CubanoSon performs El Carretero (a song made famous by the Buena Vista Social Club) with a spectacular tres solo by Junior Rivera, and introducing the newest (and youngest) member of the orchestra, David Figueredo on clave.
Even Governor Christie attended Union City's National Night Out Against Crime & Summer Festival this past Tuesday evening.
The governor landed by helicopter on Washington Park's (El Parque de La Uno) baseball field just before the start of CubanoSon's performance. This yearly event has become a summer tradition in Union City and is enjoyed by both young and old alike, not only by residents of the immediate community but also from the surrounding towns. Some of the other festivities included: free rides for kids, free hot dogs and cotton candy, and live performances in addition to CubanoSon, by Rosario & Her Stars, The Union Hill Band, Rumba Havana Capitan, La Nueva Bohemia, TR Blaze, and Luciano Xactamente. CubanoSon gave a stellar performance to one of the largest audiences in the history of this event.
