Old Photographs Dysart Fife Scotland
Tour Scotland video of old photographs of Dysart on the coast of Fife. The first record of the town was made in the early 13th century, its initial role being to settle civil matters between the church and landowners. During the middle of the 15th century, trade with the Low Countries began for salt and coal exportation. In the 16th and 17th centuries, trade expanded to the Baltic Countries. Dysart acquired two nicknames: Salt Burgh and Little Holland as a result. The harbour was later extensively rebuilt in 1829 with the assistance of Robert Stephenson, to include an inner basin with a nearby quarry at the harbour head and an extension of the east pier which would be raised and pointed southwards. The Outlander TV series filmed at the Inner Harbour. Of interest to folks with ancestry, genealogy or Scottish Family Roots in Scotland who may wish to visit one day.

Kincardine-on-Forth - Kingdom Of Fife - Scotland
Kincardine (Gaelic: Cinn Chàrdainn[2]) or Kincardine-on-Forth is a small town located on the north shore of the Firth of Forth, in Fife, Scotland. The town was given the status of a Burgh of barony in 1663. It was at one time a reasonably prosperous minor port. The townscape retains many good examples of Scottish vernacular buildings from the 17th, 18th and early 19th centuries, although it was greatly altered during the construction of Kincardine Bridge in 1932-36.
Kincardine Bridge runs south from Kincardine. It is the main crossing-point of the Firth of Forth between the Forth Road Bridge and Stirling. Kincardine Bridge used to be a swing bridge and opened to large ships, but this was closed in a final ceremony in 1988. The bridge had seven spans made of steel. There was a large control room at the top of the bridge, this used to be manned to allow the operators to open the bridge to large ships and river traffic.
During the last twenty years the town has suffered increasing congestion as the numbers of vehicles using the bridge has increased. In 2005 this was partially eased by the opening of an eastern bypass connecting the bridge with the A985 Inverkeithing/Forth Road Bridge artery. In 2008 the western section of the town was bypassed with the opening of the Upper Forth Crossing which is officially called the Clackmannanshire Bridge.
Kincardine is also the location of the Scottish Police College at Tulliallan Castle on the outskirts of the town
Culross West Fife Scotland
Tour Scotland video of photographs of Culross on visit to West Fife. The major USA TV series Outlander has recently been shooting in Culross, Fife This Scottish originally served served as a port city on the Firth of Forth and is believed to have been founded by Saint Serf during the 6th century. During the 16th and 17th centuries, the town was a centre of the coal mining industry. Sir George Bruce of Carnock, who built the splendid 'Palace' of Culross and whose elaborate family monument stands in the north transept of the Abbey church, established at Culross, the first coal mine in the world to extend under the sea, in 1575. Thomas Cochrane, 10th Earl of Dundonald spent much of his early life in Culross, where his family had an estate. There is now a bust in his honour outside the Culross Town House. He was the first Vice Admiral of Chile. A small selection of my personal photographs shot on small group tours of Scotland.
