapse video of 45.6 foot tide
The Hopewell Rocks Tidal Exploration Site is a fantastic place to experience the Bay of Fundy's world famous tides. To help our guests understand a full tide cycle, we set up a camera and took 1 photograph per minute from before sunrise until after sunset. The resulting 926 photos were then each used as a frame of video to create this glimpse of the world's largest tides. To fully appreciate this natural wonder, come spend a day with us on the ocean floor.

Star Trails at Cape Enrage
Cape Enrage lighthouse is located in rural Albert County, New Brunswick. It is far enough from major cities to afford an amazing 360 degree view of the night skies. I shot this time lapse in early November when the temperature was just below freezing (but the wind made it feel much colder).
Jupiter Rising (half speed)
Winter has fallen on The Hopewell Rocks and with it has come snow and crisp clear nights. This clip starts around 8:00 pm and continues until midnight ... capturing the change in light as the moon rose.
This version is slowed down to better appreciate the fast moving clouds.
New Brunswick
New Brunswick (French: Nouveau-Brunswick; pronounced: [nu.vo.bʁœn.swik], Quebec French pronunciation: [nu.vo.bʁɔn.zwɪk] ( )) is one of Canada's three Maritime provinces and is the only province in the Canadian federation that is constitutionally bilingual (English–French). It was created as a result of the partitioning of the British Colony of Nova Scotia in 1784. Fredericton is the capital and Saint John is the most populous city. Greater Moncton (Moncton, Dieppe, Riverview) forms the province's largest census metropolitan area. In the 2011 nation wide census, Statistics Canada estimated the provincial population to have been 751,171. The majority of the population is English-speaking, but there is also a large Francophone minority (33%), chiefly of Acadian origin.
