JAPAN TRIP: PART IV GINZA TOKYO
This is my final vlog from my Japan Trip. We spent 24 hours in Tokyo and focuses on the Ginza district. I incurred a ton of data loss on my memory cards from this part of the trip, but hopefully it's still fun to watch. We all had a blast, starting the first night with some super late night soba, and a helpful Japanese women who helped translate the menu. The next day we woke up super early and plowed through the breakfast buffet and headed to the Senso-Ji Temple and Market. We played around in the subway for a little bit, ate some octopus, frolicked around in the market, got our fortunes, then ended the day with some sushi.
On our way to the airport we met a new friend, drank some Sapporo and Shochu and had tons of laughs...right up until our sleepy bus driver almost crashed the bus. NO JOKE. The bus driver fell asleep 4-5 times and almost crashed.

Ginza is the epitome of luxe for Japanese and tourist alike. While many like to compare Ginza to the Champs-Élysées (France), Ginza is in many ways different from its French counterpart. With new and luxurious buildings popping-up from the ground every single year, Ginza has many things to offer regardless of your personal wealth. But, if you are on a tight budget, why not visiting this iconic Japanese district on a Sunday when its major road is close to any cars and fully open to the public.

Golden Week in Japan ゴールデンウィーク
Today (29 April) is Shōwa no hi ~ Shōwa Day ~ in Japan, and the first day of the Golden Week!
Golden week is a cluster of national holidays starting from the end of April till the beginning of May (29 Apr.- 5 May).
Depending on the year how weekend fall on which day, it can be very long holidays for Japanese! :)
This year (2015), we have national holiday on Wednesday, then next is Sat. and Sun. (2nd and 3rd May) (by the way, 1 May is not Japanese national holiday although many other countries set this day as Labor day)
4th May is Greenery Day, 5th is Children's Day ~Kodomo no hi~, and 6th is substitute holiday for 3rd May (Constitution Day ~Konpō kinen bi~ as it falls on Sunday this year.)
So we have holidays (including weekend) on 29 April, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 May! yey! :) :) :)
Many Japanese tend to visit overseas during Golden Week, but maybe this year will not as many as usual year due to cheap yen. haha. But if you as a foreigner visit Japan during this time, you'll definitely enjoy the holiday mood here! I think May is the great time to visit Japan because relatively we have nice weather.

Sakura Dori - A local street in Chuo City, Tokyo ● 桜通 中央区 東京
► Sakura Dori (Cherry Blossom Street) is a nice local - and rather sleepy - little street nearby where I live in Tokyo, and the sakura here is almost peaking now. Usually, sakura-videos shows the cherry blossoms in its natural enviroment, such as a park or garden. And I will do that too, but first, why not have a look at how nice the sakura looks in an urban setting, on normal, sunny Saturday afternoon? - Enjoy!

Motoji Kimono Shop - Ginza, Tokyo ● 銀座もとじ 和織・和染

Prices ranges from 250.000 - 1.500.000 yen, but then you also get a potential one of a kind kimono, not to mention top class service from the friendliest staff you can imagine, and a cup of tea while looking at the fabrics. (-The white peanut shaped things halfway through the video, are silk cocoons.)
The shop is located in Ginza, Tokyo - if you happen to be in the neighbourhood, please visit Motoji - they will welcome you as a friend of the house. - Enjoy!

I'D NEVER SEEN A TEMPLE LIKE THIS IN JAPAN - Honganji Temple, Tsukiji ft internationally me
A really interesting temple in Tsukiji near the oldest fish market in Tokyo. It was destroyed in the Great Kanto Earthquake. Rebuilt in the 1930s in a very unique architectural style. Very different from what you come to expect from a Japanese temple, the architecture is very heavily influenced by South Asia.
We went filming with the incredibly lovely Angela of the internationallyme channel. If you love informative videos about living in Japan, definitely go check her out.
