Amazing San Juan Food Tour - Santurce History Food & Culture!
On our second day in Puerto Rico we went on a food tour with Spoon Food Tours. We wanted to explore the neighborhood we were staying in since it was just outside of Old San Juan so what better way than to go on a food tour.
We didn't know what to expect, we were wondering what type of food we'd be eating but little did we know how big of a treat we were in for. From the start of the day to the very end we not only ate delicious food but learned an incredible amount about the history of the area we were staying in, as well as Puerto Rico.
Pablo our guide and the others were so friendly and knowledgable. If you're

My friend Mariel de Viaje and I explored all the must see's in Old San Juan. From San Cristobal Castle to El Morro Castle. They are both incredible structures built by the Spanish over 400 years ago.
We also tried some Caribbean Ice Cream of Pina and Coconut, it was so refreshing and tasted more like sorbet then ice cream. From there we explored more of Old San Juan and found the best instagram worthy image of the Puerto Rican flag mural.
Next we drove back to the hotel to have dinner at restaurant Sak-I, a Japanese-Latin fusion restaurant at the Intercontinental San Juan. We had a few amazing rolls and sake. It was all so good!
Big thanks to my friends at the Intercontinental San Juan:

TROPICAL Puerto Rican STREET FOOD TOUR | Piñones, Puerto Rico
During my trip to San Juan, Puerto Rico in Partnership with the Intercontinental San Juan, I decided to head out to Piñones to try some tropical authentic Puerto Rican Street Food!
25 Puerto Rican Dishes You Must Eat:
I arrived in San Juan, Puerto Rico early in the morning and headed straight to the Intercontinental San Juan to check in and to show you my club level suite. My suite is huge!
From their I grabbed a quick 15 minute uber ride east to Piñones. This area has one road and their are tons of restaurants and kioskos (traditional huts) where they serve authentic Puerto Rican street food.
My first stop was at Donde Olga Bar & Restaurant to try a Bacalaito which is a salted cod pancake fritter and a Alcapurria which is fried green banana stuffed with crab or beef. Both of these Puerto Rican street foods are must tries when you visit Puerto Rico!
Next we walked over to El Barriles Restaurant to try some Mofongo with Seafood! Mofongo is fried plantain mash with seafood. This is the star of Puerto Rican street food dishes. It is so yummy mixed in with the seafood!
On our way to our next stop I stumbled on Ostiones Vivos Kiosko. This is a small hut serving local Puerto Rican ostras or oysters! They are small bite sized oysters but if you like oysters you will love them!
Our final stop is Sabores de Piñones where I tried two local specialities, Pionono is a stuffed fried plantain stuffed with beef and a Rellenos de Papa which is a fried mash potato stuffed with ground beef.
I think the Pionono was my favorite because it was so sweet but the Bacalaito and Mofogo were off the chain!
