SOUTH DOWNS WAY | DAY 6 | TRULEIGH HILL TO KINGSTON LEWES
TRUELEIGH HILL YHA TO KINGSTONE LEWES
The one where we wild camped!
Distance: 22.21 miles
Health: I now have a blister! I never get blisters! I blame the heat and all those hills.
Actually, loads happened today. From having paragliding technical lessons, to many breaks, sitting on lots of benches, eating ice-creams, cows, cows and more cows! Getting tipsey in the pub and then going on a rope swing to finally wild camping and missing the sunset! What a day!
We’ve had such a giggle but the blog will have to wait as I’m writing crap as my brain won’t function!
Night night.
All my videos will always be under ten minutes as I value your time. Please let me know what aspects of the trail you would like to see more of. Perhaps it’s the buildings? The people? The villages? The scenery? The wild flowers? The churches? Let me know in the comments below.

Lessons on the Aero Tow
Steve Barter telling me like it is on Aero Tow from Ringmer East Sussex Gliding Club. 'where are you going to land if the rope breaks now?'....'ummm'....'too late, you're dead'...harsh but fair point, great lesson in constant planning for eventualities. The GoPro HD head cam was restricting my full lookout ability, so I turned it off took it off and stowed it once we started soaring. This flight lasted 1hr 13minutes with 4 climbs from 2000-4800ft with spins, stalls and some cross country landmark identification..... a great lesson that helped me get to my first solo flight the following day.

HalfTruleigh
A sunny winter's day. I missed the best of it, coming down late, as it was good at both Devil's Dyke and at Ditchling. I got straight to it when I arrived as I could see people all the way to Truleigh.
I made it, but way too low, and should have turned back or got higher in the lift on the way there. I landed out. The wind had dropped right off, so it was a 50 minute pack-up and 4km walk back for a 10 minute flight there. Still, it was a lovely winter afternoon and not too chilly.
