South Africa - Capetown Township Langa
Projects are in progress to improve the lives of inhabitants of South African townships, but many people are still living in very basic conditions and desperately wait for housing improvement.
We visited Langa, a township of Cape Town. We saw the houses that were built for harbor laborers where three families now live in one small room, sheds, a shabeen with self-brewed beer, but also a school, new built and refurbished housing, the small museum and the community center that runs projects to help young artisans to develop their skills.
Cape Town was visited at the end of our overland trip from the Netherlands to South Africa.

South African Garden Route Vacation Travel Video Guide
Travel video about destination South African Garden Route in South Africa.
The historic city of Port Elisabeth is the beginning of a magnificent journey along the South African Garden Route. After travelling through vast agricultural areas and blossoming meadows the Tsitsikamma Lodge, that is located in the Tsitsikamma National Park, is a paradise of blossoming flowers and plants, a huge botanical garden of amazing sights and perfumes that tease the senses. A small steam train, the Quteniqua Choo Tjoe, travels from George to Knysna, a fine city and a popular bathing resort, well known for its tasty beer, fresh oysters and stylish hardwood furniture, and then it journeys on through the Featherbed Nature Reserve. Covering 2,600 hectares, the coastal Wilderness National Park consists of pure, unadulterated Nature, where waves rush toward the shore and bleached debris lies on the shoreline. Mossel Bay has long sandy beaches that are ideal for sun bathing and swimming, a veritable oasis of tranquillity far from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. It also boasts an old Milkwood Tree that has been used as a message centre since the year 1500 and since then has been known as the first post office in South Africa. The Garden Route, with all the fascinating stops along the way, is without a doubt one of South Africa’s most spectacular attractions.

Township Tour Langa - South Africa
Very interesting hearing and seeing what goes on in a South African Township in Langa, Cape Town.
LANGA - A Township Tour in Cape Town
Day 6// We visited Langa on a township tour with an awesome company called Local Knowledge Tours, check them out here:
localknowledgetours.com
This was all filmed on my B camera, my Sony RX100VI as I didn't want to be putting larger cameras in peoples faces. We played some African drums & met some of the locals. Part of the money for the tour went towards helping some of the initiatives we saw on the day.

Pelagic Birding - Cape Town, South Africa
Birding Ecotours offer a variety of pelagic birding trips around the world, but our pelagic trips off the west coast of South Africa (leaving from harbours around Cape Town) are by far the most popular and often most productive. As with all birding it's all about being in the right place at the right time and our aim on these pelagics are to find fishing trawlers that attract often thousands of pelagic birds, often allowing us to find over 15 pelagic species. It's quite a spectacle when we do manage to find a fishing trawler and we usually end up having a good couple of hours of fun.
On this particular day we spent time between 2x fishing trawlers! It truly was a spectacular day.
Have a look at our website for more info on these pelagic birding trips:

Water bikes popular among Cape eco-tourists | Money Talks
In much of the world, tourism is big business. But the growth of the industry can put ecosystems under pressure. And the accompanying infrastructure can threaten wildlife. In the South African city of Cape Town, a surge in eco-tourism is starting to reverse that trend, as Mark Roughton reports.
