Tattershall Castle National Trust
Called in on our way to Lincoln, the best thing was the view once you climbed the 148 steps to the top of the castle, we done it floor by floor in three stages.
Tattershall Castle
Tattershall Castle is a historic site in Lincolnshire that shows evidences from the early Medieval to present. The red brick tower, together with the guardhouse, the moat walls, the stables and the kitchen ruins are grade I listed buildings. They all come from different ages and have different stories. First went there as a young boy & have been back numerous times. Guitar playing is mine.
Herstmonceux Castle entrance
Herstmonceux Castle is a brick-built castle near Herstmonceux, East Sussex, England. From 1957 to 1988 its grounds were the home of the Royal Observatory, Greenwich. Today it is used by the Bader International Study Centre of Queen's University, Canada.
Tattershall Castle, Lincolnshire
Rising proudly from the flat Lincolnshire fens, Tattershall Castle, with its huge Gothic fireplaces and church-like windows, was designed to impress. Built by Lord Ralph Cromwell, Treasurer of England, it was designed to show off his wealth, position and power. The Great Tower is one of the earliest and finest surviving examples of English medieval brickwork and was saved from exportation to America by Lord Curzon of Kedleston in 1911. Today the Castle is owned by the National Trust and is open to the public.
This very short video was filmed on 30th March 2016 on my Sony Cybershot DSC-H55 digital camera.
Herstmonceux Then and Now
I took forty old photogrpahs from 1890 to 1960 and merged them with new photogrpahs taken in the last year or so. This is a walk from Stunts Green via West End and along Hailsham Road and Gardner Street to Chapel Row and Church Road. Through the grounds of Herstmonceux Castle to Wartling Road and back to Gardner Street via Windmill Hill and Lime Cross through the heart of East Sussex. Some things have changed very little some quite a lot. The poem is Sussex by Rudyard Kipling the music Fields of Gold.
Tattershall Castle
One of my favourite spots in Lincolnshire
Herstmonceux Castle, epic aerial film
Herstmonceaux Castle is a late mediæval to early Tudor palace in Sussex, England. Built for style and comfort, rather than military might during the Wars of the Roses. It was owned for a time by Henry VIII, who visited for hunting, jousting and feasting. Herstmonceux became famous in the C20th as the new home of the Royal Observatory after it relocated from Greenwich. Today, this great palace is now part of Queen’s University, Canada but it is open to visitors. Please see their website for details.

My first parkour video!
More training than anything, but a lot of fun.
Shot with a tripod and my old point-and-shoot, so apologies for static shots and low image-quality.
