The next day, arriving past the changing grasslands of Patagonia, the last hope of Chile, Torres del Paine. We boast of staging from entrance. Are you alone? Yes. Are you here for the first time? I'm trying. I wish I could finish it. Where are you going? I'm going to the Mirador (observatory). I'll go a little faster. . Torres del Fais is proud to be one of the world's top ten wineries. My heart is getting bigger in the unexplored. A full-scale hike began. A small wooded forest road. Feeling the little sunshine, I climb the mountain trail. In Spanish, it is called Ciruli (small plum tree) and in English it is called Firebush. Because of the red flowers. I can see it in October and November. The scientific name is 'Embolium Coxinemium'. It is a very pretty tree. Evergreen. Compare that to other forests over there. This dark red flower keeps walking. How much it has gone up, the vast grasslands and blue lakes spread like paintings, and the rugged valleys melt in the ice caps. In short, it is spectacular. Although there are some passageways, most roads are perimeter roads. Feel the pure nature and the breath of the wild and enjoy the treking pleasure. The valley water and the ice core are the water that can feel the refreshing feeling by only viewing. Coolness deeply passes through the body. Under the mountain comes a voice. These are the local herdsmen Baki Ano. It is said that it carries necessary things in the mountain cottage. Patagonia to meet all four seasons in one day. The top of the mountain is a winter landscape that is different from the below. The cabin arrived in three hours. However, it does not operate in winter. About 45 minutes to the summit. From here, you must climb steep slopes. When the bridge is released, climbers climbing down the mountain clap their hands..

March of the Penguins, Isla Magdalena, Punta Arenas, Chile
Punta Arenas may not be the most fascinating town in Chile, but it serves as a great getaway to Southern Patagonia. It is here, in the Strait of Magellan, on Isla Magdalena, we came face to face with a colony of Magellanic penguins!
For more info about the penguin tour to Isla Magdalena, read our post:

PUNTA ARENAS - CHILE w/ TASHI & NUNGSHI
???? It was a beautiful afternoon, and many of us went out to the deck & soaked in the sunlight. We looked at the #fjords and restless waves along the strait where Magellan first explored it five centuries ago & felt in awe that we were able to retrace it. The magnificent & brooding landscape along the strait remains unchanged to this day ????
✯
If you plan to travel in Chile’s southern Patagonia & want to see #penguins ????, Magdalena Island is one of the best options & is significantly cheaper to visit than its Argentinian counterparts. This island is an uninhabited island located in the #heart of the Strait of Magellan, and is home to 350,000 Magellanic penguins. Isn’t that amazing?? ????
✯
The number of penguins has been increasing since the Chilean government has banned commercial fishing activities and made an effort to preserve the natural resources of the island. Yes!!! More coming soon. Stay tuned for our second Vlog ????

Patagonia Trip - Punta Arena and Santiago
This is part of our 2018 Patagonia trip. We flew from San Francisco to Santiago with a stop in Miami. Santiago is a pretty modernized city with 7 million population. There are many attractions around Plaza de Armas including the free Santiago walking tours(tips recommended), the pre-Columbian museum, Metropolitan Cathedral, and more. Walk up to Santa Lucia Hill is pleasant and the top of the hill has good views of Santiago. Bellavista is an area with many artwork to tour. it's also a good place to have a drink. You can feel this is a pretty hippie town here. The central market (Mercado Central) is another attraction with lots of fresh seafood, fruits, and other merchandise. We also have great seafood lunch including famous King Crab inside Central market. There are a lot of great food in Chile, seafood and lamb are what we enjoyed the most.
Punta Arena is a transit spot of our Patagonia trip. We got the rental car from the airport, maps from the city, and got our laundry done here. But we have a few magic moment to see the beautiful town around sunset at Cerro de la Cruz and the sunrise on Strait of Magellan on the way to airport.
Tour to Fort Bulnes to see the history of early European settlement is very educational. And the view of strait of Magellan is awesome. E also got a chance to walk inside craters in Pali Aike national park on the way back from Argentina.
