A wee walk around my local park in Govan. Part 1 of 3.
Turning on to Govan Road, Fairfield's (Kvaerner) Shipyard on the right. Turn into Elder Park then past the Boating Pond. Next is Fairfield Farm (1850) which is adjacent the Mansion House portico (1791) which I walk through then exit.

The launch of the Canadian Pacific steamship Princess Elizabeth at Fairfield shipyard on the Clyde was included in the Glasgow edition of the Topical Budget newsreel. SS Princess Elizabeth went on to ply the route between Victoria and Vancouver, Canada, before moving on to the Seattle-Victoria journey. She was sold by Canadian Pacific in 1960, and reached the end of her active service in 1976 when she was scrapped.
