Real Life Pirate Ship - Nao Victoria - Saint Augustine - Matts Rad Show
Victoria (or Nao Victoria, as well as Vittoria) was a Spanish carrack and the first ship to successfully circumnavigate the world. The Victoria was part of a Spanish expedition commanded by the Portuguese explorer Ferdinand Magellan, and after his death during the voyage, by Juan Sebastián Elcano. The expedition began with five ships but the Victoria was the only ship to complete the voyage. Magellan was killed in the Philippines. The ship was built at a shipyard in Gipuzkoa, with the Basques being reputed shipbuilders at the time, and along with the four other ships, it was given to Magellan by King Charles I of Spain. Victoria was named after the church of Santa Maria de la Victoria de Triana, where Magellan took an oath of allegiance to Charles V in order to be granted full access to the Spice Islands. Victoria was an 85 ton ship with a crew of 42.
The four other ships were Trinidad
San Antonio
Concepcion
Santiago
Trinidad, Magellan's flagship,
Victoria was rated a carrack or nao (ship), as were all the others except Trinidad, which was a caravel.

Tall ship El Galeón arrives at New London waterfront
The tall ship El Galeón, a 170 foot replica of a 16th century galleon from the Spanish West Indies fleet, arrived at New London's City Pier on Wednesday morning. The ship, operated by the Spanish non-profit Nao Victoria Foundation, is based in St. Augustine, Florida and has been touring the East Coast with recent stops in Portland and New York, and will stay in New London until August 9th.
Spanish Galeon, St Augustine, Florida
This is a Spanish Galeon that was in port at St. Augustine, FL (I Know I spelled Galeon wrong).
The Galleon Briefly Returns
The tall ship El Galeón, a replica of a Spanish galleon from the colonial period, is in St. Augustine for a limited time in April 2016. First Coast.TV spoke with Fernando Viota before the ships departure on Sunday.
The first historical ship like El Galeón to arrive in St. Augustine was the San Pelayo, the flagship of city founder Don Pedro Menéndez de Avilés. It was one of the most powerful ships of its day, weighing some 650 tons and carrying 800 colonists and supplies. Menéndez and his colonists established St. Augustine, the first permanent European settlement in the United States, in 1565.

Viajeros episode 1 (part 2).mp4
The Andalucia, a replica of the Spanish galleons that plied between the Philippines and Mexico until 1815, docked in Cebu on October 16, last year. The galleon replica was the first of its kind, in that it actually endeavored to re-trace the same route used by those galleons from centuries back. It took 6 months to get from Spain to the Philippines, and another 6 months from here to Spain. A momentous event, re-affirming ancient ties and fostering cultural solidarity.
Well, guess what, two of our paisanos were in Cebu at that time-- I, Sibagat Fuego, and the fat ninja himself, Juan Paloo. Both big fans of anything Hispanismos, they did not waste any time to get on the majestic boat. And en route, they also visited for the first time another Cebuano Hispanic heritage, the Fuerza de San Pedro, a fortress built around the 1730s.
Watch us represent Sibagat as we meet face to face with some of our cousins from España!
Pirates made their mark on the history of St. Augustine
St. Augustine has had more pirate activity than any other city in the continental United States. For over 450 years, Florida's Historic Coast has withstood every manner of attack, be it pirate or weather. St. Augustine would not be the same were it not for pirates.

KeysDiveGuideVol.27(GalleonHunter9)Ghost Ships-1733 Fleet
Meet Treasure Salvor Captain Finley Ricard and delve into the mysterious Ghost Ships of the 1733 Fleet! A Ghost Ship is a vessel that has not been relocated by modern salvors, her secrets entombed in the sands and coral of time. Check out a few recoveries Finley made near the Bahia Honda G-Marker 49A, that lead him to believe a Ghost Ship, possibly from the 1733 Fleet, rests hidden seaward of the old Bahia Honda Bridge. The only ship of the 1733 Fleet to make it back to Spain was SENOR SAN JOSEPH, nicknamed El Africa, a newly built Galleon displacing 500 tons. The Coffins Patch Wreck Trail, the focus of the upcoming Vol. 28 of KeysDiveGuide, is briefly discussed along with the final 3 wrecks documented on the old Spanish Chart, #18 - SAN FERNANDO, #19 - SAN IGNACIO, and a Situado (Supply Ship) LA FLORIDANA, which was bound for the growing Spanish Colony of St. Augustine. Two other ships on the manifest of registered vessels, LAS DELORES and EL ROSARIO were lost and never seen or heard from again. In addition, some reports state that over one dozen smaller undocumented ships departed Havana with the Armada for Spain. Without a doubt, there are still numerous undiscovered vessels, containing billions of dollars in treasure, cleverly concealed in the waters of the Florida Keys.
