DOS OJOS CENOTE SCUBA DIVING IN TULUM MEXICO
Dos Ojos Cenote is a magical place for scuba diving just outside of Tulum. It's one of the many Cenotes in the Yucatan Peninsula, and has a reputation for beautiful diving and snorkeling. Mexico is an incredible country and the entire Riviera Maya has so many unique and amazing dive sites. If you're not certified you're missing out. Half of the appeal of this part of the world is Underwater!
Tulum is not too far from Cancun or Playa del Carmen, you can take a collectivo (a local taxi van) for very cheap to travel along the coast. Once you're there, you can see a lot around the town, and there are several cenotes to visit. Taxi's aren't too bad once your there, and there are a lot of dive shops that will take you to the cenotes. I went with Infinity2diving, their info is a little bit lower on the list!
I arrived here with the expectation of getting my Cave Diving certification, it turns out there is a type of diving called Cavern Diving. This means you never leave the guide line, and you always are able to see ambient light. This was enough for me, as on several of these dives we were well underground, with only a faint glow in the distance of sunlight. You have to be an advanced scuba diver to be allowed to participate in this type of dive. I highly recommend you get certified that high!

Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, we got married June 2013 and quickly caught the travel bug! We started “travel hacking” & finally decided we wanted to travel for one year. After 2 years of saving $ and over 2 million miles and points, we sold our cars and apartment and left home January 10, 2016. We started this YouTube channel to share our experiences with friends and family, then decided we really liked vlogging and traveling! So we extended our 1 year trip to now FOUR years :) Now we have a goal of traveling to 100 countries before 2020! We are incredibly thankful to do something we love every day. :)
DIVING THE GRAN CENOTE, Tulum Mexico
Haven't posted in a while so here's a quick video of a day we spent exploring the Cenotes in Tulum Mexico, specifically 'The Gran Cenote'. Tip, for a better experience go early in the morning like we did to avoid the crowds.
This Cenote is the main entrance of Sistema Sac Actun which is currently the 2nd longest underwater cave system in the world with over 176km of mapped and surveyed passages and over 130 interconnecting cenotes within the system. One place you DON'T want to get lost whilst diving.

Cenote Diving, Tulum, Mexico
Cenote diving is unique to the Yucatan peninsula. The most beautiful cenotes are found in Tulum, Quintana Roo. When I was there, I dived Gran Cenote, Dos Ojos, Angelita, Dream Gate, Temple of Doom, and Car Wash. My favorite was Dream Gate for its beautiful crystalline stalactites. This is Gran Cenote.
Diving Casa Cenote in Tulum, Mexico
The last dive of our trip to Mexico was in Casa Cenote. A shallow, easy dive with lots to see.

Diving Cenote Xunaan Ha, Tulum, Mexico - Oct 2018
This small cenote is located in Chemuyil, a village between Playa del Carmen and Tulum, in Mexico.
It is not very well known of the public. Most parts of the cave area is 1 to 10 meters deep.
The water is cristal clear.
The interface between the salt and fresh water, called halocline, is responsible for the blurred vision that can be seen in the video.

Diving Cenote “Carwash” | Tulum, Mexico
Carwash cenote is aptly called that because it was once used by taxi drivers to wash their cars with.
At a certain time of the year, the cenote actually turns blood red. I didn't see this when I was there but you can google pictures.
I went diving with nomaddiving.com and they provided excellent service. There is an additional fee to dive paid to the owners of the cenote.
A truly unique experience after all my previous diving was saltwater and open ocean or sea caves.
I had never done cavern diving before this but I loved it. Located in Tulum, Mexico.
