Pedal on Parliament 2015
Free Wheel North attended Pedal on Parliament 25th April 2015.
Thousands of cyclists congregated to demand space for cycling in Scotland. We represented inclusive cycling. Street design needs to reflect human needs and the variety of human powered transport that exists routinely in other parts of Europe. UK Cycling needs to get away from the image of Mamils (Middle Aged Men in Lyrca)and to assert that cycling is for everyone.

Places to see in ( Glasgow - UK ) People's Palace and Winter Gardens
Places to see in ( Glasgow - UK ) People's Palace and Winter Gardens
The People's Palace and Winter Gardens in Glasgow, Scotland is a museum and glasshouse situated in Glasgow Green, and was opened on 22 January 1898 by the Earl of Rosebery.
At the time, the East End of Glasgow was one of the most unhealthy and overcrowded parts of the city, and the People's Palace was intended to provide a cultural centre for the people. It was designed by the City Engineer, Alexander B. McDonald. At the opening ceremony Lord Rosebery stated: A palace of pleasure and imagination around which the people may place their affections and which may give them a home on which their memory may rest. He declared the building Open to the people for ever and ever.
The building was closed for almost two years, to allow restoration work to be carried out, with the re-opening being timed to coincide with the 100-year anniversary of its first opening in 1898; this is recorded on a plaque mounted just inside the main entrance. Renovations extended to include the Winter Gardens to the rear of the building, where the glasshouse was extensively restored and reglazed, and the gardens tidied.
( Glasgow - UK ) is well know as a tourist destination because of the variety of places you can enjoy while you are visiting the city of Glasgow . Through a series of videos we will try to show you recommended places to visit in Glasgow - UK

Cycling the West Highland Way | #4 - New Bike Required | MTB Scotland
Four friends and I decided to ride the West Highland Way in Scotland over 3 tough days.
The route runs from Milngavie, north of Glasgow to Fort William and is approximately 100miles / 160km long travelling through the Highlands of Scotland.
The weather we had was amazing, sunny, blue skies and very hot each day.
This is the final part of Day 1, Andy's bike is broken beyond repair, he has no derailleur or chain and can only free wheel. w
We still have the ferry to catch to get across across Loch Lomond. But help is at hand as we happen to pass a bike hire shop, however they only do £150 Decathlon specials. Needs must when the devil drives.

Glasgow and Scottish Passions
Check your local public television station for this Rick Steves’ Europe episode or watch it on Glasgow, once an industrial powerhouse, offers a fun look at Scotland's vibrantly gritty urban side — full of edgy street art, trendy dining, and the striking architecture of Charles Rennie Mackintosh. Leaving town, we'll tap into Scottish passions as we tour historic Stirling Castle and nearby battlefields, sample a dram at the land's most beloved distilleries on the Speyside Whisky Trail, watch a sheepdog demonstration, and struggle to lift the Manhood Stone at a Highland Games.

London to Cologne Cycle, May 2017
16 riders set out from St Pauls Cathedral, London and cycled 340 miles through England, France, Belgium, The Netherlands & Germany, to Cologne Cathedral in Germany. They fundraised over £24,000 for Children's Cancer and Leukaemia Group - CCLG .
The journey took them just four days during which they battled some horrific weather, tackled climbs of Kent and covered 80-90 miles per day. Here is a short video from the trip....

Full Train Journey: Virgin Trains Glasgow Central - Birmingham New Street Virgin Pendolino
This is a video of my entire train journey from Glasgow Central to Birmingham New Street on Virgin Trains. This route is part of the West Coast Main Line and stops at the following stations (Time stamps in brackets):
Carlisle (1:07:52)
Oxenholme (1:56:12)
Preston (3:10:31)
Wigan North West (3:24:32)
Warrington Bank Quay (3:35:50)
Crewe (3:54:07)
Wolverhampton (4:25:23)
Sandwell and Dudley (4:37:37)
Once the train reaches Birmingham New Street (4:48:16), it will continue to London Euston passing through Birmingham International, Coventry and Milton Keynes Central along the way.
This trip was served by a Virgin Pendolino train and experienced two major delays, one at Carlisle and once between Oxenholme and Preston (from 2:20:50 to 2:41:30). Since my journey was delayed for around 40 minutes, I was refunded half of my train fare, which wasn't too bad!
This video was taken with my camcorder mounted on a tripod with the lens pressed as close to the window as possible. Despite my best efforts, there will still be some glare on the windows and motion blur. Feel free to leave some tips on how to reduce those two problems on the comments section below.

We took the ferry from Ireland to Scotland & made a bee line for the infamous Isle of Skye. The combination of snow & pastel colour skies against the panoramic backdrop at the top of The Old Man of Storr, made for one of favourite Scotland memories. Driving the North Coast 500 route (NC500) made up the next part of our trip. The drive is famed for being one of the world's most epic road trips and it certainly lived up to the hype. We were treated to lochs, castles, mountains, wild & rugged landscapes, highland cows & reindeer. Comment below and let us know your favourite part.
