------------------------------------
Tragic Earth is a 4-piece hard rock act from Melbourne, Australia. The band’s sound takes in elements of grunge, metal and stadium rock with big riffs and choruses, fused with floating vocal melodies and delivered with a blistering live show. The band believes in a message of hope and perseverance, dealing with problems faced in modern day society, using lyrics and emotion as an unlikely light in a familiar darkness common to many individuals.
Since debuting on the live scene in October of 2014, the band has toured regionally and interstate, notching up 40+ shows in their first 8 months of existence, including a spot on the ‘French Fest’ three day New Years Eve Festival held on French Island, Bendigo’s Music Slam four day Festival, Roadie Awards 2015 and Adelaide’s LOUD Festival.
Tragic Earth have released a self titled EP through Third Verse, along with two singles and a music video, and has received a solid amount of airplay both locally and overseas.
The band will conclude 2015 with the release of their debut album, which will be accompanied by a national tour over the summer of 2015 – 2016. The tour will be followed by Tragic Earth’s first trip over to Europe in April 2016.

‘These guys punch out a raucous style of heavy Aussie pub rock, but it’s also pub rock with a difference. Sure, you can very comfortably swagger and sway your drunken way around the dancefloor/pit of a sweaty, sticky carpeted pub to this. But this band inject a little raunch and a little boogie into their sound as well, and this sets them apart from the tired, soundalike Aussie rock mob.’ Rod Whitfield, SF Media
‘Tragic Earth makes sure you know what they're all about from the start by blasting through without a warning, maintaining a decadence redolent of 1980s hair metal as they strut through a cyclone of wailing, brazen guitars and vocals, an environment the four-piece group has clearly mastered by allowing the music to take Tragic Earth wherever it leads them while at the same time exerting full control of the reigns, making the musical maelstrom a purposeful and absolutely engrossing one.’ Music Murmur
‘Turn up the volume and grab a beer as Tragic Earth spear out of the speakers. Dirty rock meets big metal wah-wah in the immensely satisfying four minutes of Feels Good, Could Be Better.’ Emerging Indie

Tragic Earth - Voices (Official)
Filmed in a South Melbourne antique store, 'Voices' is the first single taken from Tragic Earth's debut album 'Hatred and Tolerance,' produced by Shane Rae at Lighthill Studios and released independently in June 2016.
The video attempts to shine a light on the concept of various vices that can plague an individual, from a male perspective, under the ill-guidance of peer pressure and mental deficiencies. The band used the concept of 'man's ruin' to illustrate the scenario that plays out.
As firm believers of using music as a platform to raise awareness and understanding of various broad social topics, the band hopes the underlying message will create a conversation in various circles. A discussion of the possibility of hope and the ability to overcome the various pressures faced in today's somewhat misguided society. A conversation on the possibility that regardless of your personal situation, you still have the ability and the power to rise up and overcome, to become a solid human-being capable of offering a positive contribution.

'Voices' was filmed and produced by Adam Mercante and Samantha Moody from Black Ice Productions, with the story-line written by Dima Shafro.

Reflections - Ideas, Insights & Inspirational People VIDEO #6 Adelaide Oval: In this Reflections video I had the incredible chance to interview Emma, the founder and chief of Emma Knights Productions. A pianist by trade, Emma turned her career on its head by spontaneously heading into event management and event planning.
Through Emma Knights Productions, Emma has created a production company that focuses on live music and live theater productions in South Australia. Through creating unique events, Emma brings together a hungry audience with talented local artists from the fields of music and theater.
One of her event organization companies biggest achievements to date was at The Adelaide Fringe. The Adelaide Fringe is a huge, month long cultural festival in Adelaide, South Australia. During the Adelaide Fringe Emma teamed up with the team at The Adelaide Oval - the oval where Adele recently performed the biggest live music concert in Adelaide - to create Live on 5. This was a multi-stage, 3 week program of performances! It was a huge feat in event planning and in event management!
In this interview we are located on one of the main stages, with the Adelaide Oval, in the heart of the city of Adelaide in South Australia, in the background.
Join me to pick Emma’s brain about spontaneity, going with the flow and how pianists get all of the fun!
Thanks again to Emma Knights:
