My Thoughts on Improving Sheffield’s Gay Scene 1
Fundamentally this area isn't a 'destination'. It's simply a through route to access The Moor shops.
Should straight men be banned from gay bars?
Amid reports of 'gay only' bars in Manchester, Those Nine Hours visit Dempsey's bar and club, to find out how close it is to being a reality, and what it would mean for business in Sheffield.

Fulham vs Sheffield United 0-1, late winner at Craven Cottage causes upset - FAC4 Replay
Sheffield United may be threatened with relegation to League Two, but they pulled off a famous victory at Craven Cottage on Tuesday night, with a goal in the final throes of extra-time.
On a night as long as John Brayford's beard and as cold and wet as a swim in the nearby Thames, 97th-minute substitute Shaun Miller stole in for a header at the far post after a knock-down from Harry Maguire.
The late drama gives the Blades a home tie against either Preston North End or Nottingham Forest - who replay on Wednesday night.
With his side labouring at the bottom of the Premier League and seemingly bereft of confidence, Meulensteen would have dearly loved to call upon Kostas Mitroglou, Lewis Holtby, John Heitinga and William Kvist, but the deadline day signings came too late for the 1-1 draw at Bramall Lane, and as a consequence were inelgible here.
And with a further four players leaving Craven Cottage last week, Meulensteen had little option but to call in a number of his squad players.
Sheffield United manager Nigel Clough had problems of his own, after watching his side lose to Crewe Alexandra, and further increase fears of relegation from League One.
And yet while it is often true that The FA Cup can be a welcome distraction from the drudgery of a league campaign, there was little to celebrate and precious little to comment upon in a dreadful, goalless opening 90 minutes.
Over half an hour passed before the first chance - if indeed it can be called that - when Hugo Rodallega set the ball for Clint Dempsey on the edge of the area, but the American sent his shot on a trajectory that would have made NASA proud.
Shortly after the break Blades left-back Bob Harris - who last month swapped the bright lights of Blackpool for the steel city - sent a free-kick fizzing over the bar, and then tested David Stockdale in the Fulham goal.
Meulensteen made a double-change on the hour - removing Rodallega and Alex Kacaniklic in favour of Damien Duff and Ashkan Dejagah, and the pair managed to add industry on the flanks.
Duff tested Mark Howard with a fizzing deep cross from the right, sending the United keeper scrambling to parry on an increasingly greasy surface.
But that was as enterprising as it got from either side, and the two teams were inseparable as the tie entered its fourth hour, and extra-time.
Then, as the wind picked up and the rain came in like cloak off the River Thames, Brayford showed a rare turn of pace and surged forwards from right-back.
Brayford, on loan from Cardiff City, drove past three Fulham players before firing a powerful drive across Stockdale, and the keeper saved well.
With five minutes of extra-time Patijm Kasami came close to lifting the tedium, driving with his left foot from the edge of the area, but it swerved beyond the angle of the goal.
Kasami then sent another shot to the right-hand side of Howard's goal, but it was Miller and the Blades who had the final say.
Carrie @ Dempseys :)

So... we played at The Dove and Rainbow in Sheffield for Tramlines Sunday. Got a bit of footage before we set off, on the way, at the venue, NONE of the gig (as usual...), after the gig and the train ride home. A lot of chit chat and nonsense, but may be of interest to some... :)

Who is Man United coach Mark Dempsey?
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been reunited with coach Mark Dempsey in his efforts to transform Manchester United's fortunes.Dempsey, who played for United during the 1980s, worked alongside Solskjaer during his first spell in charge of Norwegian club Molde and was also part of his backroom team at Cardiff City. After his own crack at management in Norway and Sweden, Dempsey, 54, is now back at the club where he started his career. He was pictured in conference with interim manager Solskjaer and coach Mike Phelan on the training ground as United prepare for Sunday's home Premier League fixture against Bournemouth. Dempsey, a midfielder, came through the academy ranks at Old Trafford in the early 1980s, signing his first professional contract with united in January 1982.However, first-team opportunities proved few and far between for the local lad, who played against Spartak Varna in the European Cup Winners' Cup in November 1983 and against Ipswich Town in the First Division in December 1985.He left United after six years in 1986, joining Sheffield United before going on to play for Rotherham United and Macclesfield Town.Dempsey entered coaching and worked alongside Solskjaer in United's academy when the Norwegian was reserve team coach between 2008 and 2010.When Solskjaer was appointed manager of Norwegian club Molde in November 2010, he took Dempsey with him and there they won two league titles.Dempsey also worked with the former striker during his ill-fated spell with Premier League Cardiff City in 2014.It's clear the pair have good chemistry, with Solskjaer saying of Dempsey: 'If I'm half-way through a sentence he will very often finish it for me and vice-versa.'We know exactly where each other are coming from.'After that he branched out on his own into management, with spells at Norwegians Haugesund, Swedish top-flight side Djurgarden, a second stint as assistant at Molde, a short spell at Start and a post at second tier club Kongsvinger. In November, Dempsey left Kongsvinger for health reasons after being laid low by a virus and returned to England with his family. He had been contracted until 2020. Man United fixtures Premier League unless stated December 30 Bournemouth (H)January 2 Newcastle United (A)January 5 Reading (H)FA Cup third roundJanuary 13 Tottenham (A) January 19 Brighton (H) January 29 Burnley (H) The local newspaper Glamdalen wrote that Dempsey was left completely or partly bedridden following a loss to Aalesund in September.'There have been some very tough days. After many medical checks, it turned out that I have some virus and that virus has made me struggle and I have been very dizzy at times,' he told the newspaper. Now Dempsey is part of the team trying to resurrect United's season following a disastrous opening to the campaign under sacked boss Jose Mourinho.United are eight points off the top four despite Solskjaer winning his first two matches in charge - 5-1 at Cardiff City and 3-1 at home to Huddersfield Town.
