Evans Head Memorial Aerodrome
Evans Head Memorial Aerodrome is threatened by real-estate development. During World War II, more than 5500 aircrew trained at the aerodrome. Listing on the Australian National Heritage Register would help preserve the facility as a home for aviation and as a war memorial. evansheadmemorialaerodrome.org.au

Evans Head F-111 Museum | Caribou Tour
Here is my experience at the Evans Head F-111 Museum. This museum is a must for any one travelling along the Pacific Highway between Brisbane and Sydney. Evans Head is only located a little over two hours away from the CBD of Brisbane and 8 hours away from Sydney. Evans Head used to have a big army base in operation which had a lot of F-111's based there. Now days the Evans Headland is used as a practice bombing site for the new F/A-18 Hornets and Growlers.
I hope you all enjoy!

Evans Head Great Eastern Fly in 2015 Part 1
Usually in the first half of January each year, the Northern New South Wales coastal hamlet of Evans Head comes alive for a weekend with the Great Eastern Fly-in when aircraft from hundreds of kilometres arrive for two full days of aviation adventure with handling displays and aerobatics by leading display pilots in a diversity of aircraft. Evans Head was a World War Two training airfield and honours that history with an excellent service museum. There are supporting activities with a folk market and car club displays, but they’re not what this is about. Planes, planes and more planes.

V-2 rocket
The V-2 (German: Vergeltungswaffe 2, Vengeance Weapon 2), technical name Aggregat-4 (A4), was the world's first long-range ballistic missile. The liquid-propellant rocket was developed during the Second World War in Germany as a vengeance weapon, designed to attack Allied cities as a form of retaliation for the ever-increasing Allied bomber effort against German cities. The V-2 rocket was also the first man-made object to enter the fringes of space.
Beginning in September 1944, over 3,000 V-2s were launched by the German Wehrmacht against Allied targets during the war, mostly London and later Antwerp and Liège. According to a BBC documentary in 2011, the attacks resulted in the deaths of an estimated 9,000 civilians and military personnel, while 12,000 forced laborers and concentration camp prisoners were killed producing the weapons.

Senate Passes Bill Tightening State Government, Honoring Veterans
A bill allocating $876 million dollars for administrative agencies, state IT services, the Minnesota Historical Society and the Minnesota Humanities Center won Senate approval Thursday, April 25. Co-sponsored by Senator Mary Kiffmeyer, R-Big Lake, and Senator Bruce Anderson, R-Buffalo Township, it also provides $209 million dollars for veterans.
According to Kiffmeyer, the bill attempts several reforms to state budgeting and information technology while beefing up cyber security efforts.
Among the many provisions, the bill imposes a freeze on full-time employee positions and requires agencies to implement zero-based budgeting. It appropriates $20.5 million dollars for cybersecurity efforts and another $13 million dollars for election equipment.
In the area of veterans services, the measure allocates funds for the C.O.R.E. program, which offers counseling and education services for veterans and their families. It also authorizes about $32 million dollars for veteran homes in Preston, Montevideo and Bemidji. Finally, the bill designates a POW and MIA Recognition Day; an American Allies Day and a Veterans Suicide Awareness Day.
In an emotional debate, the Senate adopted an amendment offered by Senator Foung Hawj, DFL-St. Paul, declaring May 14 as Hmong Special Guerilla Units Memorial Day. St. Paul is home to the largest Hmong residents in the nation, and many immigrated following the Vietnam war, where many fought in the American Secret War in Laos.

SUMMARY
=======
Bermuda () is a British Overseas Territory in the North Atlantic Ocean. It is approximately 1,070 km (665 mi) east-southeast of Cape Hatteras, North Carolina; 1,236 km (768 mi) south of Cape Sable Island, Nova Scotia; and 1,759 km (1,093 mi) north of Cuba. The capital city is Hamilton. Bermuda is self-governing, with its own constitution and its own government, which enacts local laws, while the United Kingdom retains responsibility for defence and foreign relations.
Bermuda's two largest economic sectors are offshore insurance and reinsurance, and tourism. Bermuda had one of the world's highest GDP per capita for most of the 20th century. The island has a subtropical climate and lies in the hurricane belt and thus is prone to related severe weather; however, it is somewhat protected by a coral reef that surrounds the island and its position at the north of the belt, which limits the direction and severity of approaching storms.

