Today's American Mustangs Trailer
There is a wide misconception that Mustangs are wild and un-trainable animals, and are seen as parasites that roam the western states of the U.S. The Last Hoof Prints of a Fading West: Todays American Mustangs will follow Sandi Anderson and Alissa Booher as they show that a mustang can be trained in a 90 days and that there is an athletic and nurturing side in the last reminiscence of the wild west.
The Mustang Heritage Foundation held the first Norco Extreme Mustang Trail Challenge on May 15-17, 2009, in Norco, California. Trainers and Mustangs will be checking the mail in downtown Norco and crossing creeks in the surrounding foothills, among overcoming many other exciting obstacles! Both new and seasoned Mustang trainers will enjoy this Extreme Mustang Trail Challenge!
With 90 days to tame wild to mild, the film will follow Sandy Anderson and her wild mustang though training and finally to the Extreme Mustang Trail Challenge.
The Mustang Heritage Foundation, in cooperation with the BLM, created the Extreme Mustang Makeover event in order to recognize and highlight the value of Mustangs through a national training competition. This event gives the public a unique opportunity to see the results of wild horses becoming trained mounts. The purpose of the Extreme Mustang Makeover is to showcase the beauty, versatility and trainability of the rugged horses that roam freely on public lands throughout the West, where they are protected by the BLM under Federal law.
At the conclusion of the Extreme Mustang Makeover the participating Mustangs are available for adoption by competitive bid. Through these events the foundation offers the public a special opportunity to adopt a true Living Legend.

DEVIL'S GARDEN WILD HORSES AT LITCHFIELD CORRALS
Devil's Garden wild horses at the BLM's Litchfield Corrals.
A glimpse at some of the age 9 and under California's wild horses from Modoc National Forest Service's gather of October 2018, removing wild horses from Devil's Garden Wild Horse Territory. These horses have been transferred to the Bureau of Land Management.
Note: This was a Forest Service gather, not a BLM gather. However, these horses are fortunate to be transferred into the BLM system.

Wild Horse & Burro Adoption
Nearly 40 thousand wild horses and burros are roaming federally-held lands in 10 western states and this weekend some of them will be up for adoption. Paul McGuire from the Bureau of Land Management is here today to tell us about the Wild Horse and Burro Adoption Program. Adoptions are being held August 18-20. For more information visit blm.gov/nm or call (866) 468-7826.
Bring Home a Wild Horse or Burro
The Bureau of Land Management works to place excess wild horses and burros into private care through its Adoption and Sales Programs as well as through the efforts of our successful partner organizations across the country. Each wild horse or burro is unique and comes with its own personality, quirks and challenges! Many have found it personally challenging and rewarding to adopt or purchase a wild horse or burro. It is a chance to care for, and then own, a part of America’s Western heritage.

Gilligan, NV Wild Mustang, & Amanda Thompson 120 day journey from Hope to Happiness!
Gilligan's Desert Gold is a 3 rd old Dunalino Wild Mustang from Nevada. This video depicts their journey together from Hope to Happiness over only 120 days! Gilligan & Amanda have created an unbelievable bond that I know will inspire you as deeply as it inspires me. They plan to continue their partnership together to share their wild and golden hearts with the world! Amanda and Gilligan traveled half way across the country to compete at Mustang Million in the w/t division. They did a brilliant job and won just enough money to pay for the trip .... that is until they were half way home from Texas to NC and their truck broke down in Alabama. ... They were able to catch a ride with friends and Mustang and two-legged are safely home in NC, but their rig is stranded in AL until they can come up with $4000 to fix the truck! ... Friends and family have pulled together to raise the $ Amanda needs, most people have donated $20 and that small amount is starting to add up! We would be honored if you could send a prayer or even a small monetary donation to help complete Amanda's amazing journey. Friends have set up a website to accept donations through cc at .. your support, be it financial, or spiritual .. or both is GREATLY appreciated! .... Sincerely, Mary Miller Jordan

Mantle Wild Horse Adoption and Training Facility
The Mantle Family has been training and gentling wild horses for the BLM in Wheatland, Wyoming since 1998. Mantle Ranch cares for approximately 200 head of mixed-age and gender of horses.
The Mantle Ranch is a family based business consisting of Steve Mantle; Bryan Mantle and Katie Sherman; and Nick Mantle and his wife Kayla. Steve started working with wild horses in the 1980’s and both Bryan and Nick have 18 years of continuous time working in the family business with the wild horses and BLM.
Their operation currently uses the Internet to place over 50% of the adopted horses. The facility offers on-site, and in-person adoptions by appointment. Their training methods involve simple safety, patience, and consistency as the top priority. They spend time observing the horses behavior and then develop a training plan for each horse based on each one’s specific needs.

NNCC Horse Adoption - Little Foot - #8518
Northern Nevada Correctional Center Saddle Horse Adoption.
Feb. 21, 2015 at NNCC in Carson City, Nevada
Little Foot has been handled since Nov. 2014, starting ground work for the first few weeks. The rider/trainer, Dale Fasking, has a nice touch with this gelding.
Little Foot is small and sturdy, as you can see in this clip he carries the rider with ease. Don't let this little guy fool you with size, he has a gentle heart and a very light mouth.
