Ed's Birthday Walk Around the Beautiful Village of Firle, East Sussex.
I was contacted by a Bald Explorer fan's wife and asked whether or not, for her husband's 50th birthday, he could join me on a video walk. 'Where to?' I asked. 'How about Firle', she said.
Firle is a delightful and unspoilt village in East Sussex at the foot of the Southdowns, close to Lewes. It is mentioned in the Domesday Book, referred to as 'Ferla'. The value of the village is listed as being £44,] which was amongst the highest in the county.

A cold but sunny day at Firle Beacon on the Sussex Downs in the UK.
Simon is flying his Purbeck Models 1/3rd scale MDM-1 Fox sailplane, 4.7 metres wing span, 5.2 metres with tip extensions weighing around 16 kilograms.
Firle Hillclimb
this is a slow ride up what used to be firle hillclimb near Lewes in sussex. A superb hill. Unfortunately they stopped using it in the early seventies. It would be great to have a revival.

Frog Firle, Bo-Peep, Alfriston and Litlington Circular Walk
A pleasant walk with fine views across the Cuckmere valley starting at High and Over and passing Bo-Peep on the South Downs Way before descending to Alfriston. The ancient Church at Litlington is shown on the return leg before the climb back to the top of the South Downs.

Samsara and Sharon have created The Muma Baby Sanctuary, a sacred space in the heart of Lewes in Southern England to serve the community and surrounding areas. To help parents with their birth choices, be a hub of information and education and to nurture and support women though their journey into motherhood and beyond.
Samsara brings her wealth of knowledge and experience as a mother of four children, a foster carer, doula, placenta encapsulation specialist and childbirth educator, both in this country and Australia for many years.
She has a passion for the miracle of childbirth and for babies, it was her dream to create a place where women, families and their babies could come and feel nourished and supported ante-nataly, post-nataly and in the early years.
Sharon owned and ran the Sanctuary Cafe in Hove where she created a haven for the local community, she has a great passion, love and understanding for children and has worked as a nanny and foster carer.
Their vision for the Muma Baby Sanctuary is a place where women and families can feel safe and held, having a massage or one of the many therapies on offer. Come along to an acupuncture or homeopathy drop-in clinic and also enjoy one of the many specialised classes which include yoga and pilates that run weekly. A place where ethically sourced natural, organic, mother and baby products can be purchased and a space where mums can just pop in to feed their baby and enjoy a cup of tea and a chat!
So often new parents can feel isolated and alone. They don't always know where to go to access help, but here at the Muma Baby Sanctuary parents don't have to be on their own, they can feel free to drop in any time and discuss current issues concerning women's and family health, pregnancy, birth, breast feeding support and even menopause.

Firework teams from three Bonfire societies in Sussex taking part in the first Bonfire Society Firework Championship 2016 at Firle Place near Lewes in Sussex. The teams were Robertsbridge, Firle and Southstreet.
