The downtown area is the head of most of the government offices and is the main transportation hubs for commuters using public transportation. If you want to see how Costa Ricans live then this is walk is worth your time.

The Museo del Jade is an archaeological museum in San José, Costa Rica. It has been located in front of Plaza de la Democracia since 2014. It was founded in 1977 by Fidel Tristán Castro, the first president of the INS. The museum has an extensive collection of pre-Columbian artifacts, such as stone tables (metates), ceramics, ceremonial heads, adzes, and other decorative pieces from 500 BC to 800AD. It contains the world's largest collection of American jade. The jade room of the museum also displays translucent jade pendants, mostly purchased from private collections.

A nice walk on downtown San Jose, Costa Rica on a nice Saturday morning and afternoon. I stayed at Holiday Inn downtown Aurola. Walked from Calle5 to Avenida Central. Visited the metropolitan Cathedral on way. Also the Central Market and National Theater for Performing Arts in separate videos. It was a beautiful walk with all the interesting stores, food, cafes, street musicians and the very friendly people. Would like to return soon.
Downtown San Jose - San Jose, Costa Rica
David's Been Here is touring the capital city of Costa Rica, San Jose. When visiting any new country, a trip to the downtown area of its capital is always a must. San Jose became the capital of Costa Rica in 1848 after an earthquake destroyed the previous capital. Though not the safest place in the country (especially after 4pm), a trip downtown is well worth the visit. Keep your wits about you when traveling, but still enjoy the sites, local shops and other interesting parts of the city. For more information on all the top sites in the downtown area of the capital, check out the David's Been Here Guide to San Jose.

San Jose Costa Rica day trip travel tips
Thank you for watching, fellow primate !
I recently had a short business trip to San Jose, Costa Rica which gave me a mere four hours to do some sightseeing.
What is there to see and do in San Jose ?
First hire a taxi driver for the day, or for the going rate of approximately $15 per hour (like I did).
Then I visited the National Theater, the Jade museum, and the Gold museum in four quick hours, with plenty of sights still unseen like the nearby volcanoes and rain forests.
Every admission fee at these sights was about $10 (US) and closed at about 5 PM.
Next time, guys !
I'm grateful for every view, comment, subscription, and share.

Walk in San Jose - Costa Rica (final) 2017 - 4K
This is my last video of San Jose, Costa Rica. I start the walk near Parque Braulio Carrillo and I end the video at Parque Morazán. For some reason one of my video files is corrupt and I could't fix it. So the middle of the video is missing.
