Deddington Castle is an extensive earthwork in the village of Deddington, Oxfordshire, all that remains of an eleventh century motte-and-bailey castle, with only the earth ramparts and mound now visible.

The site of Deddington Castle lies to the east of the town and comprises some 8 acres. At the present time it is a grassed-in enclosure surrounded by banks and trees on three sides, and is used as a recreational area for walking dogs and so on.

Broughton Castle is a medieval fortified manor house in the village of Broughton. The core of the house was built in 1306 and the gatehouse in the early fifteenth century, but most of what we see today dates from the 1550’s. Parts of the films Shakespeare in Love (1998), and Jane Eyre (2011) were shot in the castle.
Deddington Farmers' Market
The centuries-old tradition of a Saturday market in Deddington, which ceased in 1830, has been revived - and it's been thriving since the new millennium. It was the winner in the South East region in Country Life's Britain's Favourite Farmers' Market 2006 competition. It was also joint runner-up for the 2005 and 2006 National Farmers' Market of the Year Award.
