Beaton Park is located just 15mins North of Fort St John B.C. along the edge of Charlie Lake Canada.
Here you will find moose, deer, foxes, rabbits and hearty northern kids tracking up 15kms of cross-country ski trails. This is all maintained by our local ski club and its wonderful volunteers.
We ski as a family here and the kids take lessons on Saturdays. Often we can get our grandparents and friends to join us mid week for a glide int he quite forest before the sun sets for another long night.
Nordic Skiing is the perfect winter activity to bring people together and get them active and out side though the long winters here in the north!

NSC Opens New Indoor Golf Learning Center
BLAINE, Minn. -- There's a new indoor golf learning center at the National Sports Center in Blaine.
It's located inside Victory Links Clubhouse and has three main stations that will have you putting, chipping and full-swing practicing. According to Tom Kirkland who is the head golf professional at Victory Links, they use a variety of methods with students, to teach the concepts behind the game of golf including a toy train.
Most of us know that when the train starts running the engine's going to have to be the thing that pulls us, or pulls the train down the tracks, said Kirkland. We liken that to our hips being our engine and our arms being the cars of the train. So once we understand that we can kind of represent some other scenarios that happen when people start swinging the club with that model train.
Starting on Friday, January 22nd at the learning center, Victory Links will host Parent's Night Out, for a fee, on Friday evenings. It's an opportunity for youth, ages eight and up, to get golf instruction and have fun. And the parents can have a night out while the kids have fun.
