Dublin, Ireland, walking tour
Ireland is best known as a land of quaint villages, friendly people and wild natural beauty but there is another side to this emerald isle -- the urban charms of Dublin.

This convivial capital is truly a fascinating place with warm, sociable people, lovely architecture, excellent museums, great pubs, varied restaurants, endless entertainment and the most popular attraction, Guinness, in the pubs and at their storehouse display.
We'll start out with three main areas south of the river Liffey: Trinity College, St. Stephen's Green and Temple bar. And then up to pedestrian shopping street, and of course out to the Guinness Storehouse.
Trinity College is one of the world’s great schools and a leading attraction, with more than half a million visitors each year. People come to see the graceful campus with its wonderful collection of historic buildings and gardens arranged in a harmonious setting spanning 35 acres.
We'll see Temple Bar, Dublin's most popular gathering spot. Temple Bar is the nightlife center of town, a great place for a stroll, perhaps have a pint and catch some traditional music.
Beer-lovers must visit the Guinness Storehouse where you can learn all about the brewing of that wonderful dark stout and enjoy some fresh samples. It is the country's most popular tourist attraction with 1.5 million annual visitors. The actual brewery is one block over, and is off-limits to visitors, but this impressive showcase presents very entertaining, high-tech multimedia displays that tell the whole story in a fun way.

DUBLIN, EXPLORING the beautiful and HISTORIC GRAND CANAL (IRELAND) ????️
SUBSCRIBE!! - Let's visit the beautiful Grand Canal (Irish: An Chanáil Mhór) which is the southernmost of a pair of canals that connect Dublin, in the east of Ireland, with the River Shannon in the west, via Tullamore and a number of other villages and towns, the two canals nearly encircling Dublin's inner city. Its sister canal on the Northside of Dublin is the Royal Canal. The last working cargo barge passed through the Grand Canal in 1960.
Dublin, capital of the Republic of Ireland, is on Ireland’s east coast at the mouth of the River Liffey. Its historic buildings include Dublin Castle, dating to the 13th century, and imposing St Patrick’s Cathedral, founded in 1191. City parks include landscaped St Stephen’s Green and huge Phoenix Park, containing Dublin Zoo. The National Museum of Ireland explores Irish heritage and culture.

Lyrics:
We said we'd walk together baby come what may
That come the twilight should we lose our way
If as we're walking a hand should slip free
I'll wait for you
And should I fall behind
Wait for me
We swore we'd travel darlin' side by side
We'd help each other stay in stride
But each lover's steps fall so differently
But I'll wait for you
And if I should fall behind
Wait for me
Now everyone dreams of love lasting and true
Oh, but you and I know what this world can do
So let's make our steps clear that the other may see
I'll wait for you
And if I should fall behind
Wait for me
Now there's a beautiful river in the valley ahead
There 'neath the oak's bough soon we will be wed
Should we lose each other in the shadow of the evening trees
I'll wait for you
Should I fall behind
Wait for me
Darlin' I'll wait for you
Should I fall behind
Wait for me
Yeah, I'll wait for you
Should I fall behind
Wait for me
I'll wait for you
Should I fall behind
Wait for me

Ireland Nightlife-Pubs, Pubs, and More Pubs! (11 Live Performances in 5 Irish Cities)
I guess you can call this the epic pub crawl-we visited several Irish pubs in five Irish cities-Dublin, Kilkenny, Killarney, Cork, and Galway. I filmed 11 live performances overall. While some pub performers play famous cover songs, many of them play traditional Irish music, which is my favorite. I hope you had fun watching and cheers, or as they say in Ireland-Sláinte!

