Victoria, British Columbia, Canada - David Foster Harbour Pathway HD (2017)
Victoria Harbour is a harbour, seaport, and seaplane airport located in the Canadian city of Victoria, British Columbia. It serves as a cruise ship and ferry destination for tourists and visitors to the city and Vancouver Island. It is both a port of entry and an airport of entry for general aviation. Historically it was a shipbuilding and commercial fishing centre. While the Inner Harbour is fully within the City of Victoria, separating the city's downtown on its east side from the Victoria West neighbourhood, the Upper Harbour serves as the boundary between the City of Victoria and the district municipality of Esquimalt.[1] The inner reaches are also bordered by the district of Saanich and the town of View Royal. Victoria is a federal public harbour as defined by Transport Canada. Several port facilities in the harbour are overseen and developed by the Greater Victoria Harbour Authority, however the harbour master's position is with Transport Canada.

Victoria, capital of British Columbia, sits on the craggy southern end of Vancouver Island. With abundant parkland, it’s known for outdoor activities. The city's British colonial past shows in its Victorian architecture, including stately Craigdarroch Castle mansion. Butchart Gardens, with 55 acres of vivid floral displays, plus statuary, water features and a carousel, is one of many formal gardens in the city.

Short Version: Integrating energy pathways in British Columbia and beyond - Iman Moazzen
The future of the Canadian energy system depends on how it develops and adapts to the challenges of global growth, carbon policies, and the demand for efficient, environmentally-sustainable power. One of the main challenges lies in optimizing the integration of Canada’s diverse energy economy in order to meet our energy needs. The PICS 2060 project will play a key role by examining potential impacts of integration of large-scale energy systems in Canada under various scenarios. This talk will cover some of the current research activities in the 2060 Project including wave energy integration on Vancouver Island, impacts of intertie capacity expansion between British Columbia and Alberta on the future electrical grid with high wind energy penetration, and incorporating risk into planning at various levels.
Bio
Iman Moazzen received a B.Sc. degree in biomedical engineering from the Science and Research University, Iran, in 2006, a M.Sc. degree in telecommunication engineering from the Isfahan University of Technology, Iran, in 2009, and a Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from the University of Victoria, Canada, in 2013. He is currently working as a postdoctoral fellow for the 2060 Project in the Institute for Integrated Energy Systems at the University of Victoria. This week I thought we would take you through the harbours of Victoria B.C. We began with a walk on the David Foster Harbour Pathway. It was a beautiful evening for a walk. Everything's in bloom in Victoria right now. Lots of water taxis delivering tourists.
We were tourists in our own town as we walked into the Inner Harbour. It was a beautiful evening with lots of people out walking. I stopped out in front of the parliament buildings.
We made it to the inner harbour and were rewarded with a beautiful skyline. When you walk with Tim you stop every 30 seconds to take a photo. Pour was closed but every gelato place was open if you wanted to freeze yourself to the bone with ice cream.
We went to Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory and had our free samples and then continued on to find a hot drink. We got a warm drink and took our walk home.
Saturday morning it was time for treats at Crust Bakery. We got blueberry danish, chocolate croissant and a berry tart and a brownie for Mike. Saturday morning was also videographers meetup. Saturday afternoon we went to help our friend Mike turn his boat around and meet his new puppy Poncho.
Thanks for watching see you next week :)
Thanks to FredJI
Roadtrip to Victoria - Canada day 2015
We left Vancouver and took the Ferry over to Victoria on Vancouver Island to spend Canada Day with family. There were a lot of festivities, Victoria is a great city to walk around on a sunny day. We spent time around the Inner Harbour and headed over to China town, where Fantan Alley is located. Fantan is a narrow alley with small shops. The day was finished off with a huge Fireworks show.
