1. Largest Community Barn Quilt in the U.S. (0:09)
Location: West Rowan Farm, Home and Garden, Mt Ulla, NC
This photo op stop is the gem of the Rowan County barn quilt trail. As the largest community barn quilt in the United States, it has become quite the attention getter in the western part of the county.
2. Crossroads: Past into Present Mural (0:14)
Location: View it from atop Go Burrito’s Rumbar, Downtown Salisbury, NC
One of Salisbury and Rowan County’s most famous attractions. This mural painted by Salisbury native, Cynvia Arthur Rankin, features an original look at turn-of-the-century Downtown Salisbury.
3. On Cloud Nine with the Angel Wings (0:17)
Location: The Holy Grind, China Grove, NC
This angelic coffee shop has several beautiful angel wings painted on the side of their building which were painted by Linda Gibson of McGrady, North Carolina.
4. Walk the Rails (0:21)
Location: Historic Salisbury Station, Downtown Salisbury, NC
*Now, please do not “actually” walk the railroad tracks for safety reasons. But snapping a photo near the railroad tracks is a popular trend for weddings, senior photos, train enthusiasts, or just for fun!

Location: Patterson Farm Market & Tours, Mt Ulla, NC
This is THE agritourism destination in Rowan County, North Carolina! It’s the perfect attraction for a family afternoon outing or simply to just pick up some fresh produce from their market.

Location: NC Transportation Museum, Spencer, NC
Every year, thousands of family’s flock to this attraction for unforgettable experiences. Its 60-acre site is filled with immersive exhibits and special events.

Location: Dr. Joseph Hall House, Downtown Salisbury, NC
Built in 1820 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the Dr. Josephus Hall House was originally constructed as classrooms for the Salisbury Female Academy (1820-1825).

Location: Tiger World, Rockwell, NC
This nonprofit animal conservation and educational center is dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, and preservation of exotic animals. Capture a photo during one of their Carnivore Feeding Safari Tours or simply enjoy a leisurely self-guided tour.

10. Take a Refreshing Dip (0:46)
Location: Riverpark at Cooleemee Falls, Woodleaf, NC
Known locally as “The Bullhole”, this impressive stone water dam features a sandy beach and good fishing in spring and fall. Bring your swimming suit and enjoy an afternoon dip.
11. Sensational Sunsets (0:52)
Location: Dunn’s Mountain Park, Salisbury, NC
If scenic views are your thing, the best spot in Rowan County is by far the view from atop Dunn’s Mountain. From this vantage point you can take in all the splendor of Rowan.
