Cycling from Brighton to Worthing, in Sussex, United Kingdom
I shot some video footage with my action-camera on Sunday. This was a bit of a first-time experiment, and I had the camera set up all wrong (wrong frames-per-second and no image stabilisation activated). Nevertheless, I managed to shoot the following video of my bike ride from Brighton to Worthing (didn't film the return bit) which shows the sights, buildings, people, dogs, cafes and lost shoes which I saw along the way. I've not done any special editing on this one, except for adding very basic transitions between individual clips and doubling the speed so that it tells the story a bit more quickly. My next videos will be shot on better camera settings and will feature more complex editing and information. For those of you who don't know the coast down here that much, this is what you're missing :)

The Long Cycle Round Concludes In Brighton
Chris Graham and The Dementia Adventure: The Long Cycle Round concluded his 8-month bike tour around North America in Brighton on Friday, December 11th. Graham was diagnosed with Early Onset Dementia at the age of 39 and decided to take action to raise funds for Alzheimer's Research UK and Awareness for Dementia charities. He started his ride in Brighton in April, 2015 and travelled more than 25,000 km through Canada and the United States.
I lost my Grandfather (46 yrs) Dad (42 yrs), Auntie (41yrs) and her daughter my cousin (41yrs) due to early onset dementia says Graham. My brother Tony is also very much affected now (43yrs). I learnt some time ago that I also have the same dementia gene and would eventually develop the disease.
Graham, a former member of the British Army from Manchester UK, travelled by bike across Canada, starting in Brighton, up to Alaska, down the West Coast to California, across the Southern United States to Florida, up the East Coast to Nova Scotia, and then West to finish in Brighton.
He credits the success of the ride to his girlfriend Victoria Holmes, who is back in the UK with their 10-month old son Dexter. She's the brains of this outfit, I'm just the monkey who rides the bike.
Graham will spend the next 10 days in Brighton before returning to the UK for Christmas. He was also invited by Mayor Mark Walas to speak at the December 21st meeting of Brighton Municipal Council.

Every year since 2006, Brighton has joined World Naked Bike Rides around the world to celebrate cycling and the human body. The ride demonstrates the vulnerability of cyclists on the road and is a protest against car culture.
Brighton's World Naked Bike Ride will take place on Sunday 9 June 2019. This will be our 14th ride. Up to 1,000 riders have taken part in previous peak years (2014 and 2010). As of the 2007 ride, following negotiations with Sussex Police, full nudity is permitted at the event.
The event is one of several UK and worldwide rides happening around the same time, including nearby London, Portsmouth and Southampton. It is scheduled to allow people to take part in other rides as well, if they like.
The ride forms part of the national Bike Week

Just an experiment of speed-up video of a bicycle ride I took in one of my favourite areas of Brighton&Hove, Shoreham-By-Sea. I used the annoying vertical video technique and combined with an enlarged of the same as background to give more depth.
I recently moved to a new flat, so, in the meanwhile I'm working on new music, I used some of the demo material I previously recorded in my older house.

'illegal' bus lane vs illegal 'cycle route' - Brighton cycling infra shambles
More idiotic signage in Brighton. Illegal to use cycle route, legal to use bus lane, until a point where you cant actually leave the bus lane, then illegal to use bus lane.
May as well upload this video now, as I use the bus lane regularly as do most other cyclists, as do the Police, so sooner or later ill probably get someone trying to give me a FPN for 'contravening road sign', although that is highly unlikely as I don't believe the signs are enforced. Quite amusing though cycling behind police cars in the bus lane, technically we both shouldn't be using it!

Buses, taxis and cycles can use the bus corridors in the city.
This scheme was introduced in 2003 to improve the traffic management in the city giving priority to buses, taxis and cycles. Blue Badge holders are not permitted to use the bus corridors, motorcycles can only use the two routes described below.
Bus lanes are open to buses and taxis. Cyclists can also use most of the bus lanes. Some central city bus lanes and corridors do not permit cycling but you will be able to use the road or off road cycle routes at these points. Look for the signs at the entrance to the bus lane.

It is such a danger to cycle on that i had to film it at night with no one around and still kept my speed under 10 MPH and still encountered pedestrians. Also path is barely wide enough for two cyclists, and takes you in zig zags, in the least efficient way possible. Not only that, but you are not 'able to use' the cycle route as the mandatory sign makes it an offence to go anywhere other than straight on (into the bus lane), so it is illegal to turn left and use the 'cycle route'.
