Exploring the Custard Factory (HD)
The Custard Factory is an independent shopping destination and creative and digital business workspace location in Digbeth Birmingham, England
Located on the site of what was the Bird's Custard factory in the industrial district of Digbeth, it is now home to a thriving working community of creative & digital businesses, independent shops and cafes and bars. They include hundreds of small and medium-sized businesses and some larger ones like Asos. The project was set up by Bennie Gray in 1992 and substantially expanded by his son Lucan Gray, who owns and runs the project.

Birmingham Back to Backs AND Custard Factory | Awesome Wave
Day out in Birmingham. We visited the National Trust's Back to Backs followed by a wander around the Custard Factory.
{click for more info}
The Back to Backs are the last remaining back to back houses in Birmingham built during the Industrial Revolution when Birmingham was a fast expanding city. The house were quite literally cut into two, one family lived at the front and one at the back. And all centered around a communal courtyard where the lavatories and laundry where located.
The guided tour moves through 4 different houses each recreating a different decade from the 1840s through the 1970s. We learn what it was like to live there at different points over time.

July 12, 2003
Feeling: Fluffy!
AUD #1
To clarify all sources of this show:
AUD #1
AUD #2 / MIX (?) - Seems to be a mix of different sources; cuts between song transitions, some repeated audio in places like the intro to “Radio Weston,” sometimes the audience noise will transition to what sounds like a completely different source! “ANS” cuts in.
SBD - High generation and/or extremely compressed.
AMT - Michael Wild von Hohenborn; Youtube; Segments of “ANS” and “The First Five Minutes of Death” only; the former has audio cuts between every second.
Intro 0:20
1. Drip Drop 0:45
2. Blue Rats 13:16
3. Triple Sons and the One You Bury (Instrumental) 26:31
4. Radio Weston 36:29
5. The First Five Minutes After Death 47:49
Peter “Sleazy” Christopherson.
Thighpaulsandra.
Tom Edwards* – marimba.
Instrumental phase; John apparently bailed due to sickness from increasing addiction to alcohol and other drugs.
Final performances of all songs except “Radio Weston,” which would be played five more times under the name “Wraiths and Strays”
Merchandise sold at this gig: ANS (Single-CD Edition) (2003), Live Boxes (2003) for those who had previously ordered them.
Before the gig, Thighpaulsandra says, “Good evening. Thank you for coming. We are Coil. We’re a long way from the sea, but we’re surrounded by water. Thank you.”
After “The First Five Minutes After Death,” Thighpaulsandra says, “Thank you very much. We’ve been Coil.”

AMT #1 + SBD #1a + SBD #1b + SBD #1c Matrix Mix
This was much harder to make than it should have been, and it really comes down to the fact that we have no good transfer of the desk recording. All three versions have problems, whether they be poor sound quality, incompleteness, or both. SBD #1a is incomplete but I wanted to use as little of it as I could, even in between songs, despite the fact every other source has cuts between songs, because of its poor quality. SBD #1c is the best quality source but seems to be spliced from a mix of different transfers, meaning the sound quality is inconsistent and the audio is incomplete. There are also burn errors plaguing much of the sound.
So, I mostly used SBD #1b synced to AMT #1. SBD #1c was used during the last few minutes of Blue Rats and all of Triple Sons, SBD #1a was used for the intro to The First Five Minutes After Death, the other between song cuts were the AMT #1 audio.
Regarding the video, one, where there were quick 1-2 second bits of footage, I stuck them at the beginning of the larger cuts of footage rather than properly synced them to the audio, and two, I put the proper backing video projections between AMT #1 segments, even when the projectors hadn't started yet. I know that's all inconsistent, but I didn't want to remove any video footage, I didn't want extremely brief cuts of video footage to backing projection to the point of jarring the viewer, and I didn't want to leave blank space between the video segments. The video projections during First Five Minutes were synced to the LEFT projector, not the right.
If ANYONE has a better transfer of the SBD, PLEASE hit me up! I would gladly do this matrix mix again for it.
To clarify all sources of this show:
SBD #1a - Complete
SBD #1b - High generation and/or extremely compressed.
SBD #1c - Seems to be a mix of different sources; cuts between song transitions, some repeated audio in places like the intro to “Radio Weston,” sometimes the audience noise will transition to what sounds like a completely different source! “Drip Drop” cuts in.
AMT #1 - A frame repeats between the first and second video files. Triple Sons cuts in and The First Five Minutes After Death cuts in, has an internal cut, and cuts out.
AMT #2 - During Drip Drop on AMT #1, at one point, you see the silhouette of a tripod against the video projection for a few seconds, indicating another possible video source.
