When I asked Nicole how long she works on perfecting a piece, she mentioned that it can take her up to two years to perfect the technique for the production of a single type of item, and everyone is still unique. This is an enormous commitment and speaks to the dedication and devotion that goes into practising this very challenging art form. For one, I am looking at a hand-crafted glass article from her or any glass artist in a whole different light. Think of all the broken glass that must go into perfecting one beautifully formed, and very useful article, like the beautiful beer mugs Nicole made for the Cowboys.

When you visit the facilities of the Rocky Mountain Soap Company it is quickly evident that this is not a small business. There are some real smarts that are going into the way this company is managed.
Rocky Mountain Soap Co is a success because it does a few simple things really well. It has simple, but great products. It is a well-managed business. And, it is in one of the most beautiful places in the world. Right here in Canmore, Alberta, Canada. Cam, the entrepreneur mentioned that the business can probably do better in a cheaper and more business friendly location that Canmore, but it is the community and the lifestyle that keeps them here. Canmore is better off because they are here.

The value of the community newspaper is in identifying and highlighting relevant content like politics and opinion to the members of the community. The paper has a role as a mirror and as a conscience. People get to read about and see themselves. They are exposed to important information that may affect them and their family. It is a channel where the overall mood of the people can be reflected, where stupidity is called out, and where concerns are lodged.
The local newspaper is therefore not just necessary; it has an immense role and responsibility in the community.
Enjoy with us the video as we get to know a bit more about the people behind the Rocky Mountain Outlook and the history of the paper as we also take a closer look at why a newspaper remains an important part of, and plays a critical role in the health of a community.

Nestled in the Canadian Rocky Mountains is a small artisan bakery that produces quality baked goods and other food, to its local residents, community and tourists from around the world. You won't find them on the main street. In Canmore, Alberta, Canada we call them our secret.
JK Bakery has been quietly operating in the town of Canmore since 1994 providing wholesome bread and tasty treats to its retail and wholesale customers throughout the Bow Valley. JK Cafe, the face of JK Bakery has been operating from their Railway avenue location since 1999. It is the place for a coffee, pie, cup of soup, great pastries and our favourite varieties of freshly baked breads.
