The ULTIMATE Chinese Food Tour: Peking Duck in Beijing
Just south of Tiananmen Square and the Qianmen Archery Tower lies Qianmen Street – a bustling hub of food, shops and entertainment in central Beijing. Among the myriad food options, Peking Duck is a must-try. Since as early as in Yuan Dynasty (1271-1368), the dish has graced the banquet tables of emperors. #PekingDuck

BEIJING Episode I
My parents and I had a 4 day trip to Beijing, China.
We checked into Prime Hotel Beijing is walking distance from the amazing main street called “ Wangfujing”. After we checked in to our beautiful hotel, we walked to see the beauty of the city. To my surprise, it was very clean, people were well disciplined and friendly. We ended up at the so called “Snack Street” where they sell diff types of insects ( tiny live scorpions etc) this place is the ultimate area for enjoying famous snacks from all over China- budget friendly dishes, taking pictures and watching people how they enjoy eating. Definitely a good tourist spot to check out, if you are just curious like us to have a look at diff varieties of street food . After that, we got hungry and went to one of the most famous peking duck restaurants in the area.

Niujie Mosque Beijing (Part 1) 6-4-2016
NIUJIE MOSQUE
Niuji Mosque (actual name Libaisi Masjid) is the oldest mosque in Beijing built in 996 AD during the reign of Liao Dynasty. It was destroyed by Mongols under Genghis Khan in 1215 during their onslaught of civilized world and conquest of Beijing. It was reconstructed in 1442 during Ming Dynasty and expanded in 1696 during Qing Dynasty. Now it has an area of 10000 sqm (2.5 acre) and reflects a mix culture of Islamic and Han Chinese architectural style. It is located on Niujie Street (Cow Street) of Beijing’s Xuanwu District which is a largely Muslim inhabited area with big Muslim super stores, restaurants and shops. Lanzhou Lamiian (noodles bowl) is the special food available here at very reasonable price. The Mosque is within walking distance from Caishikou Station of Beijing Subway (Metro) system.

Eating the SAME BEIJING ROAST DUCK as a Qing dynasty EMPRESS!!
BEIJING ROAST DUCK, what a great way to finish a video series off!
But that isn’t all I went and tried this day. I started off with a delicious Horseshoe Bun宝光熏肉鞋底火烧 in a famous snack street in Beijing. Simply delicious as it has two things, pork meat and a great bun. Don’t let that fool you though, these were bursting with flavor!
Afterwards, I headed out for my favorite bowl of soup in Beijing and maybe my top 5 in China, Luzhu! A bowl that will throw you around with all the bold flavors. Pork intestine, bing, liver, pork belly, tofu, and more absolutely crowded in a humongous bowl.
Lastly, I go for the Beijing Roast duck feast. Not only did I get the succulent roast duck, but I made sure to order the soup and fried duck on bone as well. It is a must try dish when in Beijing and I am pretty sure you can’t say you have been to Beijing until you try the roast duck. However, I really highly recommend here as they are handling the ducks the same way now as cooks did for Cixi, the Qing dynasty empress.
As always, my sweet tooth still needed a little something so I headed for a traditional Beijing local favorite, candied hawthorn. This is a sweet, sour, crunchy, creamy combo that locals fall in love with as kids and still love as adults.
Truly a great day of eating in a truly gastronomic city and the capital of China.

Traditional Autumn&Winter Food to Eat in Beijing | Luzhuhuoshao
Chopped-up pig intestines with wheat bread, known as Luzhuhuoshao, may sound unusual, but it’s a traditional local delicacy in Beijing. It originated from the Nanheng street in the south of Beijing. Its predecessor is another Chinese cuisine whose name is Suzaorou. It is said that during the period of Guangxu emperor in Qing dynasty, Suzaorou cooked by streaky pork was so expensive that normal Chinese people hardly afford it, so instead, Chinese people have been using pork intestines, pork lungs during that period.Gradually, more and more people tried to eat this way. Nowadays, it is still popular in Beijing.

SO, Beijing a city to visit, friendly and beautiful for more info
Beijing means northern capital, in line with the common East Asian tradition whereby capital cities are explicitly named as such. The city has been renamed several times. During the Jin Dynasty, the city was known as Zhongdu (中都) , and then later under the Mongol Yuan Dynasty as Dadu (大都) in Chinese and Daidu to Mongols (also recorded as Cambuluc by Marco Polo). Twice in the city's history, the name was changed from Beijing (Peking) to Beiping (Peiping) (北平 Pinyin: Beiping; Wade-Giles: Pei-p'ing), literally Northern Peace. This occurred first under the Hongwu Emperor of the Ming Dynasty, and again in 1928 with the Kuomintang (KMT) government of the Republic of China.
Beijing is divided into 16 urban and suburban districts and two rural counties. Beijing is a major transportation hub, with dozens of railways, roads and motorways passing through the city. It is also the destination of many international flights arriving in China. Beijing is recognized as the political, educational, and cultural center of the People's Republic of China, while Shanghai and Hong Kong predominate in economic fields. The city hosted the 2008 Olympic Games