A Grand Canal Way Walk, Dublin, 24/9/15.
An interesting walk of around 6.8 miles in the suburbs of Dublin, Eire. For back-ground purposes, this walker quotes from the 'VisitIreland' website:
'The Grand Canal closed to commercial traffic in 1951, but in recent decades the canal has been restored for amenity use, and is well-frequented by pleasure craft of all kinds.
The Grand Canal Way follows pleasant grassy towpaths, gravel and sometimes tarmac canal-side roads from Lucan Bridge near Adamstown in County Dublin 124km to Shannon Harbour on Ireland’s longest river.
The route is an informal linear park punctuated by the locks that characterise canal technology, carefully restored surviving lock-keepers cottages, and the towns and villages whose existence is owed to the trade and commerce the canal brought in the 18th and 19th centuries.
Much of the landscape through which the route passes has been untouched by modern agriculture and remains a linear oasis for the flora and fauna that was originally common throughout our countryside.
The many towns and villages along the way provide walkers with accommodation possibilities along the route, and as public transport options are good, these places can act as starting and finishing points for those who want to sample only sections of the route.
Estimated time to complete the whole route of 71 miles/114km is
4 to 5 days.'
This walk covers a section between Kylemore Bridge, Ballyfermot walking eastwards to the canal's junction with the River Liffey.

Ireland summary - Galway, Burren, Cliffs of Moher, Dingle, Kinsale, Dublin
Ireland is a small country blessed with the rich variety of wonderful sites, most famous for its green rolling hills, history, friendly people, and Guinness. Their brewery is the top visitor attraction in the country. We will show you that and much more in this comprehensive look at Ireland.
We'll bring you inside prehistoric stone structures in Dingle. We'll take a trip out to the Aran Islands by ferry, a remote place with a great many archaeological sites, traditional culture and spectacular sea cliffs. We will be visiting small villages along the way from Clifden to Kinsale, a southern village with an ancient stone fort.
Click to Subscribe
Our three main destinations will be Dingle, Galway and of course Dublin, capital of the country, a great center of culture, learning and nightlife.
Dublin is a wonderful city. But don't make the mistake when you're visiting Ireland of only going to Dublin – there's so much more to see.
On the map we will give you a quick preview of our entire itinerary. We took eight days to make a leisurely circuit all the way around the country. Our first major destination is Galway and Connemara, where we stayed for three nights.
We took our ferry ride out to the main island of the Aran Islands, Inishmore, where you can get around by horse and cart, or bicycle, or van tour.
For the entire eight days we were in the capable hands of our Irish driver and guide Martin Woulfe, who's going to summarize the entire visit.
We left Galway City, we came out to Oranmore. From Oranmore we came into Kinvara. Turn right in Kinvara, and we went down through the Burren in County Clare, down to the Cliffs of Moher. And from the Cliffs of Moher we came down the west coast of Clare. We came down to Liscannor. We continued on into Lahinch. From Lahinch we went down the west coast all the way down to Doonbeg. We had our lunch in Kilrush. And from Kilrush we caught our ferry across the River Shannon. We came into North Kerry, to Tarbert. And from Tarbert we came into Listowel. And from Listowel we went to Tralee, and from Tralee – we stopped in Tralee. We had a look at the gardens inTralee. We went to Camp, Lispole and on into Dingle and the Dingle Peninsula. We did our tour of Dingle Peninsula, Ventry, Ballyferrite. All on the Dingle Peninsula. And came back into Dingle, and we left Dingle. We went to a place called Inch, the longest beach, and into Killarney. And from Killarney we went to Macroom in County Cork. And from Macroom we went into Cork City, and down into Kinsale. We toured Kinsale. We left Kinsale, and we came from Kinsale, stopped in Cashel, the great rock of Cashel. And from Cashel we came up to Dublin.
Ending up in Dublin was a perfect way to finish the visit, because we've had a whole week out in the west of Ireland enjoying the greenery, and the little villages, and the historic sites. We nd up with some big city action. Be sure to look at our Ireland series for the complete picture that opens the door to this magical country.

Sights and Sounds of Dublin Ireland
I spent the day in Ireland while in transit, so as the weather turned out so well, I went for a walk around central Dublin to take in the sights and sounds to see if my camera could too. It's a tricky place to film, to be honest, but I hope you like it.
