LAK LAKE & BUON MA THUOT - Vietnam Motorbike Vlog
LAK LAKE & BUON MA THUOT - Vietnam Motorbike Vlog
On this leg of the TRIPPED Vietnam Motorcycle adventure, Finney finally must come to terms with the fact that she has to learn how to ride her own motorcycle. It would seem the Diemers drastically overestimated how comfortable riding two up on a small 125cc motorbike would be. In her first day of solo-riding, she is thrown from the frying pan and into the fire as she navigates gravel backroads, wet mountain highways, congested cities packed with trucks, as well as dodging the random cow or wedding reception.
The destination on this leg of the journey is Buon Ma Thuot, which, truth be told, the Diemers never learn to pronounce properly (not for lack of trying). Buon Ma Thuot is the center of Vietnam coffee growing operations and homebase for Trung Nguyen Coffee Village. On top of falling in love with the country of Vietnam, Tim specifically declares his undying love for Vietnamese Ca Phe Sua Da or Iced Coffee with Milk. Trung Nguyen Coffee Village is perhaps the best place in all of Vietnam to have a definitive “best” Ca Phe Sua Da.
While in Buon Ma Thuot, the Diemers also hop over to Lak Lake in the Dak Lak Province for a day trip. The main tourist draw here is of course elephant rides across the lake. However, upon encountering a very sad elephant chained up on concrete, the Diemers decide to skip perhaps the saddest elephant ride in Vietnam.

Da Lat to Buôn Ma Thuột by Bike - Travel Vietnam 2018
It's time to leave Da Lat, but before we go we have to give a HUGE thanks to Hà and Duong at Maxim Hotel, as it rained for 90% of our stay in Dalat and we thought it was going to be a rather dull stay, but these guys went out of their to make sure we had an awesome time.
If you are thinking of heading to Da Lat, be sure to check out Maxim Hotel and the bonus is, English is no problem, so if you have any questions, you can hit them up via Facebook -
Our destination target for today while we continue our journey through Vietnam's central highlands, is Buon Ma Thuot, which is about a 210km ride from Da Lat, so half the distance of our last ride, but still through some windy mountain roads, so it wont be a quick trip.
Our plan had been to hit the road at 8am and we were all ready to roll, but the rain just wasn't backing off. Around 9am it let up and so we made a break for it...although we don't expect we'll make to Buôn Ma Thuột dry.
We'd love it if you liked and shared this video, so others who haven't yet heard of us, also get a chance to share in the experience. Thanks :)

We are Leon and Tash, a New Zealand vlogging couple who set off on an amazing Vietnam adventure as fulltime travellers, backpacking Vietnam. But we weren't going to travel to Vietnam for one of those ordinary backpacking Vietnam trips you hear about everybody doing, where they go for a couple off weeks and check out the beaches or maybe riding through Vietnam at such a crazy pace that they never get off the beaten track. No we want more than that.
Our Vietnam adventures start with learning the way of the locals, taking just enough time to figure out how things work, discover what the Must see places in Vietnam are and more importantly where Vietnam's hidden gems are...
To do this, we moved to Danang Vietnam. The plan was to spend 3 months living in Da Nang, meeting and learning from locals about the culture, the amazing food, their way of living and what places they would recommend to travel in Vietnam.
And because Danang is in the middle of the country, we hoped we might meet other tourists or expats who were having their own Vietnam travel adventure or were at the halfway point of motorcycle riding through Vietnam and hear from them, what places they thought we must visit in Vietnam. Also, as new travel vloggers, having a base there meant we could try things like doing Da Nang Vietnam travel vlog or creating a Danang Vietnam travel guide, before also taking on the stresses of fulltime travel.
Then in month 4, that's when the real Vietnam adventure begins. With our new list of must see places, we will head to Saigon and buy a couple of motorbikes. to start our Vietnam road trip!
Motorcycle riding through Vietnam seems like one of the most hectic, crazy and chaotic things anyone could do, but we can't wait!! And we wont be following a simple South to North / Saigon to Hanoi route, we plan on doing more like a figure 8, so that our travel in Vietnam will cover both the inland and coastal areas of this amazing country.
So can we still say we are backpacking Vietnam? Or should we be telling people our travel in Vietnam is a motorcycle trip through Vietnam? We're not sure, but what we do know is, our Vietnam road trip is going to cover over 6000km's from Saigon right up to the famous waterfalls of Ban Gioc near Cao Bang, round the northern point of the Ha Giang loop and everything else we can access in between.
So we hope you'll join us, the New Zealand vlogging couple, on our Vietnam adventure by clicking subscribe to join the Tribe and experience our travel in Vietnam..

Hue Easyriders Day 5 :: Buon Me Thuot Mountain Pass to Nha Trang :: HD 1080p
Today's ride through the mountain passes was beautiful. Green scenery with a blue sky as a backdrop--couldn't ask for anything better. Passing through rice fields, valleys, and beaches really captures the hidden gems of Vietnam.
We cut short our trip from 6 days down to 5 to fully explore and enjoy Nha Trang. We're looking to do some kiteboarding, scuba diving, and sip on some pina colada's while laying under a coconut tree on the white sandy beaches of Nha Trang!
Buon Ma Thuot Travel to Pleiku - Vietnam Travel Vlog
With out time in Buon Ma Thuot done, we are back on the bikes to continue our Vietnam travels and hitting the road to Pleiku.
It is roughly a 180km ride and we are hoping we'll have fine weather the whole way, but we certainly wouldn't put any money on it, haha.
We'd love it if you liked and shared this video, so others who haven't yet heard of us, also get a chance to share in the experience. Thanks :)

Road trip on Honda Win Motorcycle from Buon Ma Thuot to Pleiku, Vietnam 2
I left Buon Ma Thuot for Pleiku which was 112 miles (180km) away. I followed road 688 and biked up route 14 which lead straight into the town of Pleiku. The wind was strong but the sky was blue and it was a good ride on smooth roads. Plus the scenery was spectacular along the way. Buon Ma Thuot, Should You Visit? - Vietnam Travel 2018
Our last night in Buon Ma Thuot before we continue to travel Vietnam, we went for one last hot chocolate at Bro Coffee and got talking to each other about how Buon Ma Thuot had compared to what we had expected before arriving.
We quickly realised just how different our experience here had been compared to others that we had watched on Youtube and whose blogs we had read before coming here, so we decided to turn on the camera and share with you guys our thoughts on whether or not Buon Ma Thuot is a place you should consider visiting.
We'd love it if you liked and shared this video, so others who haven't yet heard of us, also get a chance to share in the experience. Thanks :)

Vietnam Motorbike Trip | Adventure between Da Lat & Buon Ma Thuot
⇝ 1 month in Vietnam - Our first destination on the motorbike was supposed to be Da Lat. However, we had to leave our Misk behind in Saigon and found our new motorcycle (Sukiita) in Da Lat!
On the way to Buon Ma Thuot, we ended up choosing the 'scenic route' and got lost for a few hours, until we got rescued by some lovely locals and had the best experience ever.

Our motorbike trip in Vietnam started in Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon) and finished in Laos instead of Hanoi. Since we decided to keep going on our motorbike adventure.
Our 4 weeks route:
HCMC to Da Lat was by sleeper bus since our motorbike broke down just before leaving Saigon.
We found another motorcycle (Sukiita) in Da Lat and then went to the following cities:
Buon Ma Thuot - Pleiku - Hoi An - Da Nang train to Ninh Binh - Hai Phong - Cat Ba - Halong - Hanoi - Mai Chau - Pu Luong - Na Meo/ Laos Border
