Bolsover Castle (English Heritage) in Derbyshire | UK Travel Vlog | Visit England
In this UK travel vlog I visit the English Heritage property of Bolsover Castle in Derbyshire, which was once opened by the Cavendish family (of Chatsworth). Bolsover Castle is supposedly the most haunted English Heritage property and it did feel quite eerie - although maybe that was because it was a very cold April day! We look around the exhibition in the stables, the ruin, the 'little castle' with its many rooms, and the small gardens.

J.W. Evans Silver Factory, Birmingham
Not much silverware is seen on dining tables nowadays, but in the past it was extremely popular -- particularly during the Edwardian era. This film follows each step in the production of a typical product - a Chippendale-pattern candlestick, first produced in 1914. It was largely filmed on site at the former J.W. Evans silverware factory, in Birmingham's Jewellery Quarter.

Things to do in the Lake District: Stott Park Bobbin Mill
Once Stott Park Bobbin Mill was one of many mills in the Lake District that supplied millions of bobbins to the factories of Lancashire and Yorkshire. Now it's unique. It's the only place in the UK - and possibly in the world - where you can see how wooden bobbins were made. And it's done just as the men would have done in the mill's Victorian heyday.
Every day that the site is open, the site team run guided tours where they turn on all the machines and make a bobbin as you explore the site. On the first weekend of the month (and Bank Holidays) they also fire up the boiler and get the steam engine working.
Find out more about visiting Stott Park Bobbin Mill here:

Making Freddie Mercury's London Blue Plaque [with Queen footage]
To mark the 70th anniversary of Freddie Mercury’s birth, English Heritage is giving him a Blue Plaque at his childhood home in London. Our blue plaques have been hand-crafted by skilled artisans Frank and Sue Ashworth at their home and studio in Cornwall since 1984.
We visited them to find out more about the process of making a Blue Plaque, and ask their thoughts on commemorating Freddie Mercury.

ENGLAND: Beautiful FLOWERS ???? at JEPHSON GARDENS in LEAMINGTON SPA
SUBSCRIBE: - Let's go to the beautiful city of Leamington Spa in England and let's visit the beautiful Je[phson Gardens. First laid out in 1831 as informal riverside walks in Leamington, the original Newbold Gardens were developed as more formal pleasure grounds after 1846 in honour of Dr Henry Jephson, who had promoted the town as a spa.
The Jephson Gardens gained renown for their entertainments, military bands, promenading, croquet and tennis, fountains, illuminations, trees and flowers. They are listed as Grade II on the English Heritage register of historic parks and gardens.
England, birthplace of Shakespeare and The Beatles, is a country in the British Isles bordering Scotland and Wales. The capital, London, on the River Thames, is home of Parliament, Big Ben and the 11th-century Tower of London. It's also a multicultural, modern hub for the arts and business. Other large cities are Manchester, Birmingham, Liverpool, Bristol and the university centres of Oxford and Cambridge.

English Heritage: The Spirit of England - Vol. 2 UK VHS (1999, FULL!)
Originally released in 1999 by Tadpole Lane.
A superb video featuring 9 of England's finest historical monuments, including castles, priories and country houses.
Nine more superb English Heritage sites, the legacy of thousands of years of the nation's rich and dramatic history.
In this second hour - long video tour of some of the finest historical sites in England, in the care of English Heritage, we visit the majestic hilltop ruins of Bolsover Castle in Derbyshire; Down House in Kent, the home of Charles Darwin for 40 years from where the great scientist wrote 'On the Origin of Species'; and the medieval ruins of one of the east of England's best - preserved priories, Castle Acre in Norfolk.
We also explore the great Isle of Wight fortress of Carisbrooke Castle, where Charles I spent his last days before being executed; the Victorian splendour of Brodsworth Hall in South Yorkshire; and Henry II's towering castle at Orford on the Suffolk coast.
En route we reveal the treasures of Walmer Castle in Kent, where the Queen Mother often stays; the 12th century Framlingham Castle in Suffolk topped by it's famous Tudor chimneys; and the splendour of one of Norman England's most important strongholds at Kenilworth Castle in Warwickshire ...... all in all, a visual feast of history which can be enjoyed again and again.
I own nothing.
Heritage Motor Centre - Britain's Best Brigades finalist (English Midlands)
It’s not uncommon for the team of ten in the kitchens at Warwickshire’s Heritage Motor Centre to cater for up to 1000 covers a day, yet this passionate brigade thrives on the heat of service. With many members trained at the renowned Birmingham College, it’s a winning mix of skill, experience and passion that keeps this group ticking.
The public vote is now open as Essential Cuisine’s search for the UK’s best chef team – Britain’s Best Brigades – reaches its climax.
Eight regional finalists now remain. Each has been tasked with creating a short video to bring their original entry to life and showcase their kitchen camaraderie, togetherness and teamwork.
Voters now have until midnight on the 29th June 2015 to go to bestbrigades.co.uk and crown a winner, who will receive the title, £1000 cash and an exclusive menu development masterclass with a leading UK chef.
Dover Castle - England's Most Haunted Castle?
It’s the end of the day at Dover Castle, and everyone has gone home – or have they?
Given that Dover Castle's turbulent past stretches back over 2,000 years, it's no surprise that the castle is considered to be one of England's most haunted. The atmospheric site in Kent has certainly produced a spine-tingling tale or two over the years, with some of the most chilling involving the apparition of a mysterious lady in red, and the tragic figure of a Napoleonic drummer boy.
Visitors have also reported strange sightings in the Secret Wartime Tunnels, like the ghostly figure of a man dressed in military uniform, and hearing the eerie echoes of slamming doors, typewriters and running boots…
