How To EASILY FIND ABANDONED PLACES ACTUALLY WORKS TUTORIAL STEP BY STEP
Ever wondered how urban explorers find the abandoned places to make their exploring videos?
This is a step by step easy tutorial for finding abandoned buildings near you, in your town, your city, your village.
I've mentioned before that google maps and research is how you find abandoned places, but today I really show you how I find abandoned places to explore.
This actually works most times, unless a place has a secret fake name like the abandoned house of quotes in lewes, sussex.
*DISCLAIMER: vandals beware, do not use my videos to find abandoned places near you, they won't help. The two abandoned places I will be giving out the location for in this video are both demolished.
I have done videos of them both which can be seen here:
Abandoned mental health hospital in hertfordshire london
( harperbury hospital ) -
Abandoned care home in worthing ( priory care home ) -
Hope this video helps you to find abandoned places in your town... happy exploring.

Canon 650D DSLR Body:
Canon 10-18mm f2.8 wide angle lens IS (great for vlogging and cinematics)
Canon 20mm f1.8 IS (great for creating shallow depth of field [blured background] and fast autofocus. not best for wide angle though.
Canon 18-55mm f3.5-5.6 (kit standard lens, but handy for the zoom and IS)
Standard camera light: (brightest)
Rode Mic Go (my personal choice as requires no batteries)
Disclaimer: Urban exploring CAN be dangerous, especially if you do not take the correct precautions. Go in a team, beware your surroundings, wear protective gear. OR, I recommend sitting back and enjoying the virtual tour instead.
Disclaimer: I am an urban explorer, not a vandal, theif, or criminal. I never break and enter, never vandalise, never steal, or break any laws. I trespass as part of the civil code and that is all. I follow and promote the urbex rules.

Newark on Trent to Birmingham University and return 22nd March 2014
I travelled by train from Newark on Trent to Birmingham University and return on 22nd March 2014 to attend a lecture. The journey started with East Midlands DMU from Newark to Nottingham where I changed onto Cross Country Turbo Sprinter for Birmingham New Street thence onto a London Midland class 323 for the short hop to University Station. The trip through the outskirts of Birmingham brought back many memories, and a few street names. I hope you enjoy the video and that my narration is accurate.

Perrott's Folly - The Two Towers of Birmingham
Perrott’s Folly towers above Edgbaston in Birmingham. Built in 1758 by John Perrott as a gazebo overlooking parkland - a place for entertainment and relaxation. The tower is 29m tall and built from warm red brick in Strawberry Hill Gothic style. There are 7 levels connected by a spiral staircase.
The fortified chimney of Edgbaston waterworks is a close neighbour.
Many people think these two towers were the inspiration for Tolkien’s towers in the Lord of the Rings as he lived and studied nearby. There is no reference to them in the Tolkien archive so it is, perhaps, a Middle Earth myth.
Birmingham landmarks and the countryside beyond, can be seen from the round and arched Windows. Birmingham Oratory is to the south east of the folly. Tolkien was an altar boy beneath the gilded dome. To the north, high rise buildings of Birmingham city centre. Old Joe, Birmingham university clock tower, is due south.
Perrott’s Folly is a Georgian delight entwined in legend.

Exploring The Royalty Cinema! , surprised to see most of the seats and interior were still fairly in good condition! Definitely one of the best places we have explored. This theater opened in 1930 and in 2010 it was operating as a Gala Bingo Club, and closed in 2012.
