Cummins Falls State Park TN - EPIC TRAILS #tennessee #hike
#hike #Tennessee #TriStarAdventure #GoPro #nosmallcreator
We decided to take an adventure day and hike towards Cummins Falls State Park, which is 2 hours and 10 minutes from Clarksville (where I live at). The beginning of the trail was amazing. As soon as you arrive to the river part it gets exciting. We hiked thru the rocks and it was hell.
When we got to the falls O.M.G. it's beautiful..... breathtaking. The wife being 11 weeks pregnant and my 5 year old did the hike back and forth (I kind of mentioned it a LOT). The hike back was super easy, we crossed thru the river and it saved us a bunch of time.
An amazing journey and an epic adventure,
Would like to thank Tennessee State Parks for keeping up with these beautiful places. Shirts that we wore are from TriStar Adventure. Filmed completely on GoPro Hero7 Black. The shots taken were with Canon 7D and Canon 60D.

Our Hike to Cummins Falls
Our hike to Cummins Falls, which is the 8th largest waterfall in Tennessee.
History:
Cummins Falls’ rich history includes a time when Indians used the area to track the numerous buffalo that wallowed in the river’s shallow areas. In the 1790s, Sergeant Blackburn, a veteran of the Revolutionary War and for whom the Blackburn Fork State Scenic River was named, was awarded the land in lieu of a pension. The land was acquired by John Cummins in 1825, and he used the land to build the first of two mills. Because of his growing clientele, a larger second mill was built in 1845. Local residents would visit the mills and the falls for both commerce and recreation.
The mill was washed away during the great flood of 1928, but cars and paved highways had already begun to make the trek to Cummins Falls more accessible. The land was not rebuilt but stayed with the Cummins family for more than 180 years until efforts by the Tennessee Parks and Greenways Foundation to purchase the land through private and public donations for resale to the state of Tennessee. The park bears the Cummins name, though it is commonly misspelled “Cummings”.

Cummins Falls State Park (TNReport.com)
In May 2012 the State of Tennessee opened a 211-acre state park surrounding the Volunteers State's 8th highest waterfall, located just west of Cookeville on the Blackburn Fork State Scenic River. Cummins Falls is formed on the Eastern Highland Rim and has been a favorite scenic spot and swimming hole for residents of Jackson and Putnam counties for more than 100 years, according to a state press release, which added that Cummins Falls has been listed as one of the ten best swimming holes in the United States by Travel and Leisure magazine.
Cummins Falls State Park Tennessee - winter walk
Cummins Falls State Park Tennessee - winter hike
We had heard about this popular swimming hole in TN by other RVers. So when we noticed it wasn’t far off Rt 40 we decided to jump off the highway and check it out. We had noticed so many warnings on the website that some family members where hesitant if it was gonna be a worth while stop. As we approached the state park and noticed a large amount if warning signs it had most of us worried. But we figured if we came upon an iffy spot we’d turn back. Well it turns out .5 miles in the trail to the base of the waterfalls was closed so we didn’t get far anyways.
Regardless it was a nice walk and we did see a pretty waterfall. For future I think this spot would be a lot more fun if we could of gotten closer to the water. And in that case it definitely would require water shoes and probably bathing suits and towels. We hear its a top 10 swimming hole.

A Day Trip to Cummins Falls State Park
Sights and sounds of a quick day trip to Cummins Falls State Park in Tennessee. It's about a 3 hour drive from Louisville, Kentucky and well worth it. It's rare to see a waterfall this size and this varied. It's even rarer to get the chance to swim and climb all over it.

We want to First and Far Most say THANK YOU to all our subscribers ... When we started posting these videos of our life, we wanted to let our children know what was going on with us during our every day life as we prepared to move into our next stage of life. Something happened that we weren't expecting but we became members of a little community among RV’ers that we now consider family too!
As of January 2015, we had started walking down a path of changes to meet a five-year goal of traveling the United States viewing and enjoying the beauty of the canvas that our Heavenly Father has painted for us to live in.
In May 2015 we bought a 28 foot Class C motor home that we called Maycee. We took a month and revamped her whole inside with updates and comforts to be able to live in her. We put the house up for sale although on September 16th, that same year we had an accident and Maycee was totaled, so we had a hiccup in our plans and learned that the saying of building your plans on jello was more than just a statement for Rver's.
So we grabbed up our thoughts and embarked on finding a replacement in addition to working on clearing some acreage we purchased for a home base. In June 2018 we bought a 35 foot Class A motor home called GUS from the estate of a fellow You Tuber, and on the way bringing him home to North Carolina from Arizona, a driver cut Cyndi off and again our new home was totaled. That put us back on the journey of finding another RV if we were going to far fill our dream of RVing this beautiful land.
In November 2018 we found another 35 foot Class A motor home that we named Kobe, and our life living in our RV begins.

Tennessee state park officials identify 2-year-old who died after heavy flooding at Cummins Falls
A 2-year-old boy who was swept away during heavy flooding at Cummins Falls State Park on Sunday has been identified by Tennessee State Park officials.
Steven Pierce of Kentucky was pronounced dead at the scene around 7:15 a.m. Monday, park officials said.
His family was leaving a gorge that is several hundred yards away from the base of Cummins Falls and were trying to cross the water when they were swept away, an assistant chief ranger said during a news conference. The boy was being carried at the time and was not wearing a life jacket.
Chasing Waterfalls in Tennessee
On a beautiful spring day in Tennessee, while on a trip to Nashville, my wife and I took a road trip to Burgess Falls State Park to celebrate her birthday by hiking to one of the best waterfalls in Tennessee. But we wanted to challenge ourselves to get to Burgess Falls with nothing but a road map.
Ironically, one of the biggest challenges was actually finding a road map.
