It turns out Auckland’s transport has a very dark history, if British comedian Nish Kumar’s tour of MOTAT (Museum of Transport and Technology) is anything to go by…

2012-12-31 Copenhagen New Year Fireworks
This is an ultra-wide-angle video, starting 18 minutes past midnight, of the 2012/2013 New Year fireworks over Copenhagen, Denmark (far, far away), and the local urban sprawl, seen from a tall building in northern Hvidovre. Watch in large window, or HD!
Recording with a GoPro Hero3 Black at 2.7kCin (turned out to be useless, so I converted to normal colorspace, cropped to 16:9, and resized down to 1920x1080). Audio is strongly filtered due to too much wind.

________________________________________
*Irene Pink is known for her intelligent humour and insights. Strongly opinionated from her first letter to the editor at age 12 (Dear Sir, Why is the world so sexist?) Irene has had a good long talk with herself and some of those opinions have changed. Chances are she'll change her mind again sometime and with a little bit of luck; she'll change a few other minds along the way.Seen locally on TV3's AotearoHA and TV2's Comedy Christmas Gala alongside Comedy Central's Bits, Irene has been a finalist for the NZ Comedy Guild Best Female since returning from the UK in 2005.
*Justine Smith is able to deliver a line with a flicker of the eyes that has been tearing up crowds for more than ten years. The Christchurch girl made good, Justine now lives in Auckland but at least it's out west. She has won the Billy T Award in 2003 and the NZ Comedy Guild Best Female Comedian. Her solo shows, The Justine Smith Hour, Return Of The Jussi and Jussi Town have garnered critical acclaim and she is recognised for her appearances on the Comedy Gala, the AotearoHA series and as host of TV3's Divas.

My friend Scott Jarvie who was one of the main photographers for the event, you can see some of the behind the scenes of it all in his blog post down below!
For all the shots where the camera was on a pole, we used Contour cameras to get those shots. Check them out.
For the actual pole itself that we hooked the camera to, we used a Go-Scope pole. I bought mine on this website. They make them for GoPro cameras, not Contour cameras, so we had to rig the camera to the pole to make it work.
Find out more about this awesome event in the link below!
As far as making the camera look like it was flying, I used a glidecam 2000 HD for all those shots. You can check out the exact model on their official website below where you can also buy them, and I don't get paid to say that :)
As far as a techincal level goes...
This was filmed on...
A Canon 5D Mark II
Canon 5D Mark III
Canon 7D
Canon 60D
Contour Camera
And last but not least, make sure to follow me on twitter and facebook, it's the cool thing to do these days :)

Brisbane City Hall Local Government Tour
Join a City Hall Tour Guide and learn how local government operates in Brisbane City Hall which is the seat of local government in Brisbane. It's where Brisbane's 27 Councilors, including the Lord Mayor, meet and work to improve the day-to-day services offered to the people of Brisbane.
This tour was recorded in late 2009 just prior to the current restoration, which is expected to be complete in late 2012. This is an excellent resource of information and ideal for school children who want to learn more about the heritage and history of the Brisbane City Hall.
