Is Colombian Food Good? ???? Delicious Medellin food tour. Eating Traditional Food in Colombia
While in Medellin, we decided we had to do an eating Colombian food part two (we did part one last year in Cartagena, to watch it click here:
This time around we opted to try some different dishes and ones that are a bit more typical to the region.
We started off with a huge breakfast dish called bandeja paisa. It’s a plate full of a whole bunch of things including an egg, sausage, beans and rice. Here we also got coconut lemonade. The restaurant we went to was called Hacienda.
Next we tried another very hearty dish called Ajiaco which is a type of soup made with chicken, rice and corn which we tried at a restaurant called Ajiaco y Mondongo.
After that we opted for some lighter food and first tried a small deep fried, cheese dough ball called Bunuelos.
On our last stop we also went for a relatively small dish. We tried Arepas before but this time we tried Arepas Con Queso (with cheese).

Bogotá's Best Late Night Food - Drunk Eats
The capital city of Colombia, Bogotá, has a bustling nightlife with plenty of late night food options. Juan Sebastián stops at four iconic places to eat at after a night of drinking. First, he heads to El Perro Gigante for a giant hotdog topped with cheese, fried plantains, and extra meat.
Then, it’s off to Ciudad Montes for oversized burgers. He continues his night of eating at Andrés Carne De Res with salt-crusted beef tenderloin, chicharrones, and a flaming cocktail. He ends his late night food tour of Bogotá by doing shots with the owner of Donde Pele and eating broth at the 24-hour breakfast spot, Desayunadero De La 42.

— About Exploring Colombia —
Colombia, a country which many only know because of it’s violent past, has been on my list since I went to South America for my first long-term trip in 2012. 6 Years later and with 5 weeks to spend it was finally time to properly explore my country number 9 on the continent.
For the first part of the trip I’ll be traveling with my mate David to the historical city of Cartagena, some picturesque Carribean islands and to the city of Medellin where we get to learn about the violent past and the transformation of the country. After a few days in the capital Bogota I’ll be joined by my good friend Stefan to learn salsa and take on some outdoor adventures in Cali before heading up to Santa Marta where we checkout the most beautiful beaches, float down rivers and hike through the mountains.

Eating in Colombia, trying Colombian food
Eating in Colombia. Time to eat some more Colombian food. Had a great day, went around a few places in Cucuta to try some Colombian food. Was quite full afterwards but well worth it!
Bogota food escapades! All the things I ate and drank in the capital of Colombia.
Part two of my BTS vlog in Bogota, Colombia....the part in which, in between shooting stories, I eat my weight in Colombian foods. But then again...what else is new.
And yes, I see the typo. Cheesey is supposed to say cheesy but I did this at 11:30 pm and can't be bothered to fix it ;)

Welcome to Colombia
Bogotá is the capital city of Colombia, and there are a lot of fun plans for Sunday in Bogota, one of them is visiting flea markets, the Bogota Sunday Market. In public parking areas you will find several spots in the city where people sell recycled goods, used and cheap things. There’re four principal flea markets in Bogota; three of them are located in Bogota’s Downtown, and the fourth is situated in the neighborhood Usaquen. Flea Markets are the perfect place to enjoy music, remember childhood memories and eat food only in Colombia offered, such as Lechona and Salpicón. It is also the perfect place to get in touch with locals and learn about their live and thoughts. Colombians love to communicate and on Sunday’s everybody is very relaxed. Specifically, in Usaquen you can find a broad variety of restaurants of high quality. Restaurants as Chevichería La Mar to get some Peruvian food in Bogota, Julia to get one of Bogotas best pizza and San Alberto’s Coffee Temple, a nice place to get a cup of Colombian coffee (Watch full video about San Alberto’s Farm: Besides the flee market you can also stroll down Carrera 7 (carrera septima Bogota), which on Sunday’s is full of street artists, sellers, bikers, tourist, locals and you can be sure that you will see some cool but also some very weird stuff. Make sure you have some coins in your pocket and make those Bogota Street Artists move and show their stuff. Best place to start for the walk down the Carrera 7 is Plaza Bolivar right in the middle of La Candelaria, the historic part of Bogota. If you travel to Colombia you will have the chance to see all this and enjoy the things to do in Colombia.

Welcome to Colombia
La Perseverancia Market is located in La Macarena Bogota. The construction of the Bavaria Beer Factory attracted a lot of workers from near neighborhoods to La Macarena, and because it was difficult to them to transport from their homes to their places of work, they started living in the neighborhood La Perseverancia, or as it is call nowadays “El Barrio Obrero” (The Worker’s Neighborhood) . Due this, it was created in 1940 La Perseverancia Market, to provide food to the new inhabitants of La Macarena (To know more about La Perseverancia Market history check this out:

Colombia's Exotic Fruits | EPIC Fruit Tour In BOGOTA's Paloquemao Market
Colombia is known for its bio diversity. It grows many varieties of fruits including many which are endemic to the region. Some of these fruits are wild and exotic that we don't hear about them outside of Colombia even in this highly globalized world.
So we ended up Tasting Some of the Wildest Fruit at Bogotá's Paloquemao Market. Our friend Victor took us around the market serving us fresh and tasty fruits of the region. We tasted fruits like Lulo, Guanavana, Mora, Granadilla and 14 more! Also, we got to see Paloquemao's flower market too!
If you are in Bogota, you should book a tour with Victor as he has deep knowledge about these fruits and their origins. Here is this Airbnb experience:
Hope you enjoy the video and let us know in the comments which one is your favourite!
Its very interesting how as a Colombian I think all of these fruits are really common, we take them for granted and we don’t really appreciate the huge diversity we have. Very cool video
