I see water flowing up a hill 1
The blush of dawn
Fire blooming in the ruins
Salt for wounds 2
We never learn
We never forget
Mismanaged assent 3
The words of silent dissidents
Will make great art
Great art.
Pray on, pray on
The sin of indifference and
The glory of blame
A cool breeze of regrets
The dark warmth of shame
Downtrodden for decades gets you underground, underground
Hidden depths, secrets, walkways tunnels leading down and out, down and out
Pray on, pray on
Petrol on paving stones 4
The milk is burned / milk is burning / burning milk 5
And we have sea salt for your wounds
Scafold your defenses 6
Ballrooms and squash courts are burning 7
Turning
Into
Galleries and coffee houses,
Bistros and theatres
Cinemas
Tanning salons and betting shops
We don't know when to stop
Pray on, pray on
They are painting you pictures while you lie bruised and beaten down
They'll hang portraits of your wounds in great galleries for you
How beautiful the paintings will be
How good a riot looks with the film slowed down
How good that will sound
Free art, free milk for everyone
Free art, free milk for everyone 8
Pray on, play on
Pray on, play on

The Liverpool Everyman Theatre Reborn
A record of the celebrations to mark the reopening of the Liverpool Everyman Theatre on March 1st 2014, following its £27 million refurbishment. A major event, with a lantern parade, giant puppets, great pyrotechnical balls of fire, moving onscreen tributes from actors acknowledging their debt to its previous incarnation... and one from Mr. Mayor, of course. A brief glimpse of the interior of the new building during their Housewarming event the following day is also shown at the end of the video.
CRACKED Rehearsal
Sam Baxter, a student from Liverpool University has been doing some brilliant work on placement with us during rehearsals for 'Cracked. Here's some rehearsal footage he's filmed and edited together for us.
'CRACKED' is Collective Encounters next play premiering at The Everyman Theatre, Liverpool 02/12/16. 'Cracked' is the insanities of modern Britain laid bare, showing us all how easy it is to fall through the cracks and how hard it is to get back out. Tickers are free, book here:

Macbeth - Digital Theatre - David Morrissey at Liverpool Everyman
Watch the full production at Digital Theatre:
Macbeth's desire to gain power and keep it at all costs threatens to destroy a nation; replacing dignity and the rules of law with guilt and paranoia.
One of the country's foremost actors, David Morrissey, returns to the Everyman, where he first acted as a Youth Theatre member. He plays the murderous king opposite Julia Ford as Lady Macbeth, in Shakespeare's most visceral and menacing play.
Artistic Director Gemma Bodinetz directs a striking new production in a theatre renowned for its daring ensemble shows.

Liverpool Everyman Portrait Wall
In 2012 we invited people to take part in a project to create a Portrait Wall on the front of the new Everyman.
Designed by architect Steve Tompkins, from photographs by Dan Kenyon, this large-scale artwork is a powerful expression of the fact that the Everyman is and always will be for everyone.
This is the story of how we made the Portrait Wall.
