Here I am, swimming with the sharks again on a breezy afternoon in Colorado Springs. I really wanted to stay in for the whole race, but my usual lapse of attention and a rather crazy month caught up with me. Still, an honor to line up with some fast dudes.

Introducing the 4130 Road Bikes - State Goes Geared!
Introducing the State Bicycle Co. 4130 Road Bike. Built on the double butted 4130 Chromoly frames that the company was founded on, this stunning machine pays homage to classic road bikes with plenty of modern qualities. Distinct to the 4130 Road is a highly-responsive classic 8-speed down tube shifting. The bike sports a fully CNC machined crank with 44t chainring with an 11-28 cassette, giving a versatile range to any rider in the city. While keeping classic styling, up-to-date features like a 1 1/8 threadless stem and light-weight wide rims capable of handling 32c clearance. State Bicycle Co. paid attention to every detail in our first geared-road bike offering, with special ornamentation on the brake levers, hubs, brake pad holders, saddle and more. The frame accommodates both front and rear racks. This bike is the perfect commuter for anyone who loves the clean, timeless aesthetic offered by State Bicycle Co. but needs the gears to help with a hilly commute.

Riding Fixed, Up Mountains, With Pros. - Ep. 9 Mt. Graham w/ Eric Marcotte
We like to think of Eric Marcotte as The People's Champ. For most cycling fans, his claim to fame is winning BOTH the US Pro National Road Race and the US Pro National Criterium while maintaining is full-time chiropractic practice - seeing dozens of clients each week. In Episode 9, we travel to Safford, AZ, home of the Arizona State Hill Climb Championship on Mount Graham that twists up more than 6,000 ft of elevation gain on what appears to be the wet dream of a civil engineer. Eric chats with State Bicycle Co. team newcomer, Chris Tolley, on unorthodox training methods, music, and nutrition.
About the Series: Riding Fixed, Up Mountains, With Pros. The concept is simple, we wanted to get to know our favorite Pro cyclists and what better way to conduct a natural interview than on the bike, taking them out of their comfort zone just a bit by doing in with NO GEARS (and no brakes sometimes).