Brisbane ( (listen)) is the capital of and the most populated city in the Australian state of Queensland, and the third most populous city in Australia. Brisbane's metropolitan area has a population of approximately 2.5 million, and the South East Queensland metropolitan region, centred on Brisbane, encompasses a population of more than 3.6 million. The Brisbane central business district stands on the historic European settlement and is situated inside a peninsula of the Brisbane River, about 15 kilometres (9 miles) from its mouth at Moreton Bay. The metropolitan area extends in all directions along the floodplain of the Brisbane River Valley between Moreton Bay and the Great Dividing Range, sprawling across several of Australia's most populous local government areas (LGAs)—most centrally the City of Brisbane, which is by far the most populous LGA in the nation. The demonym of Brisbane is Brisbanite or Brisbanian.One of the oldest cities in Australia, Brisbane was founded upon the ancient homelands of the indigenous Turrbal and Jagera peoples. Named after the Brisbane River on which it is located—which in turn takes its name from the Scotsman Sir Thomas Brisbane, the Governor of New South Wales from 1821 to 1825—the area was chosen as a place for secondary offenders from the Sydney Colony. A penal settlement was founded in 1824 at Redcliffe, 28 kilometres (17 mi) north of the central business district, but was soon abandoned and moved to North Quay in 1825, opening to free settlement in 1842. There was conflict between the European people and the Aboriginal people from 1843 to 1855. The development was partly set back by the Great Fire of Brisbane of 1864, and the Great Brisbane Flood of 1893. Brisbane was chosen as the capital when Queensland was proclaimed a separate colony from New South Wales in 1859. During World War II, Brisbane played a central role in the Allied campaign and served as the South West Pacific headquarters for United States Army General Douglas MacArthur.Today, Brisbane is well known for its distinct Queenslander architecture which forms much of the city's built heritage. It also received attention for its damaging flood events, most notably in 1974 and 2011. Major landmarks and precincts include; the South Bank Parklands and the Queensland Cultural Centre, City Hall and King George Square, the Story Bridge, the City Botanic Gardens and Parliament of Queensland, ANZAC Square, Howard Smith Wharves, Fortitude Valley, West End, Roma Street Parkland, New Farm Park and the Brisbane Powerhouse, St John's Cathedral, Mount Coot-tha, Redcliffe and Moreton and Stradbroke Islands. SUMMARY

The English Electric Canberra is a British first-generation jet-powered medium bomber. It was developed by English Electric during the mid-to-late 1940s in response to a 1944 Air Ministry requirement for a successor to the wartime de Havilland Mosquito fast bomber. Among the performance requirements for the type was the demand for an outstanding high-altitude bombing capability and high speed. These were partly accomplished by making use of newly developed jet propulsion technology. When the Canberra was introduced to service with the Royal Air Force (RAF), the type's first operator, in May 1951, it became the service's first jet-powered bomber.
Throughout most of the 1950s, the Canberra could fly at a higher altitude than any other aircraft in the world. In 1957, a Canberra established a world altitude record of 70,310 feet (21,430 m). In February 1951, another Canberra set another world record when it became the first jet aircraft to make a non-stop transatlantic flight. Due to its ability to evade the early jet interceptor aircraft and its significant performance advancement over contemporary piston-engined bombers, the Canberra became a popular aircraft on the export market, being procured for service in the air forces of many nations both inside and outside of the Commonwealth of Nations. The type was also licence produced in Australia by the Government Aircraft Factories and in the US by Martin as the B-57 Canberra. The latter produced both slightly modified B-57A Canberra, and the significantly updated B-57B.
In addition to being a tactical nuclear strike aircraft, the Canberra proved to be highly adaptable, serving in varied roles such as tactical bombing and photographic and electronic reconnaissance. Canberras served in the Suez Crisis, the Vietnam War, the Falklands War, the Indo-Pakistani wars, and numerous African conflicts. In several wars, each of the opposing sides had Canberras in their air forces. The Canberra had a lengthy service life, serving for more than 50 years with some operators. In June 2006, the RAF retired the last of its Canberras, 57 years after its first flight. Three of the Martin B-57 variant remain in service, performing meteorological work for NASA, as well as providing electronic communication (Battlefield Airborne Communications Node or BACN) testing for deployment to Afghanistan.

Listening is a more natural way of learning, when compared to reading. Written language only began at around 3200 BC, but spoken language has existed long ago.
Learning by listening is a great way to:
- increases imagination and understanding
- improves your listening skills
- improves your own spoken accent
- learn while on the move
- reduce eye strain
Now learn the vast amount of general knowledge available on Wikipedia through audio (audio article). You could even learn subconsciously by playing the audio while you are sleeping! If you are planning to listen a lot, you could try using a bone conduction headphone, or a standard speaker instead of an earphone.

SUMMARY
=======
