Louisiana Swamps (USA) Vacation Travel Video Guide
Travel video about destination Lousiana Swamps in The USA.
In the southern region of Louisiana there is a fascinating and mysterious swampland that was once the sole domain of courageous hunters and trappers. Following the construction of several large dams and water barriers that were designed to defend against catastrophic floods in the extensive delta region, a large network of smaller canals, or 'bayous', was created. Today the Louisiana swamps provide a unique habitat for both indigenous and migratory wildlife and a natural refuge far away from civilisation. Some time ago it was the mink that attracted great hordes of trappers to this region that also served as a hiding place for various bandits and pirates. The desolation of the swamps was well appreciated by those who attempted to escape from the law and they certainly possess an eerie atmosphere. However, the colourful stories of n'er do well's and legendary figures such as Bigfoot have added to the enigmatic character of this intriguing area. Thus from year to year the fascination in the Louisiana swamps continues to captivate an increasing number of visitors.

For as long as we have existed, the human race has been wondering the same old question; what happens to us after our time on this Earth is over? Do we go to heaven, or the other place? Or do we hang out on Earth in a more spiritual form? Many people believe in the latter, and we also believe that people who lived in the past are still living in their homes! We like to call these people, “ghosts.” Of course, experiencing something that is unknown is relatively unnerving and can make anyone a little bit tense. But, just because we sometimes can’t see a haunting, it doesn’t mean that it’s bad! Yet, there are other haunted places that will give you the willies so bad that you’ll want to get out as fast as you can! Are you brave enough to enter a haunted house? They are waiting for you!

New Orleans, Louisiana - Norwegian Getaway Departs New Orleans (2020)
Norwegian Getaway is a cruise ship of the Norwegian Cruise Line. It was built by Meyer Werft in Papenburg, Germany, and was delivered to its owner on 10 January 2014. At the time of its christening it was the world's ninth-largest cruise ship with a passenger capacity of 3,969 and a crew of 1,640.
Amenities on board the ship include restaurants by chef Geoffrey Zakarian, an entertainment venue devoted to magic called the Illusionarium, and another entertainment venue themed in conjunction with the Grammy Awards. The ship is based in Miami and mostly sails seven-night Eastern Caribbean cruises. It was christened in Miami on February 7, 2014, with the Miami Dolphins Cheerleaders serving as godmothers. The ship departed on its maiden voyage the next day.
New Orleans is a consolidated city-parish located along the Mississippi River in the southeastern region of the U.S. state of Louisiana. With an estimated population of 391,006 in 2018, it is the most populous city in Louisiana. Serving as a major port, New Orleans is considered an economic and commercial hub for the broader Gulf Coast region of the United States.
New Orleans is world-renowned for its distinct music, Creole cuisine, unique dialect, and its annual celebrations and festivals, most notably Mardi Gras. The historic heart of the city is the French Quarter, known for its French and Spanish Creole architecture and vibrant nightlife along Bourbon Street. The city has been described as the most unique in the United States, owing in large part to its cross-cultural and multilingual heritage. Founded in 1718 by French colonists, New Orleans was once the territorial capital of French Louisiana before being traded to the United States in the Louisiana Purchase of 1803. New Orleans in 1840 was the third-most populous city in the United States, and it was the largest city in the American South from the Antebellum era until after World War II. The city's location and flat elevation have historically made it very vulnerable to flooding. State and federal authorities have installed a complex system of levees and drainage pumps in an effort to protect the city.
New Orleans was severely affected by Hurricane Katrina on August 29, 2005, which resulted in flooding more than 80% of the city, thousands of deaths, and so much displacement because of damaged communities and lost housing as to cause a population decline of over 50%. Since Katrina, major redevelopment efforts have led to a rebound in the city's population. Concerns about gentrification, new residents buying property in formerly closely knit communities, and displacement of longtime residents have been expressed.

BREAKING NEWS Out Of Louisiana… It’s Really BAD
A Louisiana man attacked and butchered his ex-wife to death with an ax as she left for work in a New Orleans suburb Wednesday, authorities said.St. Bernard Parish Deputy Chief John Doran identified the suspect as a 56-year-old Mark Owens and the victim as a 48-year-old Kimberly Owens, Fox8Live reported.Chief Doran said Mark Owens may have been lying in wait for his ex-wife under the house his she shared with her mother in Chalmette. He said that Owens tried to attack his former mother-in-law, but fortunately was able to escape to safety. The mother … heard screams, exited the house and saw the attack in progress,” St. Bernard Parish Sheriff James Pohlmann told reporters, “and begged for the attack to stop, and at some point, he may have gone after her.”
Mark Owens initially fled the scene, but later turned himself in.
A former St. Bernard Parish correctional officer, Mark Owens, 56, was arrested and is being held at the St. Bernard Parish jail. He is being charged with second-degree murder.
Pohlmann said Kimberly Owens had obtained a restraining order against Mark Owens in 2015 after he was arrested and charged with false imprisonment and simple battery. In that incident, Owens was accused of grabbing Kimberly Owens from a swing set near her house and brandished a weapon, though the sheriff said he likely meant “to harm himself.” St. Bernard Parish officers responded to the scene, including a SWAT team, before Mark Owens was eventually talked out of his home and arrested, Fox News reports.
New Orleans businessman and reality TV star Sidney Torres IV said Kimberly Owens worked for him on-and-off for more than a decade. She performed analysis and did other duties for his venture capital company, IV Capital, and his sanitation company, IV Waste, Nola.com reported.
“It’s hard,” Torres said, coping with her death. “The thing about Kim was…she was like family… She was like the mother of the office.”
In a post on his Facebook page, Torres wrote she was “the kindest, most considerate person anyone could know,” and said she was loved by many.
“Everything was fine as far as we could tell,” he said. “It’s a sad thing. It’s sad for us in the office and her family.”
In 2014, Pohlmann said, Mark Owens accused Kimberly Owens of having a romantic relationship with then-St. Bernard Parish President Dave Peralta. Mark Owens made threats against Peralta, and was later found to have attempted suicide after swallowing pills, Pohlmann said. Mark Owens wasn’t charged in relation to the incident, but he was treated medically following the suicide attempt
Kimberly Owens death marks the second homicide in St. Bernard Parish in 2017. The year’s first homicide the sheriff’s office investigated — a murder-suicide in March — was also domestic. Authorities said then that Tamara Lee, 36, fatally shot her husband, Demond Mullens, 37, March 13 inside their Deerfield Drive home, before turning the gun on herself.
What a horrific act of violence. This guy is a complete maniac.
Rest in peace young lady.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to her family and friends.
