Essential Egypt Tour | kezimah
A couple of weeks ago we went on a Travel Talk Tour through Jordan and Egypt. This video shows our trip of Egypt where we traveled to Cairo, Luxor and Aswan. We saw the pyramids, MANY temples and even got a bit of market time.

LUXOR TEMPLE & VALLEY OF THE KINGS | Egypt Travel Vlog
We only had one day to explore Luxor, Egypt, so even though we barely slept on the overnight train from Cairo, we went out at 7:00 A.M. to be the first and only tourists at the incredible Luxor Temple! It was totally worth it because it wasn't too hot yet and we took all the videos and photos we wanted with NO other people! Once the first tour bus arrived, we headed back to our hotel and had breakfast (AND COFFEE), but then decided to nap for few hours to wait out the mid day heat before heading to the Valley of the Kings via a $0.10 ferry and $7 taxi. Once again, we felt like there should have been way more tourists than there was, but we weren't complaining!

Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, we got married June 2013 and quickly caught the travel bug! We started “travel hacking” and taking more trips together and finally decided we wanted to travel for one year. After 2 years of saving $ and travel hacking over 2 million miles and points, we sold our cars and apartment and left home January 10, 2016. We started this YouTube channel to share our experiences with friends and family, then decided we really liked vlogging and traveling. So we extended our 1 year trip to THREE years :) Now we have a goal of traveling to 100 countries before Nate turns 30 (which is March 20, 2019)! We are incredibly thankful to do something we love every day. :)
EGYPT OVERNIGHT TRAIN | Cairo to Luxor in First Class

10 Things NOT to Do in Egypt
Get more Tips here!
When you think of Egypt, you might picture miles of sand and rock, but Egypt is home to much more than just pyramids. However, there is also some danger lingering in the nation’s corners. If you want to avoid trouble, here are some tips to help make sure your trip is nothing but great memories.
1. Don’t Engage in PDA
This means that you should avoid any kind of kissing — even a peck on the cheek — as it may be considered rude. You should also avoid hugging, too.
2. Consider a Tour Guide
Even if you’ve got a little bit of world travel experience, it's a good idea to enlist someone who is familiar with the terrain. It doesn't cost as much as you’d think.
3. Don’t Wear Sleeveless T-Shirts
Apart from Egypt’s coastal cities, the locals are a little more amenable if you stick to moderate clothing. Men should avoid sleeveless T’s and women should consider avoiding shorts.
4. Don’t Pay Sticker Price
In Egypt, they expect you to do a little bit of haggling for pretty much anything you can buy. Whether you’re picking up a pack of smokes or you’re picking out a souvenir, the merchants will expect a little bit of sport before the final purchase.
5. Don’t Cross the Street By Yourself
The traffic in Cairo is chaotic. The cars won’t stop for you, either. Fortunately, you can either follow an Egyptian as he or she crosses the street or someone will help you. They really are nice people.
6. Don’t Hire People on the Street
In the most popular tourist areas, you might be approached by strangers offering a special tour of a specific site. Don’t take them up on it. Hiring a guide is a good idea, but go through registered sources.
7. Don’t Forget to Tip
In Egypt, you should not only leave a tip when you’re in a restaurant, but you should also leave a little bit of gratuity in clothing shops and commercial outlets!
8. Don’t Pet Stray Animals
When you’re in highly populated urban areas, you’re likely to run across the occasional stray cat or a pack of stray dogs. They might look like they’re in need of some snuggles, but they might also be violent or carrying infectious diseases.
9. Don’t Drink on the Street
You might be inclined to let loose because you’re on vacation, but don’t drink any alcohol in the street. Not only is it unacceptable from a social standpoint, in some areas you might be committing a crime.
10. Don’t Worry About Punctuality
If you make plans to meet some place with an Egyptian local, don’t be surprised if they’re late. It’s not a personal slight, just go with it.
Where do you want to know what not to do in next?

FINALLY IT'S UP! HOLY
This video was made to talk about my time in Egypt, and tips that I have told people who have approached me about visiting this country. This was my experience there and some tips for traveling there!
After promising multiple people that I would do this video, and having a million things going on in my life as well as it being the longest video i have ever taped, the editing took so many hours! I had recorded one prior to this one and didn't end up liking how it turned out so I redid it and had to edit this one so it took weeks with everything going on!
Finally it's here though.
I went to Egypt blind with no expectations, I didn't know anyone who had been and I wanted to see for myself. So here is the struggles I had, the most amazing scenery I had seen and where to go!

Tour Company we used in Egypt:
REAL EGYPT TOURS:
We spent a month sorting through tour companies, getting quotes and itineraries for this trip.
We were nervous about safety and wanted to make sure we had a tour company that would customize a private tour for us that met our needs (with little kids and unique experiences).
We finally settled on Real Egypt Tours - with owner Samir and his office manager, Adele, they assembled an amazing itinerary for us. We never once felt unsafe (to be fair, we didn't go out much past dark:).
We had some of our most memorable experiences - from an overnight train from Cairo to Aswan (which the kids just adored), a 24 hour Felucca sail (traditional sailboat on the Nile) - where we slept under the stars overnight and ate all our meals on the boat! From exploring the lesser known Pyramids (where we were practically the only ones there), to desert dune climbs, to donkey rides through a local Luxor village, to a cooking class and dinner at a local family's home, to visiting the illuminated Luxor Temple at night (which Real Egypt suggested and was the most amazing thing to see the temple all lit up at night) to... so much more.
Every single tour guide and person we worked with was caring and went out of their way to make sure we were enjoying our time. So... we'd obviously highly recommend Real Egypt Tours if you visit Egypt!
-----
Now, there are some downsides of Egypt:
- Pollution in Cairo is really bad and the air quality in general there is quite terrible.
- The Nile River near Cairo is rather polluted and we saw people openly dumping trash into the River :( Everywhere in the world has a trash problem, but Cairo's is very visible.
- Smoking. Honestly, it's the worst. Everyone seems to smoke and you can't get away from it. Hotels, restaurants - smoking is allowed everywhere. And with kids, it is really the last thing we'd like them breathing in.
* Food was okay. There were some delicious flavors, but didn't have a wide variety of greens which we love. We love local flavors, but after a couple weeks we found the flavors to be a bit repetitive
These downsides were heavily outweighed by the monumental and once-in-a-lifetime sites we were able to thoroughly experience up close and personal along the Nile, and the people we on the Real Egypt team along with others we met were super friendly and welcoming to our little family!

Cairo, Egypt with Travel Talk Tours
Travel Talk 1st day in Egypt was amazing such a culture shock. But instantly fell in love with the Country. I found even from the start my eyes could not decide what side of the windows to look out of.
All the attractions we went to were amazing such as the pyramids and temples also seen the bazaar and visited a mosque, even had time to squeeze in the history museum where we seem real mummy’s. The few days we spent here was definitely spent well.
Here is an insight into what the tour is like when we visit Cairo . Check out my YouTube channel to see the rest of the stops in Travel Talk’s Egypt by Felucca and Jordan tour.

HERE IS HOW MUCH I SPENT ON MY 14 DAY EGYPT TOUR
This year, I decided to live out my dreams of travelling by taking a huge chance and booking a King Ramses tour in Egypt for 14 days with On The Go Tours and Flight Centre. It was my first of MANY tours. When I returned, people asked me how much it was, etc. I have been getting these questions in dribs and drabs so I decided to share all the costs associated with the tour right here.
