Puerto Vallarta Tours: Since 1995, the Pirate ship Marigalante has been one of the most popular tours in all of Vallarta, and one of the most recognized symbols of Puerto Vallarta. Unlike any other vessel on Banderas Bay, this beautiful craft is an exact replica of the Santa María, one of the ships used by Christopher Columbus over 500 years ago to discover new lands.
The Marigalante was built in Alvarado Veracruz, Mexico by the Mar, Hombre y Paz Civil Association, (Sea, Man and Peace a non-profit organization,) to commemorate historical voyages, especially the 500th Anniversary of the Discovery of America. Over 30 types of tropical woods were used during construction, which began in 1980 and was completed in 1987.
On September 26 1987, the Marigalante took her maiden voyage from Alvarado Veracruz to Santoña in Cantabria Spain, the birthplace of Juan de la Cosa, the author of the very first Mapa Mundi. The owner of the Santa Maria, Cosa sailed with Columbus on his first three voyages to the New World, and was the master and cartographer of the Marigalante in 1493.- toursinvallarta.com

New Years in Puerto Vallarta | Mexico
Hey guys! Happy New Year! I celebrated the coming of 2019 in Puerto Vallarta on the beach watching fireworks. There were a lot of people, but there was still plenty of standing room. The amount of people wasn't absolutely overwhelming. I enjoyed welcoming 2019 on the beach listening to the crashing of waves and watching the explosion of fireworks.

For more information on El Malecon Visit:
A visit to Puerto Vallarta is not complete without at least one stroll along the Malecon, the seaside promenade that is, and always has been (at least the last 80 or so years), the heart and soul of this beautiful tropical Pacific Coast destination.
Puerto Vallarta is the second-most visited tourist destination in Mexico, (only Cancun has more visitors), attracting over 3.9 million visiting tourists per year (2013 data - up 5% from the 3.7 that came here in 2012), and has served as an unhurried refuge for people seeking more than just a beautiful beach, there is a sizeable colony of United States, Canadian, and European citizens living in the city.
PV or Vallarta (as locals call the place) is a city located on the Pacific Coast of Mexico in the State of Jalisco within a large bay called Banderas Bay (Bay of Flags) or Bahía de Banderas.
The city is 3 hours away by plane from Los Angeles, and just over 4.5 from Seattle, Vancouver, Calgary, Chicago, New York & Toronto. More air flight distances.

New Years Eve Puerto Vallarta Mexico
New Years Eve Puerto Vallarta Mexico. Puerto Vallarta Nuevo Vallarta New Years eve around the Bay, beautiful beaches, lush jungles, and sparkling waterfalls offer many opportunities for the adventurous, while five-star resorts, world-class shopping, and gourmet restaurants satisfy even the most sophisticated traveler. Stretching from the south end of Old Town to central downtown, a newly extended and refurbished boardwalk along the ocean, called the Malecon, passes by any number of shops, restaurants, and hotels, and often plays host to mimes, breakdancers, clowns and artists.
The residents of Puerto Vallarta are very friendly and generally willing to help with directions and other requests. Old town Vallarta (or the Zona Romantica district) south of the River Cuale is more like a Mexican town and less like a tourist trap.
English is widely spoken, and as a tourist destination prices are higher than many other places in Mexico. Puerto Vallarta is very crowded at holiday times if planning a visit to Mexico that coincides with a major holiday consider opting to visit Mexico City or Guadalajara instead. The cities empty out as Mexicans and tourists alike flood to the beaches. Spring Break 2012

Fireworks at Olas Altas Beach, Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, Mexico.
To learn more about Olas Altas, visit:
Probably the most famous, most visited and most popular beaches in town, The Olas Altas Beach is located in Cuale River Island, quite a few international hotels and resorts serve as its background, great for people watching, families and it's fine for swimming and other beach activities.
The area surrounding it is known as the Old Town or Zona Romantica, the beach here is intended for families, newlyweds, and is a wonderful place to just watch a sunset and at the same time have a drink or enjoy a delicious meal.
This is the best beach and place for fun, activities and entertainment, day in and day out, a place that unites the best of the traditional charms of the town with the modern aspects too. Without doubt the liveliest beach in the whole Banderas Bay area
