Discovering Mexican Lucha Libre in Puerto Vallarta
Trusting a taxi driver with our next adventure, we venture into the world of Mexican wrestling at Arena Coliseo Villalvazo in Pitillal, Puerto Vallarta. After a quick rundown of Mexican Lucha Libre rules, we become luchador wrestlers ourselves and take on the best local Lucha Libre fighters! Did the basecamp team win? You'll have to watch to know!

→ Who are we?
Hey there! We are Greg and Hillary – a husband and wife team that loves traveling, going on adventures, and helping others do the same! Although we love traveling, at this point in time, we still have full time 9-5 jobs in Dallas, Texas.
In August of 2016, we packed up our things, Greg quit his job, and we moved to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico!
Hillary is working remotely for her CPA firm and Greg is working on this site full time.
We view ourselves as fairly ordinary people, complete with an ordinary income, ordinary jobs, and (unfortunately) an ordinary amount of student loan debt (thanks UNT!).
I know what you are thinking, “Aren’t travel blogs supposed to be written by hippies that don’t have jobs and live in hostels?!” Well don’t you worry, we are working on making that happen! Although we hope to become full time travelers in the next 1-2 years, this site is not necessarily aimed at people that want to travel full time.
Our hope is not that you quit your job and become a long haired, bearded, Volkswagen van driving hippy. Instead, our hope is that after reading our stories you are more inspired to live a more fulfilling life from 5pm-9am!
Why such the emphasis on how ordinary we are? Although we love reading travel blogs, it is easy to feel disconnected from the writers at times. It seems as though they are leading such extraordinary lives that they are somehow doing something that is unreachable to the “average” person.
We are here to prove that wrong. We are here to tell you that even if you work a full-time job and only get two weeks of vacation each year-you still have the power to design an adventurous life for yourself. Afterall, that is exactly where we started before leaving it all behind to live la vida loca!
After having several caffeine induced conversations about how people should travel more and shift their priorities in a way that will lead to a more fulfilling life, we decided to share our stories with you.
Our purpose in creating Kinetic Kennons is to share our stories of travels, adventures, and funny mishaps and to inspire others to design a life full of exploration. Throughout this site you will find posts about how to go on a cheap weekend trip, funny stories such as the time Hillary forgot to update her passport before an international trip, and inspirational rants on why you should lead a more adventurous life!

Get to know Marina Vallarta in Puerto Vallarta Mexico
Marina Vallarta is like a resort within a resort with an exclusive Marina filled with yachts, boats, and charters, a championship 18-hole golf course designed by Joe Finger. Located just 15 minutes from downtown Puerto Vallarta and a few minutes away from the Puerto Vallarta International Airport, Lic. Gustavo Diaz Ordaz.
More information, maps, photos and more:
The Marina area is more exclusive and a bit more expensive than other areas in Puerto Vallarta. It was built during the golden years of the city in the 1980's, specifically in 1986, by the Güitrón brothers Jorge and José Martínez Güitrón, they took a leap of faith and planned big.
A sudden growth in tourism inspired the Güitrón Martinez brothers to start an important and visionary residential and business development, the one we now know as the Marina Vallarta, where you would be able to shop by the Marina and enjoy luxury hotels, condos, housing developments, private schools and top-level maritime amenities that could even welcome luxury yachts in what was at the time the largest marina in Mexico with 500 slips.
They also had excellent marketing sense and convinced the famous actress Elizabeth Taylor, that already owned property in the city and lived many years here, to buy one of the first available condos by the Marina, that helped give it all some extra appeal, for sure.
The Marina boardwalk offers lots of good shops, a great range from inexpensive restaurants to fancy elegant dining options, delis, a Starbucks, spas, cafés, bakeries, and ice-cream stores too, even a little supermarket.

Marietas Islands Puerto Vallarta Nuevo Vallarta Mexico hidden Beach las islas marietas
Marietas Islands Puerto Vallarta Nuevo Vallarta Mexico hidden Beach, las Islas marietas, Protected from the intrusion of the world outside, the hidden beach of Marieta Islands las Islas marietas, Puerto Vallarta is a world of its own. Located just a few miles off the coast of Mexico, close to Bandera bay, Marieta Islands are archipelagos that were formed as a result of volcanic activity. The islands have remained almost secluded ever since. It was only recently that the recreational aspect of the place was discovered following the development of an extremely exclusive marine ecosystem that makes this place just as unique as thrilling.
The marine environment of hidden beach Marieta Island, Puerta Vallarta has developed over several years, sans any disturbance from humans or outside nature. As a result, the marine life here is intriguing and holds a huge potential for people who love just this kind of sport. Marieta Islands are one of the best sports for snorkeling and scuba diving owing to the virgin nature of the place, along with its diversity.
The water along the hidden beach Marieta Island, Puerto Vallarta is a crystal clear blue mass of pure bliss. Of the marine wildlife available to view in the place, Humpback whale, sea turtles and dolphins are just a few of the most magnificent examples. Travelers can also enjoy a powerboat trip to the hidden beach, Marieta Island, Puerto Vallarta taking in the scenery along the way. The hidden beach, Marieta Islands, Puerto Vallarta is an intriguing site in its own accord. The beach remains cut off from the rest of the group of islands. And for those who stumble across the place, the surprises held are immense. The beach is considered to possess an abundance of reef fish, with about 103 different species moving around in the clear blue waters of the beach. The whales can also be viewed in their magnificent glory and for some lucky travelers; they may even get to experience the 'whale- music'- unique sound made by these huge creatures just as they dive deeper into the waters. Following winter rains, Puerto Vallarta weather remains pleasant and inviting. The rains also make the water as clear as available on any beach n the world. The accommodation comes easy and in a wide range for all kinds of travelers. While the hidden beach, Marieta Islands, Puerto Vallarta is still hidden mostly in the literal sense, the rest of Puerto, Vallarta is a reasonable commercial place receiving tourists from all over the world in large numbers. The Marieta Islands were originally formed many thousands of years ago by volcanic activity, and are completely uninhabited. The islands are about an hour-long boat ride west-northwest from the coast of Puerto Vallarta and are visited daily by hundreds of tourists, yet no one can legally set foot on the islands. In the early 1900s, the Mexican government began conducting military testing on the islands because no one lived there. Many bombings and large explosions took place on the islands causing amazing caves and rock formations to be created. After a massive international outcry, started by scientist Jacques Cousteau in the late 1960s, the government eventually decided to label the islands a national park and therefore protected against any fishing, hunting or human activity. Dolphin Encounter and Swim Experience | Puerto Vallarta
One of my most favorite experiences during my time in Mexico was my time spent with the dolphins at Vallarta Adventures. Firstly - they’re much more akin to small whales than anything - but they truly are smart, gentle giants! This dolphin swim was paid for as a part of an all inclusive incentive trip I earned with Perfectly Posh.
Want to learn more about Posh, but not ready to dive all the way in just yet - join my VIP group and hang out awhile:
