Summiting Crown Mountain in North Vancouver, BC
Carl scrambling on the edge of Crown Peak. Crown Mountain offers epic views over Vancouver, British Columbia, and of course of the surrounding mountain range.
CROWN MOUNTAIN - Hiking Vancouver, BC Canada
Crown Mountain is the most dangerous hike I did that season. From a height of 1,504 m, Crown Mountain offers one of the most spectacular views from any of the North Shore summits. Nestled behind Grouse Mountain in Lynn Headwaters Regional Park, this is not an easy hike, but is well worth the effort.
With a stunning panoramic view of Vancouver as you look down over the peaks of Goat Mountain and Grouse Mountain to the south, and with a cascade of mountains to the north, east and west, it’s a view that’s hard to beat. Best of all, there are 3 starting points to choose from, to make an already challenging hike even more strenuous if you wish.

Crown Mountain - Vancouver BC
We took the risk to do this hike despite the cloudy weather. We didn't see any view for the most part, even when we got to the top. There were maybe 6-8 people when we got to the top. We patiently waited but the weather got worse, more fog and wind. People slowly went back down until it was only me and my friend left.
We were about to leave when a small window of view was seen. We stayed a little longer and it got more clear.
We were both so stoked how it turned out. So happy to finally tick off Crown Mountain off the list.

Crown Mountain via The Grouse Grind - in 4K
On October 6, 2018 I set out on a hike up Crown Mountain. I started out by going up the Grouse Grind Trail which takes you to the lodge area. From there I followed the Alpine and Ridge Trails all the way to Crown Mountain.
There is plenty of class 3 hiking on this trip, so come prepared; it's very steep and dangerous in spots. It was neat to see the 2 grizzlies up close and personal. There was even a large black bear on the trail to Crown, and I think it was just as spooked as me.
My trip totals were 7 hours, 12.7km, and around 4400 feet elevation gain.
THANK YOU!
& for allowing me to use your fine works of art in my video.
HIKING | Crown Mountain
Taking advantage of the last few sunny Vancouver days to hike up Crown Mountain taking the BCMC route to the trailhead in Lynn Headwaters Regional Park. Shoutout to ultimate summer hiking buddy, Joey, who killed the hike even with the flu. :)
Crown Mountain - The Mountaineers
Through the inclines, declines, rests and scrambles. The Chipmunks take you on an incredible journey, climbing Grouse, Dam, Little Goat, and Crown Mountain. This hike gives ourselves the right to be called The Mountaineers. With enough said, I hope you enjoy.

Winter Summit of Crown Mountain in Vancouver 2017
We failed to take the Crown (Mountain) two weekends ago after making a few wrong turns, losing daylight, unsafe snow conditions and not having vital equipment. I could feel the frustration inside of us all as we turned back around and packed it in for the day. But along with the disappointment came a determination to return this past weekend and charge the summit! Click on the HD to see that fire in our eyes!

Crown Mountain Hike by Lynn Valley
